Practical implementation of the six-port measurement system 六端口测量系统的实际实现

This paper presents a simple approach to design a six-port measurement system with all the necessary calibration. The attainable bandwidth is around one decade only, but primarily the use of the design is for the creation and evaluation of the acquisition and computing units of the measurement system.

This paper presents a novel solution for the load-pull measurement of highly mismatched power transistors by means of using a broadband impedance transformer. This technique enables the power requirements of active load-pull systems necessary to synthesize load impedances at the device reference plane to be reduced significantly compared to the mismatched system.

Cellular radio network optimization based on the C/I ratio and transmission capacity 基于C/I比和传输容量的蜂窝无线网络优化

This contribution deals with cellular radio network optimization. It is based on the realized experiment, focused on optimizing the GSM900 network. The bounded area in a rural region with smooth terrain is considered. A dual-slope, two-ray model is used for the radio signal propagation modelling. The assigning of radio channels to base stations and their emitted radio power are optimized. The main contribution of the work lies in detailed analysis of the criterion of optimization. An interesting solution was created by a study of interference analysis and reduction for wireless systems, usable network capacity, and of its overload capacity. The method of genetic algorithms is used for solving this problem. The experiment was carried out in a Matlab environment.

This paper explains conditions which can be used for measuring the insertion loss of electromagnetic interference filters. The main purpose is to design conditions which are similar to the supply network, and under these conditions realize the measurement of the filter insertion loss.

Optical wireless communication front-ends 光无线通信前端

Infrared wireless communication possesses two main attractive advantages over its radio frequency counterpart, namely the abundance of unregulated spectrum in the 700 nm 1500 nm region and the ease with which the IR radiation can be confined. Integrating microwave electronics and optics, it is possible to provide wideband communication services but it is well known that the signal level in an optical wireless receiver is weakest at the front end. Therefore, this paper identifies the technical obstacles and limitations in indoor infrared optical wireless front-ends, in addition to techniques for mitigating these effects, showing that infrared is a viable alternative to radio for certain applications.

Intermodulation distortion characterisation and analysis of the InGaP/GaAs DHBT InGaP/GaAs DHBT的互调失真特性与分析

The two-tone intermodulation distortion (IMD) characteristic behaviour of microwave InGaP/GaAs double heterojunction bipolar transistors (DHBTs) is studied. This is carried out through measurement, with the results being compared to a simple analytical technique. Both mid frequency (50 MHz) and high frequency (2 GHz) ranges are characterised and the results compared. In addition, the effect of varying input bias levels on the non-linearities has been studied.

This paper investigates forming rectangular waveguides using printed circuit boards, which would potentially offer an extremely cheap and reliable means of providing a low loss transmission line for high frequency systems. A waveguide was synthesised, using metallized vias to form the edge of the waveguide - these designs are sometimes termed SIRWs (substrate integrated rectangular waveguides).

Simulated monolithically integrated single photon counter 模拟单片集成单光子计数器

Simulations of a Geiger-mode avalanche photodiode (GMAP) monolithically integrated with its corresponding active quench and reset circuit (AQRC) are presented. The AQRC design is simulated in Agilent's ADS simulator using BSIM3 MOSFET models acquired from Europractice's 0.6 /spl mu/m CMOS process. The novelty of the design ensures a minimum dead-time of 13 ns between adjacent incident photons. This corresponds to a maximum achievable saturated count-rate of 77 Mcounts/sec, not previously reported.

Non-destructive testing of complex permittivity using a slot antenna 利用槽形天线对复介电常数进行无损检测

A planar resonant slot antenna with a ground plane aperture was developed for nondestructive testing of planar dielectric materials. Using an existing design methodology, a circuit was developed where the complex permittivity could be determined from the shift of the resonant frequency and knowledge of the thickness of the test substrate. The device was simulated using the method of moments and these simulations validated experimentally. The electric field around the aperture has also been investigated by simulation and measurement. It was found that the substrate manufacturers' values for the permittivity and tan /spl delta/ and the values as determined using this work are in agreement. In addition, the permittivity of carbon fibre composite (CFC) and nanoclay polymer substrates has also been investigated using this method.

Design of a circular polarized nearly square microstrip patch antenna with offset feed 带偏置馈电的圆极化近方形微带贴片天线设计

This paper presents the design of a circular polarized nearly square patch antenna using an offset microstrip feed. By using an offset feed instead of the normal corner feed, it is shown that the area of the perturbation segment must increase in order to maintain circular polarization. Consequently, the effect of manufacturing errors on the axial ratio is reduced. Using a fixed offset feed position, the dimensions of the antenna are uniquely obtained. The antenna is matched using a simple matching network consisting of a short length of microstrip line. A matched antenna was designed to operate at 2.45 GHz, and an axial ratio of <0.5 dB with a return loss of >20 dB was obtained experimentally. The predicted, simulated and practical results are shown to be in good agreement.
