La casa en el Antiguo Régimen, es, sin duda, un indicador social que forma parte de la trayectoria de los individuos y familias que la constituyen. Este análisis lo realizaremos desde la perspectiva de las trayectorias residenciales de diez viviendas en la villa de Madrid, tratadas en la larga duración, con el fin de observar las rupturas y continuidades en sus procesos de movilidad. Intentaremos conjugar las dinámicas de la trayectoria de la vivienda con los sustentos materiales e inmateriales que la sostienen - arquitectura doméstica, mercado inmobiliario, sistema hereditario, dotes matrimoniales, domesticidad- con el fin de precisar los cambios y estrategias que se gestan en torno a la vivienda en la capital de España entre los siglos XVII y XIX.

Even though in the second half of the 1620’s the relationship between the Hispanic Monarchy and France were damaged and the confrontation between them both threatened with the outbreak of war, in 1627 they put aside their differences and signed an agreement to help the French Monarchy against the English attack. This paper analyzes that controversial agreement, aiming to explain the reasons behind it, how it was developed and the consequences that it had between the two powers.

The aim of this work is to analyse the female heads of household in three localities in Palencia: Paredes de Nava, Fuentes de Don Bermudo and Frechilla, using the data contained in the Ensenada tax work. The aim is to find out their age, their marital status, the family typology that predominated in their homes and the survival strategies they developed in the absence or definitive absence of the male. This work will contribute to the knowledge of women in a geographical area where research on this subject is still scarce.

The difficult achievement of democracy in Spain during the inter-war period serves as the backbone of this analysis of the village of Pinos Genil in Granada and its political and social transformation. From the chieftainship of the Restoration came the militarism of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera and from there a new democratising stage, characterised by reforms and instability –violent altercations and even attacks– which was soon interrupted by the uprising of part of the army, the war and the Franco dictatorship. In order to carry out the historical analysis, a multi-scale methodology has been used, ranging from the local to the general, with the final idea of understanding the main political transformations in this rural Andalusian town during the first third of the twentieth century.

Violence against the performance of political power was present in the Modern Age and its result was the murder of several representatives of royal authority. The attack perpetrated in 1708 againts the mayor of Ronda Moguel de Salamanca Quiñones, manifested itself as public crime with serius social repercussions, although in circumstances of apparent normality in the daily course of life in an important Andalusian city. Despite the long process that condemned the culprit, the criminal of noble origin did not serve his sentence, since he found facilities for his escape and disappearance.

The process of the third Duke of Osuna involved a great variety of characters with whom he maintained some type of collaboration during his years as viceroy. One of these characters was the marquis of Charela, with whom Osuna not only shared common interests, but also misfortunes from the moment they both dediced to collaborate together. In this article, based in the analysis of a lawsuit held in 1623 over the whereabouts or nearly 50.000 escudos during the viceroralty of Osuna in Sicily, it is intended no only yo know how this collaboration between the two characters worked, but also to make visible a new form of study on the process of Osuna.

El proyecto modernizador del cuestionado presidente electo Carlos Salinas de Gortari consistió en estrechar vínculos con Estados Unidos en todas las áreas de la relación bilateral. La reactivación de los mecanismos de legitimación y la diplomacia cultural fueron estrategias centrales de su gobierno. Para ello fue clave el momento creado en Nueva York por la exposición Mexico: Splendors of Thirty Centuries (1990) y más de doscientos eventos paralelos. Éstos fueron integrados en el programa Mexico: A Work of Art, gestionado por la burocracia cultural de Salinas. A través de entrevistas y documentos mexicanos y estadounidenses, el presente trabajo permite identificar continuidades y rupturas de las prácticas políticas de estos operadores, así como arrojar luz sobre los eventos neoyorkinos de 1990. En su papel de coordinadores-mediadores, estos operadores reactivaron un tipo de centralización estatal, sortearon las demandas de liberalización de la época e hicieron de nuevo de la cultura un mecanismo diplomático y legitimador rentable.
