In this paper, an Integral Sliding Mode Control (ISMC) is presented to extract maximum power from photovoltaic (PV) system in the presence of uncertainties. The considered SISO system is affected by bounded uncertainty, which is directly effecting desire output of PV system. The main objective of this paper is to design such closed loop control system which can tolerate the uncertainty and make possible the maximum power extraction from PV system. Hence, ISMC is proposed as a robust control mechanism against these uncertainties. The efficiency of the presented concept is demonstrated in detail, using results of numerical simulations.

This paper proposes a Three-phase D-STATCOM with digital current control strategy in abc- reference frame. The proposal D-STATCOM does not use a PLL and the reactive power is transferred to the grid through controlling the D-STATCOM output current. The current controller has one zero and two poles. This type of controller is also known as Type-2 controller. The procedure to tune the controller is explained. The Conservative Power Theory (CPT) is used to compute the reactive power of the loads. A case study shows the behavior of the D-STACOM during initialization, during load transitions and during steady-state conditions. The results show the efficacy of the proposed D-STATCOM.

Dense Wavelength Division multiplexing (DWDM) is a promising technology that has ability to provide potentially unlimited transmission capacity to meet the growing demand of bandwidth in optical fiber communication systems. In this paper, we have proposed a dual polarized 128-QAM DWDM communication system consisting of 8 channels. The data rate of each channel is set to 90 Gbits/sec and simulations are carried out by using single mode fiber (SMF) of 80 km. Dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) of appropriate length is used for dispersion compensation. Linear impairments are controlled by using appropriate optical amplifier in addition to the DCF. The model is tested by varying the data rates, length of SMF and filter gain. Lumped and distributed configurations of amplifiers are used to find the optimal results. Comparison of Gaussian and Bessel optical filters is also made in the proposed system. The results are presented by using constellation diagrams, EVM and BER plots in licensed version of Optisystem v.14.

Nowadays, a tremendous amount of data is produced every single day by computational systems and electronic instruments, whether its an online transaction or data manipulation over the internet, security has dependably remained the best concern in any correspondence communication system. The amount of information to be exchanged is not the problem. The essential variable is the Channel, through which the data is transferred, ought to be secured. So in terms of secure transmission of data, the best technique usually used these days is cryptography. Cryptography is a procedure of making data incomprehensible to an unapproved individual. Different cryptographic algorithms can be utilized in a very efficient manner. In a perfect world, a user needs the best cryptographic algorithm with low cost and high in performance measure. So for the critical needs of the user, the cryptographic algorithm chose the best algorithm amongst existing algorithms. This research paper presents a neat and clean study of various cryptographic algorithms (DES, 3DES, AES, RSA) based on the computational complexity and performance measure.

This paper presents a system to analyse the bowling action in Cricket. The aim of the system is to calculate the elbow-flex angle of the bowler to examine the action as legal or illegal. Kinect Xbox 360 sensor is used to acquire the video of the complete action of the player. We have tested two methods for measuring angle of flex, that are marker-based techniques and marker-less techniques. Marker-less technique is used to find out the elbow-flex angle in which angle calculation is done by detecting skeleton points using built-in libraries of MATLAB and Java. Marker-based technique is used to find out the elbow flex angle in which angle calculation is done by detecting the markers attached on the body of the bowler. Once the action is analysed using single camera, multiple Kinect cameras are then interfaced for testing the bowling action from different angles. At the end, the angle of the elbow is obtained through the marker-based system is compared with the actual angle and discussed the accuracy of both systems.

Speech quality assessment is one of the active research area in the field of communication and signal processing. In this paper, we proposed a new method to predict the quality of non-intrusive speech signals. This work uses the natural spectro-gram statistical (NSS) properties of speech signals. Undistorted speech follows a natural pattern, which is changed in the presence of distortion. The deviation of NSS in the presence of distortion is used to assess the quality of speech signals by extracting features using the generalized Gaussian distribution and mean subtracted contrast normalized coefficients of the spectrogram. The proposed methodology assess the quality of speech signals without the use of reference speech signal. Experimental results show that the proposed methodology gives high correlation of 0.92 and 0.89, and lowest root-mean-squared error of 0.16 and 0.21 on NOIZEUS-930 and CSTR VCTK Corpus datasets respectively when compared with state-of-the-art speech quality assessment techniques.

Domestic sector of Pakistan profoundly leans on grid electricity, generated by fossil fuel sources. Fossil fuels are big source of environmental pollution, but renewable energy sources lead to clean and economically reasonable generation of electric power. This paper presents a completely elucidated wind solar hybrid micro grid system for domestic consumers as an entire replacement of the prevailing electricity system of homes i.e. electricity from the grid. This work also provides the cost analysis for proposed wind solar hybrid micro grid used on a domestic level and illustrates the energy conservations in future when the presented system is employed for the energy consumers at small scales. It also points out the ginormous figures of power reservation when advanced elongation of same wind and solar system is carried out. Calculations conclude that conservation of around 350MWh/year with utilization of the presented system. A case study for Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) consumers (after employing proposed hybrid power system) estimates a preservation of worth 627 million US dollars/month.

Blockchain technology allows an open, trustless and democratic organization structure, where software engineers in the world can contribute towards open source and community-owned software products, and can receive compensations for their contributions. The idea of designing Blockchain-based Open-source Community (BOC) is rapidly growing however, lack of the future envision of Global Software Engineering (GSE) based open coordination. This limit the self-evolvability and coordination within the existing BOCs. This paper, presents the existing BOCs and demonstrates how their design limits the open coordination. Then, this paper presents a self-evolving design of BOC which based on the third generation modular architecture of the Blockchain and open intercloud architecture. Such a design will allow the dynamic infrastructure and open coordination within the community. To demonstrate presented community design, paper discusses one of the most commonly used case study in GSE, from organization structure maintenance to the technical level, in context of the solutions provided by presented design. Researchers can employ the presented modular selfe-volving BOC design towards addressing the research challenges associated with BOC and engineers can use it as reference when implement or maintain a BOC. Researchers can employ the presented modular self-evolving BOC design towards addressing the research challenges associated with BOC and engineers can employ it when implement or maintain a BOC to allow open-coordination.

In the processing of image de-noising, wavelet thresholding is an imported technique to refine the image from noisy components. Images are such as information which is transmitted from one source to another. During this transmission different noises are also added in the original information. The purpose is to introduce such type of technique to remove noises such as Gaussian noise from the images so that least extent of data carrying information diminish with the extreme removal of unwanted noisy components. We use Generalized Gaussian distribution for modeling. For the extraction of the original image, a hybrid scheme of thresholding is proposed. This algorithm is implemented and simulated in MATLAB using parameters like mean square error (MSE), peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR), visual quality and structural similarity index (SSIM). It is observed from the analysis that the hybrid technique gives result better than existing de-noising techniques. The computational complexity is less and provides better edge preserving during filtration.

Design arrangements for three ferrites integrated substrate surfaced magnetically resonance coupled (MRC) wire-less power transfer (WPT) model is presented. Their layout and simulated results are tested. Ferrite plate and core are incorporated with the proposed wireless power transfer system and achieved the efficiency from 16.6 % to 52 %. For small electronics devices, different ferrite designs and their effect on nearby metallic objects are observed and mitigated. Results show that defined Ferrite configuration is a best solution for confining electromagnetic field and reduce its effects by the foreign materials.
