Standard and customised measurements for wind potential assessment 风势评估的标准和定制测量

A first task on the agenda of using renewable energy resources is to identify them and make an assessment of the energy potential in the established area. In this context, the present paper describes in detail two certified systems developed with the aim of determining wind energy parameters. The paper is based on a real case study, and focuses on the use of advanced data acquisition, storage, transmission and processing technology for energy-related data. An optimisation of measurement techniques selected as to comply both the clients' requirements and the existing conditions at the location under scrutiny is proposed. Both tested systems are able to operate independently and continuously and deliver real measurements respectively bankable information for potential wind projects developers.

A hybrid multiple classifier system for recognizing usual and unusual drilling events 一种用于识别常见和异常钻井事件的混合多分类器系统

Up to very recently, the applications of machine learning in the oil & gas industry were limited to using a single machine learning technique to solve problems in-hand. As the complexity of the demanded tasks being increased, the single techniques proved insufficient. This gave rise to intelligent systems that are hybrids of several machine learning techniques to solve the most challenging problems. In this paper we propose a hybrid multiple classifier approach for recognizing usual and unusual drilling events. We suggest using two different information sources namely: (1) real time data collected by sensors located around the drilling rig, and (2) daily morning reports written by drilling personnel to describe the drilling process. Text mining techniques were used to analysis the daily morning reports and to extract textual features that include keywords and phrases, whereas data mining techniques were used to analysis the sensors data and extracting statistical features. Three base classifiers were trained and combined in one ensemble to obtain better predictive performance. Experimental evaluation with real data and reports shows that the ensemble outperforms the base classifiers in every experiment, and the average classification accuracy is about 90% for usual events, and about 75% for unusual events.

Identification of time-varying systems using a two-dimensional B-spline algorithm 用二维b样条算法辨识时变系统

This paper presents a new method which non-parametrically estimates a two dimensional impulse response function hLTV(t, τ) of slowly time-varying systems. A generalized B-spline technique is used for double smoothing: once over the different excitation times τ (which refers to the system memory) and once over the actual excitation time t (referring to the system behavior). If the change of the parameters of the observed system is sufficiently slow, with respect to the system dynamics, we will be able to 1) reduce the disturbing noise by additional smoothing 2) reduce the number of model parameters that need to be stored.

Comparison of MUSIC and ESPRIT for direction of arrival estimation of jamming signal MUSIC与ESPRIT在干扰信号到达方向估计中的比较

For antijamming design of global positioning system (GPS) in military applications, the direction of arrival (DOA) estimation of jamming signal is positively necessary. The DOA estimation is also used in mobile communication systems to expand the coverage area or to increase the channel capacity, where the base station forms a beam to the direction of the user terminal. In this paper, we compare the performance of MUSIC and ESPRIT algorithms with two-dimensional antenna arrays. MUSIC and ESPRIT algorithms are two typical DOA estimation methods in nonparametric and parametric methods, respectively. With ESPRIT, we derive the estimates of two-dimensional azimuth and elevation from two one-dimensional DOAs. Computer simulations are shown to demonstrate the performance.

A distributed wireless body area network for medical supervision 一种用于医疗监督的分布式无线体域网络

The emerging of wireless body area network has profound impacts on our daily life, such as pervasive medical supervision and outdoor exercises, and the large scale application of wireless body area network can effectively reduce higher cost burden owing to the aging society and long term healthcare for the chronic illness. It can also enhance the quality of life for elderly people and chronic patients, and decrease the harm of the sudden diseases. The paper presents a distributed wireless body area network for medical supervision. The system contains three layers: sensor network tier, mobile computing network tier, and remote monitoring network tier. It provides collection, demonstration, and storage of the vital information such as ECG, blood oxygen, body temperature, respiration rate. Furthermore, it also provides medical service management and disease warning. The system has many advantages such as comfort, low-cost, low-power, easy configuration, convenient carrying, easy transplantation, real-time reliable data, and friendly human-machine interaction. And then the design and implementation issues of the system composition are discussed in this paper.

Self-testing of analog parts of mixed-signal electronic microsystems based on multiple sampling of time responses 基于时间响应多次采样的混合信号电子微系统模拟部分自测试

A new approach to self-testing of analog parts terminated by ADCs in mixed-signal electronic microsystems controlled by microcontrollers is presented. It bases on a new fault diagnosis method using a transformation of the set of voltage samples of the time response of a tested analog part to a square impulse into identification curves placed in a measurement space. The method can be used for fault detection and single soft fault localization. Modified DFT formulas are used for conversion of the measurement results to the form used by the fault detection and localization algorithm and also for creation of the fault dictionary.

Digital and network revolution has significantly changed the ways how instruments are designed and employed. These changes open up new opportunities but also introduce novel challenges, especially in instrumentation security and safety, and environmental effect domains. The paper proposes the development of new instrument quality assessment and assurance methodology, which should integrate traditional metrics of accuracy and reliability with novel standards for security, safety, and environmental impact. This integral evaluation use in instruments design and service will substantially increase safety, security, and environment levels. The methodology design principles and composition are discussed. Quality evaluation examples as well as practical cases are considered.

Accelerometer based horizon and keystone perspective correction 基于加速计的地平线和梯形视角校正

Because of improper camera orientation, pictures are often affected by perspective distortions. In this paper, we show how to use the on-board camera accelerometer to correct the horizon and keystone distortions, without requiring any human intervention. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach; they also suggest that an accurate accelerometer calibration is necessary to get a satisfying distortion removal.

Three-independent axis instrumented sphere for compression measurement based on piezoelectric transducers 基于压电换能器的三独立轴测量球体

Fruit and vegetable losses that occur after the harvest and transportation are related to a plurality of different factors but the primary causes are mechanical damages that occur due to impact, compression, and vibration. Every day, tons of foods are lost due to bad handling, transportation and storage. These losses must be avoided and the development of electronic devices that are able to detect and quantify them is an honorable task. Previous studies were done and revealed damages along the harvest and post processes. It is imperative to control all the harvest and transportation chain in order to avoid damages. Unfortunately, the previously developed devices presented high production costs, not permitting large scale production. The desirable situation is the development of low cost sensor devices to be deployed in every packing house, transportation, and storage unit to track the damages up to the final consumer. In this paper, a low cost instrumented sphere that acts like a pseudo fruit is proposed. The device is an evolution of previous works and it is based in low cost piezoelectric sensors, able to quantify compression forces. The evaluation results confirm the feasibility of these sensors and the entire purpose of this work.

The desirable situation is the development of low cost sensor devices to be deployed in every packing house, transportation, and storage unit to track the damages up to the final consumer. In this paper, a low cost instrumented sphere that acts like a pseudo fruit is proposed. The device is an evolution of previous works and it is based in low cost piezoelectric sensors, able to quantify compression forces. M-DUST: An innovative low-cost smart PM sensor M-DUST:一种创新的低成本智能PM传感器

In this work, we present M-DUST, a novel low-cost and real-time smart monitoring sensor for Particulate Matter (PM) emission measurement. It is based on the Tyndall scattering process to count particle concentration about solid aerosol (e.g., smoke, dust, etc.). A comparison on different methods to evaluate particle concentration has been discussed. A mechanical filter is used to select the particulate matter with the appropriate cut-off aerodynamic diameter. The presented device is an intelligent sensor thanks to its features, such as: ability to make self-diagnosis, self-adaptation and transparency to communication interface. Tests are carried out in the Italian city of Taranto.
