A technique to attain dual band response of Circular Microstrip Patch Antenna (CMPA) is proposed. Meandered microstrip feeding with defected ground planes is utilized. The dielectric substrate material deployed is FR4 with a dimension of 51mm x 41mm and a total thickness of 2mm. This antenna resonates at 2.45GHz and 5.86GHz frequencies. This antenna's parametric study was conducted in terms of scattering parameter(S11), VSWR, 2D Radiation Pattern, Surface current distribution and its Gain. With the help of ANSYS Electronic Desktop 2019 R3, the impedance bandwidth is 30.61 % and 10.92%, respectively, with maximum gains of 1.6dBi and 3.5dBi in the lower and upper frequency bands. The proposed antenna could be useful for ISM, UHF RFID, WLAN, and other wireless networks.

Face-sketch to Face-photo matching or recognition is a cross domain modelling problem which identifies the face based on the given sketch query. The sketch and photo differs in their representation so matching the different representations is a challenging task. Compared to hand-crafted image descriptors deep descriptors perform well in solving the problem. Extracting the patches from the sketches and photos can improve the efficiency of the technique. This method is implemented with the benchmarked datasets CUFS, CUFSF and IIITD. The deep descriptor is developed using pre-trained CNN with triplet loss to learn the features. The method performance is better when results are compared with similar procedures.

The latest advancements in the communication field have expanded the scope for collecting information using different parameters. Due to the immense measure of unexplored areas in the sea condition, underwater sensor technology is emerging as a new and vast area for research. The primary driver of this paper is to determine the basic state of knowledge to understand wireless sensor networks (UWSN), their different types, and then focus on UWSN, along with its working, and its different types of signals used for communication and different challenges that can be faced while working with various types of communication used in underwater.

TErrestrial Trunked Radio (TETRA) is a Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) standard developed by European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) for critical communications. Filters form an integral part of the physical layer of any communication system. In this paper, the design and implementation of Pulse shaping filter and Digital Up Conversion(DUC) filters in the transmitter section of TETRA radio is proposed. Xilinx System generator blocks have been chosen for the design which can be easily ported from one FPGA platform to another and reduces time to development. The filters have been designed using MATLAB FDATool and Xilinx FIR compiler block. The design has been simulated in MATLAB/Simulink environment and ported on to an Artix-7 FPGA based custom hardware platform. The constellation and spectrum at the output of Digital-to-Analog Converter(DAC) is verified to meet the TETRA standard. Also the transmitter performance measurement parameters like Adjacent Channel Power Ratio (ACPR) and Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) are measured and verified.

This paper presents the optimal design of two dimensional sparse array based on greatest common divisor (GCD) and Particle swarm optimization (PSO). On studying the coarray properties of two dimensional arrays based on greatest common divisor, it is observed that the array based on greatest common divisor has better side lobe properties compared to regular rectangular array. The number of elements of array based on GCD can be further reduced by selectively removing some of elements. In this work elements are removed based on concept that redundancy of coarray should be located at lower lags and holes are located at higher lags. Ones the sparse array obtained from above procedure, the length and width of individual elements are optimized for achieving gain at two frequencies using Particle swarm optimization (PSO). Simulated results well agree with our expectations.

The performance of meandered line CPW fed monopole antenna with different split ring geometries for 5.8GHz applications is compared. The antenna with a hexagonal shaped split ring is designed on a 13mm x 19.8mm x 0.8mm FR4 substrate with dielectric constant 4.4 and loss tangent 0.02. As a novelty, square and circular shaped split ring resonators are incorporated in the antenna and the performance is analyzed. The simulation results of the return loss, radiation pattern, gain, VSWR and impedance characteristics exhibited by the three antennas are plotted in ANSYS HFSS version 21. The maximum gain provided by the meandered CPW fed antenna with HSRR, SSRR and CSRR are 1.8dB, 2.7dB and 2.8dB respectively and it is found that the antenna with HSRR exhibits the highest gain among the antennas with the three different split ring resonators (SRR). All the three configurations of the antenna provide a VSWR value between 1 and 2 and an impedance characteristic of approximately 50Ω.

Covid-19 Pandemic has affected the entire human kind in a devastating way and the effects it has caused to different sectors of life are not yet gauged. In this research paper we are investigating the effects the pandemic has had on the recruitment process in the campuses and on students and employers. The various perspectives of the recruitment process and the changes the students and the trainers had to make in the process are considered here. The various stakeholders of the process like the human resource (HR) managers, placement officers, students undergoing placements and students who are recently placed are considered here to get a 360-degree perspective of the same. A sentiment analysis of the data procured is performed to categorize the opinions into “Positive”, “Negative” and “Neutral” from the different stakeholders. We are using the rule based approach here to find the polarity of the sentences based on their scores. The study has disclosed the apprehensions of all the stakeholders regarding the shift from offline to online mode of recruitment and also training.

We propose a quantum identity authentication protocol, for quantum key distribution devices that use nonorthogonal state encoding in conjunction with Heisenberg uncertainty principle. The keys for authentication are used only once. The used keys are replaced with new ones. The number of keys sacrificed for the proposed authentication protocol is small and the protocol is found to be resistant to Man in The Middle attack when the number of keys used for authentication is increased. Also, this protocol is compatible with the present quantum key distribution technology.

This work presents the most extensively researched organic semiconducting polymer, poly(3-hexylthiophene) or P3HT in its thin film form. This paper mainly deals with the optical characterizations on P3HT thin films. The optical investigations include UV-Visible spectroscopy, band gap, photoluminescence and Raman spectroscopy on spin coated and annealed P3HT thin films. Optical energy band gap of annealed P3HT film is determined using Tauc's plot of direct energy band gap and it shows a tendency towards developing photosensing applications using P3HT thin films.

The standard routing technique that was developed for satisfying low power IoT application needs is RPL which is a protocol in compliance with 6LoWPAN specification. RPL was created for addressing the issues and challenges of constrained and lossy network routing. However, RPL does not accomplish efficiency with respect to power and reliability altogether which are definitely needed in IoT applications. RPL runs on routing metrics and objective function which determines the optimal path in routing. This paper focuses on contributing a comprehensive survey on the improved objective functions proposed by several researchers for RPL. In addition, the paper concentrates on highlighting the strengths and shortcomings of the different approaches in designing the objective function. The approaches built on Fuzzy logic are found to be more efficient and the relevant works related to these are compared. Furthermore, we present the insights drawn from the survey and summarize the challenges which can be effectively utilized for future works.
