Adaptive multiuser receiver schemes for antenna arrays 天线阵列的自适应多用户接收方案

This paper develops a new multiuser detector for antenna arrays. The receiver uses an adaptive multiuser receiver in a multiple sensor environment. Using this receiver, two schemes are proposed for use with antenna arrays. The first scheme is a simple extension of the multiuser detection scheme to a multisensor environment, and has a performance better than the single channel decorrelator detector. The second scheme adaptively implements an array-decorrelator detector, which exploits both spatial and code diversity. It is different from the first scheme in that it uses the array response vector estimates of each user to reduce the correlation between users’s transmitted signal. It therefore, avoids the reduction in performance when signature correlations become significant.

Adaptive infrared time division multiple access (AIR TDMA) for an in-house wireless hybrid LAN 用于内部无线混合局域网的自适应红外时分多址(AIR TDMA)

We present two versions of access methods that are TDMA variants for a network composed of a wired backbone and of infrared cells. This in-house network has been studied to make mobile stations communicate with fixed stations in an industrial context. The access to the wireless medium is managed by the distribution of time slots by a specific wired station that knows the distribution of the mobiles within the installation. The first variant of TDMA consists of grouping the cells into classes in such a way that all the cells of the same class could have access to the wireless channel during the same time slot. The right of access to the wireless medium is then distributed among those classes where at least one cell has a mobile in range. In the second method, time slots are distributed to cells that will actually use this slot to communicate with some mobiles. The originality of this method lies in the way it can adapt to the evolution of the mobiles position inside this cellular network. The simulation results presented allow us to compare the access frequency to the wireless channel. They show the advantages of the second method.

Estimation of indoor infrared channel parameters using neural networks 基于神经网络的室内红外通道参数估计

The indoor infrared channel is modeled as a linear baseband channel. The parameters of this channel are used for the design of communication systems using infrared light as the carrier of information for indoor wireless communications. For many applications, we need to know the spatial distribution of channel parameters such as the received optical power and the delay spread. The simulation process that yields those results is a very time consuming process. We propose using the simulation software to train a neural network using a fraction of the required points and then use the neural network to generate the desired parameters. The results presented show the excellent capability of the neural networks to mimic the simulation software for the purpose of generating the desired set of parameters for an indoor infrared channel. The process is much faster than the simulation software and proper use of sampling set selection yields highly accurate results from the neural network.

Viterbi decoding with dual timescale traceback processing 维特比解码与双时间尺度回溯处理

A new approach to traceback processing in Viterbi decoders is presented. The approach reduces memory requirements as compared to previous approaches by using different speeds during acquisition of the best trellis path and the subsequent decoding of a block of data. This dual timescale approach allows in-place updating of the stored information and matches the constraints of commodity semi-custom technologies, where (at the considered high dock rates) write accesses to a RAM usually require more than one clock cycle.

A capacity effect of bridging functionality applied to wireless packet datalink 应用于无线分组数据链路的桥接功能的容量效应

This paper calculates the capacity efficiency of various data link methods in wireless LAN communications. For LAN communications, the packet reachability between mobile stations within the same cell should be guaranteed, as intracell communication is important. In order to realize this, we have proposed a bridging functionality which automatically transfers the packet at an access point when the source cannot send the packet to destination directly. The theoretical capacity efficiency is calculated and compared against other methods, non-bridging (i.e., direct communications) and full-time bridging (i.e., the access point always bridges data). The evaluation results show that the proposed method is always efficient.

Adaptive combination of cancelling co-channel interference and decoding of error-correcting codes for DS-SS CDMA mobile communication system DS-SS CDMA移动通信系统中同信道干扰消除与纠错码解码的自适应组合

This paper introduces an adaptive cascaded combination of cancelling co-channel interference (CCI) and decoding of error-correcting codes for a DS-SS CDMA mobile communication system. The analysis of a previous study by Shaheen and Gupta (see IEEE IPCCC Proceedings, Phoenix, Arizona, March 1995) indicated that conventional CCI cancellation techniques might not be as effective, especially for heavily loaded mobile communication systems. This paper extends this work by incorporating integrated filtering and decoding techniques. The extended system is evaluated under the same extreme interference conditions where the receiver is subjected to intersymbol interference (ISI), multi-access interference (MAI), and co-code CCI (CCCCI) generated within the mother cell and from the neighboring cells. Theoretical and simulation results are developed to evaluate the proposed system performance using signal to noise ratio (SNR) and bit error rate (BER) versus number of interfering users from within the cell and from the surrounding cells, and the normalized mean square error (MSE) in parameters estimation.

Capacity improvement of microcellular systems using signal cyclic spectral properties 利用信号循环频谱特性改进微蜂窝系统容量

In FDMA digital cellular systems signijcant enhancement to capacity may be achieved if overlap of adjacent channel signal spectra could be tolerated. A receiver structure is proposed to recover data in the presence of significant interchannel interference. The proposed receiver takes full advantage of spectral redundancies in the digitally modulated signals and allows for a significant reduction in the channel spacing, This resulting increase in available channels increases the system capacity. The proposed system is analyzed and simulated~for BPSK modulation, however, the concept is quite general and is applicable to other modulation formats.

A frequency and timing period acquisition technique for OFDM systems 一种用于OFDM系统的频率和定时采集技术

Symbol Pattern Abstract This paper introduces a frequency and timing period acquisition technique for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. The proposed technique estimates both the frequency and timing pesiod offsets at the time by using only one pilot symbol with its suitable frequency assignment. Pseudo noise (PN) sequences are introduced to assign these frequencies of the pilot symbol so that the acquisition range can be widened. Numerical examples are given to show the estimate variances for both additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and multipath fading channels.

An optimizable guard-channel-based handover procedure for mobile microcellular systems 一种可优化的基于保护信道的移动微蜂窝系统切换程序

In mobile macrocellular systems the effectiveness of queueing and/or channel reservation for handover requests has been widely proved. The authors have recently proposed a priority-based handover algorithm for a mixed macro-microcellular environment. The effectiveness of a combined use of handover request queueing at microcell level and handover channel reservation at macrocell level has been shown. However, the use of reserved (guard) channels for handover requests needs for a proper compromise between system performance and frequency reuse efficiency. In fact, any channel which is reserved for handovers contributes to decrease the effectiveness of the system frequency reuse In the present paper the effects of handover reserved channels on system performance are explored, in particular by varying the frequency reuse plan of a mixed macro-microcellular system. An optimization potentiality of guard channel allocation is identified. The latter represents an important step toward the design of handover procedures aimed at a proper compromise between frequency reuse efficiency and handover protection in critical urban environments. plan.
