Graf will take a critical look at robotics in care settings, suggesting an alternative to the dichotomy of more human-centred and more technologie-centred approaches in human-robot interaction for care. N. K. Dalmer and K. L. Ellison will investigate how younger adults imagine technological solutions and digital and ageing futures. A. Peine, M. Fernández-Ardévol, E. Loos, A. Rosales and D. Blanche analyse the interrelatedness of digital practices and social connectedness in later life and show how digital mobiles practices not only impact notions of social connectedness, but increasingly shape them. CONCLUSION The session highlights the relevance of critical approaches in Gerontechnology, STS, Age Studies as well as critical and cultural gerontology. This project studied the innovative work that frontline care professionals do to co-construct gerontechnologies and eldercare services, and how it shapes the experience of ageing. Using semi-structured interviews with care professionals, part of this project on their professional encounters with DIY gerontechnology (4) - innovative assemblages that older adults create for themselves in order to resolve issues that available gerontechnologies do not address. Purpose The growing capacity of healthcare systems to digitize patient information is enabling the creation of large repositories of patient health data, facilitating the use of Artificial Intelligence techniques, especifically Machine Learning, to analyze this data for insights and discovery. Thanks to this, unprecedented predictions and accurate diagnosis of certain diseases are possible to achieve today. However, this increasing morass of information is a double-edged sword as it makes it difficult for health professionals to navigate and determine which information is most crucial to examine for a given pathology or health condition. Feature Selection techniques have been applied for years to help Machine Learning prediction models to determine which information is most relevant to diagnoses, as demonstrated in Remeseiro et al. (2019). Consequently, these techniques help reduce the amount of information that health professionals need to collect, reducing laborious work while making them aware of which factors are more important for the assessment in contrast with what they initially considered to be important or relevant
