This paper would present a techno-economic potential and feasibility analysis in the planning of renewable biogas energy from palm oil mills effluent (POME) in PenajamPaser Utara Regency. The analysis was done based on the last three-year production data history of 7 (seven) palm oil processing factories in the region. The total fresh fruit bunches processed were about 891.624 tons/year, and the POME produced was 553.677 tons/year. The total potential electricity generated from POME reached 43.248.101 kWh/year. The factories took place in Babulu, Waru, Penajam, and Sepaku. The assessment of sustainability indicators in this research took into account the technology and economic aspects. The technology helps evaluate the technical planning of installations that are possible to build in the area. The economic aspect of sustainability evaluates the net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and the payback period of renewable energy installation. This analysis aimed to get a comprehensive insight from the potential biomass energy that exists at the research locations and conduct a feasibility study based on techno-economic analysis to develop renewable energy. The results showed that Sepaku had the most significant potential of biogas by producing 1.752 Nm3/hour of biogas and generating 3.28 MW continuous power with a feed-in tariff of IDR1.065,462 IDR/kWh. The electricity was feasible to offer to the government electrical company. Moreover, this project had a payback period of 7.51 years and an IRR Project of 12.90% for private investors.

This paper investigated the technical and economic feasibility of on-board boil-off gas reliquefaction system on a liquefied natural gas tanker ship which has 154,852 m3 cargo tank capacity operated in Tangguh Field Indonesia by comparing three systems available in the market for mini liquefied natural gas liquefaction, i.e. single nitrogen system, ethylene and propylene refrigerant system, and Joule Thomson cycle. All three systems were evaluated through chemical process modelling software and through sensitivity analysis by varying the boil-off gas and liquefied natural gas price comparing the net present value and internal rate of return. The sensitivity analysis result shows that the Joule Thomson cycle is more economic compared than the other two systems within the range of marine gas oil price must not higher than US$640/ton on liquefied natural gas price US$10/mmbtu or liquefied natural gas price must not less than US$7/mmbtu on marine gas oil price US$400/ton.

Shipbuilding industry is an industry that is always evolving over time. One of the problems of the shipbuilding industry is a large shipbuilding costs, due to hull shape that requires the bending process to adjust to the shape of the ship. To overcome these problems, a type of vessel designed using the flat surface hull to reduce the production cost of the ship. The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the stability of the designed fast ship that applies a flat surface hull. The objective of this paper is to carried out stability analysis of flat surface hull by simulation through the MaxSurf application. The main dimension of the flat surface hull that used in this study are length overall is 13.9 meter, beam 3.4 meters, and the draft is 0.85 meter. Maxsurf stability is used to find the GZ curve of ships with nine different loading conditions. The result shows the stability if flat surface hull meet the all criteria by International Maritime Organization with angle of maximum GZ above 25 deg.

Indonesia is one of the largest palm oil producers in the world. Acrolein and propylene glycol can be produced from glycerol as a byproduct of palm oil-based biodiesel whereas they are still imported by Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to determine the economic potential of combined acrolein and propylene glycol production from crude glycerol with production capacities of 11,094 tons/year and 70,001 tons/year, respectively. The production gives a Net Present Value of USD 376,600,000, Internal Rate of Return of 149.94%, Payback Period of 1.26 years, Profitability Index of 8.22. The cessation of acrolein and propylene glycol imports can Indonesia's foreign exchange nearly USD 207,427,000/year where the domestic demand can be fulfilled by the plant of combined products proposed in the present work.
