Una de las principales particularidades del regimen economico de las sociedades cooperativas es, sin duda, la existencia de un fondo obligatorio cuya aplicabilidad viene expresamente regulada, no siendo los importes dotacionales que la conforman disponibles por los administradores. Se trata de la denominada por el legislador vasco como Contribucion para la educacion y promocion cooperativa y otros fines de interes publico. Si bien las especialidades de la naturaleza juridica y las finalidades perseguidas por dicho Fondo vienen siendo, ya de antiguo, materias de interes para su investigacion, se estima que tanto la aprobacion de la nueva legislacion cooperativa autonomica como la explicita referencia al fondo contenida en la legislacion aprobada al objeto de la ordenacion de la situacion excepcional de alarma por la COVID-19 invitan a profundizar en el estudio de su evolucion juridica y practica (eventuales y potenciales destinos). The purpose of this paper lies in presenting the fifth cooperative principle concerning education, training and information as an optimal tool to promote decent work within cooperatives. In fact, the current global decent work deficit requires efficient and urgent answers. To that end, first, we will briefly study the scope of the concept of decent work. After that, we will highlight the significance of cooperatives as appropriate entities to promote decent work. The purpose of this article is to identify the deficiencies present in the Puertorrican workers cooperatives law, and to propose those changes that are required to make such statute a better instrument for the promotion and development of workers cooperatives as an alternative to the difficulties created by the capitalist enterprises for the working class. Such, departing from the analysis and identification of those elements inherently tied to the capitalist work system that has to be overcome as result of any new legislation truly intended to foster the free and democratic associations of worker’s in their own productive enterprises. Housing cooperatives have several distinctive features with respect to the other types of cooperatives, in particular, the economic regime of the amounts disbursed by their members. These contributions carry a specific accounting record, with a direct effect on the Shareholders’ Equity of the Society, which is also different from that in other types of societies. Such issues inevitably affect the liability regime of the cooperative society and the members that comprise it against debts with third-party creditors. Thus, taking into consideration that the Basque Law regulates the seizable or non-seizable nature of the items that make up the Shareholders’ Equity, it is interesting to study the seizability of the contributions disbursed by the members whether or not they add to the Equity. The principle of education, training and information is a strategic principle in cooperatives. It is a condition for the applicability and effectiveness of other principles, namely the principle of democratic member control, voluntary and open membership, and the principle of interest for the community. It is a polyvalent principle, comprising the vectors of education, training and information, addressed to members, elected representatives, leaders, workers of the cooperative and the community. Education and training oriented to the civic, organizational and professional qualification of the cooperators, of the management and supervisory board holders, and the workers will contribute to a better understanding of the models of governance and supervision of the cooperative, strengthening the professionalization of the management and inducing the cooperators to participate actively in their cooperative, to deliberate correctly in the assemblies, to consciously elect its bodies and to control its performance. By addressing the general public, cooperative information allows the dynamic insertion of cooperatives in the community, making them aware of the nature and benefits of cooperation, thus enhancing conscious membership. In Portugal, this principle is projected in the legal status of cooperators, through the recognition of a right to participate in cooperative education and training activities, with the consequent obligation of cooperatives to organize such education, training and information activities, and for this purpose must constitute a reserve, which is absolutely indivisible, constituting one of the significant specificities of the legal regime of Portuguese cooperatives. The purpose of this paper lies in answering the question of why cooperatives need to focus the attention on the training of their members and workers in environmental aspects. As the main hypothesis, we consider that there are three reasons that lead to the concern of cooperatives about the environment and, therefore, to the need of training in this issue, in coherence with the fifth cooperative principle. In this sense, firstly, we will address the impact that the exposure to certain means or environments can cause on the cooperative members and workers. It entails the need to study the ways in which the prevention is organized and managed in front of environmental risks in cooperatives, as well as to see the peculiarities of cooperatives in this regard. Secondly, we will study the impact of the cooperative work in the environment. Therefore, we will address the way in which that impact can be managed in cooperatives before the mandate derived from the seventh cooperative principle. Finally, we will delve into the importance of considering environment for the purpose of looking for new markets in the green and blue economy. From a methodological perspective, we will follow, on the one hand, the descriptive and comparative methods in order to analyse the applicable rules applicable in the subject, and, on the other hand, the proactive method in order to give an answer to the issues that are not contemplated in regulations. This paper analyzes the causes that affect the rural sector in Colombia, making farmers vulnerable. The situation is made worse as a result of the seed certification regime that prohibits farmers from replanting non-certified parental material. The authors present some reflections from an analytical-deductive approach, with an invitation to rethink the role of the State, to guarantee their rights. As a result, the cooperativism is proposed as a solution to this problem, through rural cooperatives as a driving force for the recovery and revitalization of the countryside. It is generally accepted that cooperative education is a cooperative principle since the very origins of the cooperatives and throughout their history. It is also accepted, and claimed, that legislation recognizes the cooperative principles as characteristics of cooperatives. However, differently from what happens with the other principles, it is not clear the manner in which legislations should take charge of this particular principle bearing in mind its peculiar nature. This paper analyzes education in the experience and in the doctrine of cooperatives along the history paying attention to its sense and evolution through time and the varying contextual conditions. From this platform its outlook is considered in the field of cooperative legislation pointing the mechanisms that are designed for its reception in a declared o implicit form, trying to determine the degree to which they effectively materialize the principle or, instead, just become a mere declaration without any practical effect. Corporativism in Nicaragua has been, is and will be, in the medium and long term, a key factor in socio-economic development. Despite the different political regimes, cooperativism has not only been maintained, but has developed and consolidated, becoming today a key part of the country's economic structure. However, the wealth of this figure from a philosophical and conceptual analysis allows to extend and overcome its hither to reduced economic conception and to transfer it to other social areas. If current problems call for new answers, solutions may come from updating existing figures. This question is the one that this short essay goes through, articulating the reality of cooperativism and the role it plays as a driver of development in other areas, such as the environment, social exclusion and Social Security.
