In this paper we introduce an inverse operation to the operation “+” defined over intuitionistic fuzzy pairs. We investigate the main properties of the introduced operation and compared it to other “−” operations previously introduced over intuitionistic fuzzy pairs.

In this paper, we continue our considerations concerning the ranking of intuitionistic fuzzy alternatives (options, variants, ...). We complete our previous considerations by showing in another way why the method proposed by us gives proper results. We stress when the method should be applied and emphasize its transparency.

Third party logistics (3PL) supplier selection problem is a multi-criteria selection problem that is frequently discussed in the literature. Medicine is a fundamental element for human health and drug transportation must be carried out on time and under conditions that will ensure that the drug does not lose its physical properties. Therefore, the pharmaceutical industry is one of the foremost and most important sectors in 3PL. In this multi-criteria problem where the evaluation criteria are linguistic rather than numerical, vagueness and impreciseness in evaluations can only be handled with the help of fuzzy sets. With the help of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, one of the new extensions of fuzzy sets, the vagueness and impreciseness here will be discussed and the 3PL supplier selection problem will be tried to be solved with the TOPSIS method, which is one of the most used MCDM methods in the literature. The use of Interval-Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy sets will add more flexibility and accuracy to the assessment. Thus, the Interval-Valued Intuitionistic Fuzzy TOPSIS method is used to solve the 3PL supplier selection problem and the robustness of the decisions taken is tested with a sensitivity analysis.

n this paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of an intuitionistic fuzzy solution for semi-linear intuitionistic fuzzy integro-differential equations with non-local conditions using the Banach fixed point theorem. Theorem on the existence and uniqueness of intuitionistic fuzzy solution for these problems with nonlocal conditions are presented under certain assumptions. Finally, an example is established to illustrate the effectiveness of this theorem.

In the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment unconscientious opinions may cause problems in the data processing. The problem is similar to those arising in the case of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. In this paper the previous ways of correction of the unconscientious experts’ evaluations in the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets environment are presented and some new algorithms are proposed.

The present paper proposes the idea of formulating a new author-level citation metrics, quantifying the individual’s scientific output, which uses the concept of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. This new metrics gives more visibility to the proportion of direct self-citations and hidden (co-author or collaborative) self-citations in the form of an intuitionistic fuzzy pair. Examples are given retrieving the necessary information from Scopus, one of the largest databases of peer-reviewed literature, which algorithmically enables retrieval of one’s citations including and excluding their own or their co-authors’ self-citations, as well as the calculation of three different values of one’s h-index with and without these respectively. Linear and triangular graphical representations are given, as well as comparisons with the concept proposed in 2005 by Jorge E. Hirsch, the now famous h-index, and ideas for future elaboration of the concept of the new intuitionistic fuzzy sets based author-level metrics, or shortly IFALM.

Continuing the research from [2], here we give the list of the axioms that are linebreak satisfied by the intuitionistic fuzzy implications, introduced in Part 1 of the present research. Given the large number of implications that have already been defined and the naturally arising question about their comparability and usability, we discuss the criteria of usability of implications and outline 44 ones that satisfy at least 28 from the discussed 38 axioms, that is about 1/4 of all implications that satisfy at least about 3/4 of all axioms. Finally, we show the relationships between each pair of implications in the form of a graph.

In this paper, we present a derivative-free Newton’s method that avoids computing the derivative by generating an approximation of the derivative for the intuitionistic fuzzy nonlinear equation. We first consider transforming the intuitionistic fuzzy quantities into their equivalent membership and non-membership parametric forms and insert the approximation from the forward difference method applied to F'(x_k) = 0 in Newton’s method to avoid computing the Jacobian matrix. Numerical experiments were carried out, which shows that the approach is a good option for computing Jacobian and is an efficient one.
