The COVID-19 lockdown has its own set of problems for the people. However, the lockdown opened many gateways for the people to make themselves happy and active in their liking. This exploratory research study has also attended to identify the constructs related to happiness resulting from lockdown. For this expressive exploration, the research was carried out on 506 respondents from the Gujarat state of India through a structured questionnaire, followed by information processing. The data was processed by applying the Kruskal Wallis test and Mann Whitney U test to derive the conclusion. When the questionnaire was administered, open-ended questions were asked to the respondents. They revealed that even in the tough time of the COVID-19 outbreak, they identified various activities that cater to happiness and chose to keep themselves engaged in motivating themselves to fight against a hard time as a ray of hope!

In poverty-stricken countries, the middle class usually falls out of focus in fiscal policy discussions, especially during crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic. This research aims to determine if the pandemic has impacted subjective well-being (SWB) and financial anxiety (FAS) for a middle-class Bangladeshi sample. During 14-24 July 2020, 129 respondents completed a self-reported survey questionnaire. The results indicate that although people are happy in general, they are worried about their relationships. Women score lower on total well-being, as do those with household incomes below the average. People living outside the capital score marginally higher, people with well-secured jobs denote their higher well-being too. Furthermore, the FAS results indicate higher levels of anxiety among people with lower incomes and unsecured jobs. Therefore, the COVID-19 experience might inform future fiscal policies, including the potential to introduce universal job security insurance and financial counselling to employees after the pandemic.

The classical labour supply theory and the theory of allocation of time have discussed time allocation decisions between work and leisure and their utility outcome. In recent studies, happiness is discussed as a component in the utility function. In this paper, we examine the three-way relationship between work, leisure, and happiness. We use an Ordered Logistic model to analyse data from the World Values Survey (WVS) for the years 2001, 2008, 2012 and 2018 for Egypt. Our results suggest that higher importance assigned to work is associated with higher levels of happiness, and higher importance assigned to leisure over work is associated with lower levels of happiness. The study provides a host of alternative specifications using subsamples of the original sample. The study concludes that the contribution of work to the happiness of individuals is linked to cultural and social attributes of the Egyptian society rather than material outcomes.

This paper introduces an analysis of the relationship that boys and girls establish with the spaces in which they live, taking into account their satisfaction with the neighbourhood and their well-being, and paying special attention to the daily situation of boys and girls who reside in cities of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. In terms of methodology, it is a research study in which the quantitative method was used and the International Survey of Children's Well-being (ISCWeB) was applied; an instrument created by Children's Worlds - international research network devoted to the study of child well-being all over the world. We worked with boys and girls between 8 and 10 years of age, during the period 2015-2018. The primary results reveal that children experience an intermediate level of satisfaction with their neighbourhood, and a lower level of satisfaction with the feeling of safety when walking through the streets of the neighbourhoods they inhabit.
