Los cuerpos de las mujeres son construidos para otros. En medio del sistema patriarcal, los cuerpos feminizados quedaron relegados a la esfera privada, destinados al trabajo de cuidado, doméstico, de reproducción, a la nutrición, etcétera. Estas tareas sostienen al engranaje capitalista y se supone que son realizadas “por amor”. Este trabajo muestra los resultados de una investigación territorial con 60 mujeres de la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina, que tienen entre 20 y 60 años. Hemos indagado acerca de los trabajos de cuidado que realizan, focalizando en las experiencias en relación con el cuidar, así como también apuntamos a mapear en sus cuerpos las consecuencias de esas tareas. Metodológicamente utilizamos técnicas cualitativas como observación participante, entrevistas focalizadas, cartografía feminista y autoetnografía. Estas nos permitieron abordar las vivencias y subjetividades, así como las representaciones sociales que tienen quienes ejercen las labores de cuido. Entre los resultados, pudimos ver que los cuerpos de las mujeres continúan siendo para otras personas; no obstante, también registramos marcas de las resistencias y transgresiones a los roles que el sistema sexo-género les ha tradicionalmente impuesto.

Este artículo presenta acciones participativas y formativas desarrolladas en dos comunidades del cantón de Turrialba, provincia de Cartago, para el empoderamiento de mujeres, a partir del Proyecto Empodero de Acción Social de la Universidad de Costa Rica. El objetivo de este artículo es visibilizar los resultados obtenidos de experiencias educativas en el empoderamiento personal y bienestar general de mujeres trabajadoras del hogar, mayores de 18 años y residentes en zonas rurales. Se aplicó un cuestionario basado en la Escala de Agencia Personal y empoderamiento (ESAGE) y variables e indicadores de empoderamiento, también se llevaron a cabo llamadas telefónicas. Se analizaron las respuestas correspondientes a cada categoría de análisis para comprender las cuestiones que operan de forma subyacente, en contraste con la teoría. Entre los resultados obtenidos: la muestra manifiesta que su participación en las experiencias vividas ha contribuido a que estas mujeres se perciban seguras, capaces, con deseos de superación y con una autoestima fortalecida.

is article seeks to analyze the ideas related to the emergence of hippies in Costa Rica to understand the current annoyances of conservative groups on this counterculture. It will not only be sought to analyze part of the reactions and actions that were taken against them, but also to understand how and why "gender ideology" was interested in them. e analysis was based on a review of the news that appeared in the newspaper La República during 1968 and 1975 and current documents in which they are taken up again. e approach of this article is that hippies are useful to these conservative sectors as a metaphor to criticize a supposed ambiguity that they perceive in current societies and that is concretized in the figure of the homosexualized child. Furthermore, it is concluded that the suggested actions for hippies or homosexualized children resort in quite different power technologies.

e testimonial story Biography of a Runaway Slave by Miguel Barnet is one of the pioneers of the narrative genre and has attracted the attention of critics from the moment of its publication. e novel-testimony is seen by scholars as a text that allows the reader access to a "genuine" episteme, safeguarded by a witness of historical events. e main objective of this article is to demonstrate that the narrative of the maroon and former mambí Esteban Montejo opens new paths of reading and analyzing historical moments. In particular, the focus will be on his statements on the Cuban War of Independence. For that purpose, the theory of Subaltern Studies will be used as a methodological tool. e analysis will highlight the denial of the Afro-Cuban agency in the official history of independence in Cuba and will offer a reading of the events that recognizes the important Afro-descendant contribution.

In the 1980s, critics of the concept of security in International Relations began to address issues that until then were not the focus of studies, including migration. As part of these discussions, the academics at the Copenhagen School focused on the subjective nature of security, considering it an act of discourse. is article analyzes how the Nicaraguan authorities securitized their speech during the Cuban migrant crisis that occurred between late 2015 and early 2016. rough discourse analysis and text mining, the government's statements published in the official media El 19 Digital are examined. e rhetoric used by the Nicaraguan government during the Cuban irregular migrant crisis served the Sandinista authorities to justify the militarization of the border and regulate the flow that entered the territory, which shows how deep the security discourse has penetrated the region.

is article discusses the results of an investigation on the organizational processes developed by women in community spaces of the Western Region of Costa Rica. As a result of this research effort, a typology of these community organizations has been elaborated, distinguishing the relationships between ends and means that these groups strategically establish. Because of its qualitative approach interested in generation of formal theory, this research has constructed a conceptualization and contextualization of the organizational process and collective identities that explain the existence of 41 women's community organizations in five cantons of the Western Region.

e purpose of this article is to explain the cross-border region between Mexico and Guatemala by deconstructing the concept of border and proposing an epistemological scheme in which different analytical categories and dimensions converge for its study. It is explained that the state-centric paradigm limits openness to dialogue with other ways of imagining border regions and human mobilities. In this sense, the viewpoints, currents and approaches that have studied the border between Mexico and Guatemala as a heterogeneous concept were retaken, in order to propose in this text that the studied cross-border context is constantly reconfigured in nuances, contradictions and ambiguities.

Este artículo explora las relaciones amorosas de estudiantes mujeres que participaron en el movimiento estudiantil de 1968 en México y que reconfiguraron su prototipo de amor. Si la revolución sexual se vivió en la década de los sesenta del siglo pasado, en este texto interrogamos cómo se interiorizó en las jóvenes. ¿Su participación en el movimiento estudiantil las llevó a reconfigurar conceptos, incluido el de amor? El análisis de este proceso se apoya en entrevistas, testimonios y reflexiones de autoras feministas de esa época. Esto nos permite mostrar la diversidad de prácticas y formas de pensar que se debatían entonces y las decisiones que algunas jóvenes tomaron en la elección de pareja, sin generalizaciones ni estereotipos; es decir, entender las relaciones de género y la reconstrucción de relaciones de amistad, de amor, de lucha, de entrega, como algunas lo recuerdan, que se construyeron en aquellos 140 días de huelga en las instituciones de educación media y superior de México.
