Purpose: Immigrants comprise about 14% of the existing population of the United States. The period under Trump administration and COVID-19 in particular have been challenging for immigrants. The goal of this review was to present a landscape of immigrants in the US and their experiences during the exclusionary environment under Trump administration and the pandemic. Method: The study presents descriptive findings and chi-square results utilizing data collected from a survey. Our sample (N = 490) was collected during the early 2021. Results: Findings indicate differences in COVID experiences, stress impact as a result of travel bans, and resiliency by race. Minority communities compared to those who were White were disproportionately impacted. Discussion and Conclusion: By drawing on the literature, research and policy briefs and the study data, we discuss mental health implications and increased discrimination against immigrants. We propose ways in which researchers, practitioners and policy advocates can enhance support for immigrants. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2023 APA, all rights reserved)

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) is a cognitive-behavioral treatment program created in 1987 and implemented in correctional-treatment settings across all US states. Social workers and social work practicum students are among MRT’s facilitators. This scoping review article explores the evidence-based literature supporting MRT. First, we analyze the reliability and validity of the most recent meta-analysis of MRT, covering studies published between 1988 and 2010. We then explore findings of a scoping review of peer-reviewed research published between 2011 and 2021. Our review of 669 articles identified through Google Scholar and eleven academic databases yielded zero peerreviewed studies on MRT’s effectiveness or outcomes. We explore themes that emerged from the exclusion criteria to describe how MRT’s evidence claims may be inflated. Finally, we explore implications for social work educators and practitioners.

Purpose Method Results Discussion The study examined whether parental care and family support moderate the association between school bullying victimization and cyberbullying victimization among college students by applying the social anthropological approach and social control theoryData were collected for 261 college students (57.9% female) aged between 18 to 24 or older from a university in the Midwest region of the United States. A latent moderated structural equations approach was utilizedThe data revealed that bullying victimization was positively associated with cyberbullying victimization. Moreover, parental care was a significant moderator between bullying victimization and cyberbullying victimizationThese findings have implications of preventing victims of bullying becoming victims of cyberbullying. Parental involvement especially needs to be emphasized for college students’ cyberbullying prevention and intervention programs. [FROM AUTHOR]《Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work》(2640-8066)版权归Taylor & Francis Ltd所有,未经版权所有者明确书面许可,不得将其内容复制或通过电子邮件发送到多个网站或发布到listserv。
