A Web-based mobile medical monitoring system 基于web的移动医疗监测系统

A hospital-wide mobile medical monitoring system is described. Telemetry devices are attached to patients to acquire, store and process continuous data about their state of health. Medical staff may examine real-time graphical information and make comparisons with historical data. Parameters may be set to cause an automatic alert to portable devices held by appropriate staff if a patient requires urgent observation. The system uses the services provided by Internet and intranet to allow remote supervision and consultation. A hardware/software prototype has been constructed to demonstrate real-time data acquisition, wireless transmission/reception and connection to the World Wide Web. The real-time, supervisory and remote-teaching aspects of the software system are being designed and are in the process of implementation.

GMSK neural network based demodulator 基于GMSK神经网络的解调器

The pattern recognition characteristics of the Artificial Neural Networks are used to realise a real demodulator for Gaussian Minimum Shift-Keying signals, used in the GSM telecommunications. The demodulator utilizes the learning vector quantization (LVQ) neural network. It offers both greater efficiency in demodulating and less sensitivity to noise. In order to solve the problem regarding input signal synchronization, a pre-processing phase is organised. The demodulator prototype has been realised by implementing the pre-processing phase and the LVQ neural network on TMS320C30 digital signal processor. The demodulator has been tested according to the European Telecommunication Standard Institute recommendations.

The new methods of switch-mode power supply (SMPS) design, that are based on use of high-frequency amorphous materials with a rectangular hysteresis loop (RHL), are described. The operating principles of high-frequency magnetic amplifiers in voltage regulators are explained. Their advantages are discussed in comparison with transistor analogues. The structure of a multi-channel SMPS with equivalent and independent output channels is shown. The features of high-frequency non-regulated transistor invertor operation are described. A method of including parallel operations of separate SMPSs is offered. The main specifications of a multi-output SMPS and also examples of its design for computer facilities are discussed.

The influence of the measurement errors can be reduced using multi-sensor fusion technologies. Competitive algorithms are one of prospective class of sensor fusion (SF) algorithms, which are used in sensor fusion techniques during the processing of sensor measurements to achieve more accurate measurement results than measurement by a each single sensor.

Development of a stand alone monitoring system (S.A.MO.S.) 开发独立监测系统(s.a.mos)

Environmental monitoring is nowadays a common instrumentation application, not only in cases where scientific information is needed, but also for pollution control and development planning of certain sensitive areas. This paper describes the development of a standalone monitoring system (S.A.MO.S.) which is actually a complete monitoring station for environmental measurements in rivers, lakes, lagoons and other sensitive eco-systems. S.A.MO.S. is capable of performing scheduled measurements by sensors or other independent electronic measuring instruments, and stores data locally in a memory module. Measurement data may then be transferred to a PC system for further analysis either by using a cellular phone network or via a UHF transceiver. Validation of measurements is achieved by the system's self check control and warning signals can be sent to authorized personnel in case of errors. The basic features and the configuration of this system are presented in this work.

Measurement of SCI patient's buttock pressure on wheelchair and bed 脊髓损伤患者在轮椅和床上的臀压测量

The prevention of pressure sores is a serious problem for patients with spinal cord injuries (SCI). It is most important for SCI patients to relieve their buttock pressure for the prevention of pressure sores. Many kinds of pressure-relieving cushions and mattresses have been developed to distribute the weight evenly and widely. We previously measured the buttock pressure of SCI patients using the Tekscan pressure measurement system to evaluate the pressure distribution. In this study, we propose the evaluating system of the buttock pressure distribution. Using this system, the medical staff can easily adjust the air quantity of the air cushion for each SCI patient for prevention of pressure sores. Moreover we measured the buttock pressure on four kinds of posture on the bed to clear the pressure relieving effect of the mattress. The air mattress has a large pressure relieving effect at sacrococcygeal regions in all postures on the bed.

The experimental design in tasks of interval models identification 区间模型识别任务的实验设计

The technique of optimal experimental design based on I/sub G/- and I/sub E/-criteria for problems of linear multifactor interval model identification is presented. It is shown that I/sub G/-, I/sub E/-optimal saturated designs are orthogonal and equivalent to I/sub D/- and I/sub A/-optimal saturated designs. The consequent design procedure of optimal experiments for synthesis of a linear interval model is considered.

A modified impulsive force and pressure sensor intended for waveform reconstruction purposes 一种改进的脉冲力和压力传感器,用于波形重建目的

The correction of the effect of dispersion on the accuracy of processing in a Hopkinson bar type mechanical transducer enables extension of its application in measurements of impulsive force and pressure of short duration onto the dispersive operating range. In the experimental methods of correction two point processing of the strain inside the bar is usually applied. This way the dispersive characteristic of the bar is determined, and also the process of reconstructing waveforms is carried out. In the paper a sensor of impulsive force and pressure with one-point processing of the strain inside the bar is presented, in which the incident wave as well as the first reflected one, generated by the input function are utilised. Temporal restrictions of the input function and spatial restrictions of mounting strain gauges on the bar, preventing the superposition of the incident and the first reflected pulses in the strain gauges are given. The non-superposition of these pulses is the condition of the sensor functioning correctly. The way to use the sensor in a transformation reconstruction method of impact force waveform, is demonstrated. The advantage of the described sensor is the reduction in the complexity of the amplification circuit and the output signal processing circuit and also the improved processing accuracy.

A necessary background for a clear outline of each science existing in this fast-changing world is its permanent development, in terms of both its theoretical and applied aspects, for solving today's problems and for visions of the future. In this respect, for the modern sciences, the more important role is played by theories, which not only generalize and explain the known facts and phenomena but also serve for predicting and achieving new levels of knowledge. In this paper, methods of teaching in the discipline of distributed measurement systems are presented, and, in particular, laboratory exercises carried out by the students of the Faculty of Automation and the English Language Department of Engineering at the Technical University of Sofia.
