Maximum Mass and Stability of Differentially Rotating Neutrons Stars 差转中子星的最大质量和稳定性

We present our study of stability of differentially rotating, axisymmetric neutron stars described by a polytropic equation of state with $Gamma = 2$. We focus on quasi-toroidal solutions with a degree of differential rotation $widetilde A=1$. Our results show that for a wide range of parameters hypermassive, quasi-toroidal neutron stars are dynamically stable against quasi-radial perturbations, which may have implications for newly born neutron stars and binary neutron stars mergers.

PDFs Determination from the LHeC pdf从LHeC测定

Deep Inelastic Scattering would be brought into the unexplored TeV regime by the the proposed Large Hadron Electron Collider at CERN. Its rich physics program, includes both precision Standard Model measurements to complement LHC physics as well as studies of QCD in the high energy limit. The present proceeding reports on studies included in the updated LHeC Conceptual Design Report. We study the impact of LHeC simulated data on Parton Distribution Functions uncertainties. We also assess the LHeC potential to allow the determination of the strong coupling constant $alpha_{S}$, at per-mille level as well as to disentangle between various scenarios of small-$x$ QCD.

We complete the model-independent analysis of the scaling properties of the differential cross section of elastic proton-proton cross sections, including new TOTEM data published in 2022 at $sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV. We separate the signal and the background region with a new gating method. In the signal region, we find that the statistical significance of Odderon exchange from the combined 7.0 and 8.0 TeV $pp$ data of TOTEM and the 1.96 TeV $pbar{p}$ data of D0 is at least 7.32$sigma$. In the background region, the scaling functions of elastic proton-proton data at 7 and 8 TeV and that of elastic proton-antiproton scattering data at 1.96 TeV agree with a statistical significance not larger than 1.93$sigma$.

Multiple Pion Pair Production in a Regge-based Model 基于regge模型的多介子对产生

Central diffractive event topologies at the LHC energies can be identified by two different approaches. First, the forward scattered protons can be measured in Roman pots. Second, a veto on hadronic activity away from midrapidity can be imposed to define a double-gap topology. Such a double-gap topology trigger has been implemented by the ALICE collaboration in Run 1 and Run 2 of the LHC. The analysis of these events allows to determine the charged-particle multiplicity within the acceptance. The excellent particle identification capabilities of ALICE allows to study two-track events both in the pion and kaon sector. Events with measured charged particle multiplicity larger than two can arise from multiple pair production. A Regge-based approach for modeling such multiple pair production is presented.

Experimental Detection of the CNO Cycle CNO循环的实验检测

Borexino recently reported the first experimental evidence for a CNO neutrino. Since this process accounts for only about 1% of the Sun’s total energy production, the associated neutrino flux is remarkably low compared to that of the pp chain, the dominant hydrogen-burning process. This experimental evidence for the existence of CNO neutrinos was obtained using a highly radio-pure Borexino liquid scintillator. Improvements in the thermal stabilization of the detector over the last five years have allowed us to exploit a method of constraining the rate of 210 Bi background. Since the CNO cycle is dominant in massive stars, this result is the first experimental evidence of a major stellar hydrogen-to-helium conversion mechanism in the Universe

Diffractive Structure Function in the Dipole Picture 偶极子图像中的衍射结构函数

We calculate the contribution from the $qbar{q}g$ component of a virtual photon state to the small-$x$ diffractive cross section in deep inelastic scattering in the saturation regime. The obtained cross section is finite by itself and a part of the full next-to-leading order result. We perform the calculation in exact kinematics in the eikonal limit, and show that the previously known high virtuality $Q^2$ and large invariant mass $M_X^2$ results for the structure functions can be extracted. We furthermore discuss the steps required to obtain the full next-to-leading order result.

We present a general formalism for the Hamiltonian description of perturbation theory around any spatially homogeneous spacetime. We employ and refine the Dirac method for constrained systems, which is very well-suited to cosmological perturbations. This approach includes a discussion of the gauge-invariant dynamics of perturbations as well as an analysis of gauge transformations, gauge-fixing, partial gauge-fixing and spacetime reconstruction. We will introduce the Kuchav{r} parametrization of the kinematical phase space as a convenient tool for studying the gauge transformations. The key element of this approach is the reconstruction of spacetime based on gauge-fixing conditions.

In this contribution, we present the main relations of the Langevin approach to the description of fission or fusion-fission reactions. The results of Langevin calculations are shown for the mass distributions of fission fragments of super-heavy elements and used for the investigation of memory effects in nuclear fission.
