A model for evaluating the performance of code phase assignment CDMA LAN 码分多址局域网码分多址性能评价模型

This paper describes a model for a fully-connected, full duplex, and synchronized CDMA LAN where the receivers use the same maximal length sequence with different chip phase offset for receiving messages. The ALOHA medium access is used. The performance of the model is analyzed by considering the succession of states the system is in as a Markov process. The behaviour of a 5-station system is shown.

Virtual-image-array single-snapshot (VIASS) algorithm for direction-of-arrival estimation of coherent signals 相干信号到达方向估计的虚拟图像阵列单快照(VIASS)算法

This paper presents a new concept for direction of arrival (DOA) estimation and signal reconstruction from the output signals of an equispaced array. The proposed single snapshot algorithm, which is based on a direct data matrix only, utilizes the concept of virtual imaged arrays to reach the theoretical limit of antenna elements for resolution of a given number of coherent paths. Extensive simulations of our new and some well known algorithms show equal performance of these types whereas our new algorithm excels by reducing computational and hardware complexity.

Bit error simulation of DQPSK for a slow frequency hopping CDMA system in mobile radio communications 移动无线电慢跳频CDMA系统中DQPSK的误码仿真

Spread spectrum (SS) techniques seem to be an attractive alternative to conventional narrow-band modulation. In this paper a frequency hopping (FH) system model based on slow FH (SFH) is proposed. The hopping pattern is in a pseudo-random manner through a set of completely independent channels. The simulated results of the bit error rate (BER) performance of the system for /spl pi//4 DQPSK modulation in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh fading, together with Bose-Chaudhuri-Hocquenghem (BCH) coding and interleaving are obtained. Consideration is given to the optimum interleaving size, and the system performance in presence of both synchronous and asynchronous interferers.

Evaluation of traffic capacity for integrated wireless personal communications over metropolitan area networks 城域网综合无线个人通信业务量评价

Metropolitan area networks (MANs) are well suited to support integrated voice and data personal communication services (PCS) by interconnecting wireless base stations (BSs). Whereas data transport is best supported by queue-arbitrated (QA) access to the IEEE 802.6 MAN, several alternatives exist for voice transport, including pre-arbitrated (PA) access, bi-state PA access, QA access, and reservation-arbitrated (RA) access. The voice traffic capacity of these alternatives are compared under different data traffic load. The results indicate that RA access, QA access, and bi-state PA access are preferred under low, medium, and high data traffic load, respectively, as they facilitate statistical multiplexing to almost double the capacity of PA access.

A multimedia medium access control protocol for ATM based mobile networks 基于ATM的移动网络多媒体媒体访问控制协议

This paper studies a multimedia medium access control (MAC) protocol. The motivation behind this activity is to develop a MAC protocol that can support multimedia services (e.g., voice, video, and data) using asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) in personal communication systems/networks (PCS/PCN). The protocol developed contains some features of existing protocols (e.g., ALOHA, time division multiple access (TDMA), code division multiple access (CDMA)). In particular, it is a slotted, frame-based protocol with multiple transmissions per slot and with priority for delay sensitive traffic (e.g., voice, video). A discrete-time, discrete-state Markov chain is used to evaluate the performance (e.g., throughput and delay) of the voice and the data transmissions.

Spectrum efficiency of sectorization for distributed dynamic channel assignment in cellular systems 蜂窝系统中分布式动态信道分配的分扇区频谱效率

This paper investigates the performance of distributed dynamic channel assignment (DDCA) strategies in sector cell layout systems using directional antennas. Simulations are done under the same propagation conditions and with the same system parameters. They show that DDCA strategies in sector cell layout systems gain 2.3/spl sim/8.2 times higher capacity than do the fixed channel assignment (FCA) strategy in conventional cellular systems using omnidirectional antennas and 1.5/spl sim/2.5 times higher than do DDCA strategies in conventional systems.

Performance of a two-layer low Earth orbiting satellite communication network 两层近地轨道卫星通信网络的性能

A novel two-layer low Earth orbiting satellite network is proposed. Compared with a single layer global network, not only is the system performance improved but also the number of satellites can be reduced. The main ideas include (1) raising the altitude of the original global network, and (2) adding several satellites at a lower altitude to form a regional network to serve calls from the areas of heavy traffic. In order to fully utilize the benefits of the two-layer network, additional functions such as adjustable beams and dynamic channel management are added. The call blocking rate is derived. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate several interesting phenomena. A network of multiple LEO satellites has also been proposed as a means to support global personal communications.

Silicon MOSFET technology for RF ICs 射频集成电路的硅MOSFET技术

Application of silicon MOSFET technologies to high frequency RF transceiver functions will be presented. Starting with a description of the high frequency characteristics of silicon MOSFETs designed specifically for RF applications. These applications include several RF functions where silicon MOSFETs have not traditionally been used such as low noise amplifiers, balanced mixers, RF switches and integrated power amplifiers. Finally a description of the performance trade-offs associated with silicon BJT (Bipolar Junction Transistor) technology are given along with an evaluation of how BiCMOS (Bipolar-CMOS) technologies can sometimes serve as the best solution to RF IC designs. Another silicon MOSFET device well suited to RF applications is the Thin Film Silicon on Insulator (TFSOI) device [2] shown in Figure 2. This transistor is constructed in the same manner as the device in Figure 1 except that a layer of insulating dielectric is now present between the epi and the substrate. The buried oxide insulator dramatically reduces the source-substrate and drain-substrate capacitance that is inherent to classic MOSFET device architecture and i prohibits the use of a low impedance source ground contacts. 1 I

A simulation study of space and time reservation multiple access 时空预约多址的仿真研究

The paper introduces a new protocol for wireless cellular networks by combining a time reservation scheme with a dynamic space reservation scheme. The proposed new protocol, known as the space and time reservation multiple access (STRMA) protocol, does not use a fixed reuse pattern but allows a dynamic reservation of bandwidth in both time and space. The performance of this protocol found by simulation is compared with the performance of a cellular network that uses PRMA with a fixed frequency reuse pattern. It is found that for homogenous traffic STRMA offers improved performance over a wide range of traffic loads. For inhomogeneous traffic the improvement is even more pronounced.

The proposed new protocol, known as the space and time reservation multiple access (STRMA) protocol, does not use a fixed reuse pattern but allows a dynamic reservation of bandwidth in both time and space. The performance of this protocol found by simulation is compared with the performance of a cellular network that uses PRMA with a fixed frequency reuse pattern. It is found that for homogenous traffic STRMA offers improved performance over a wide range of traffic loads. Wideband measurements of channel characteristics in deterministic indoor environment at 1.8 GHz and 5.2 GHz 确定性室内环境下1.8 GHz和5.2 GHz信道特性的宽带测量

Results are pre:. ed and discussed for TimeVariant Impulse Responses, Scattering Functions and TimeFrequency Correlation Functions, which have been determined from measured data in indoor environment at 1.8 GHz and 5.2 GHz. The environment has been chosen to be as much deterministic as possible, to get a basic insight into the influence of propagation on these functions. Evaluation methods used in this paper are shown to be valuable means for the examination of channel characteristics, which is essential for the choice of appropriate channel models. With respect to measurements at different frequencies, distinct similarities appeared, especially for the Scattering Functions and the Time-Frequency Correlation Functions.
