Detecting Stepping-Stone Intruders by Identifying Crossover Packets in SSH Connections 通过识别SSH连接中的交叉报文检测踏脚石入侵者

Routing packet traffic through a chain of hosts is a common technique for hackers to attack a victim server without exposing themselves. Generally, the use of a long connection chain to log in to a computer system is an indication of the presence of an intruder. This paper presents a new solution to the problem of detecting such long connection chains at the server side. Our hypothesis is that a long connection chain will cause Request and Response packets to cross each other along the chain. So even though we cannot directly observe the packet crossovers from the server side, we can observe some of their side effects. Thus, our detection algorithm is based on detecting this side effect of packet crossovers. We validated the algorithm using test data generated on the Internet. The results show a high detection rate of long connection chains of length three hops with a reasonable false positive rate.

SEEC: Sparsity-Aware Energy Efficient Clustering Protocol for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks 水下无线传感器网络的稀疏感知节能聚类协议

Many routing protocols are proposed regarding energy efficiency in underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs). We propose sparsity-aware energy efficient clustering (SEEC) protocol for UWSNs. SEEC specially search sparse regions of the network. We divide the network region into subregions of equal size and search sparse and dense regions of the network field with the help of sparsity search algorithm (SSA) and density search algorithm (DSA). SEEC improves network lifetime through sink mobility in sparse regions and clustering in dense regions of the network. SEEC also achieves network stability with optimal number of clusters formation in dense regions of the network where each dense region logically represents a static cluster. The division of the network region into subregions control routing hole problem in the UWSNs. SEEC minimizes network energy consumption with balanced scheme operations. Effectiveness of our proposed protocol is verified by simulation results.

Impact of SDN on Mobility Management SDN对移动性管理的影响

The software integration with new network architectures via SDN (Software Defined Network) axis appears to be a major evolution of networks. While this paradigm was primarily developed for easy network setup, its ability to integrate services has also to be considered. Thus, the mobility service for which solutions have been proposed in conventional architectures by defining standardized protocols should be rethought in terms of SDN service. Mobile devices might use or move in SDN network. In this paper, we have shown that SDN can be implemented without IP mobility protocol for providing mobility like as Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) that is the solution adopted by 3GPP, with some performance gain.

A Smart Home Energy Management Strategy Based on Demand Side Management 基于需求侧管理的智能家居能源管理策略

In this paper we propose an ECG optimization model for a smart home based on DSM. The proposed model is an efficient SHEM strategy. The model is proposed keeping in view the minimization of energy consumption, energy consumption cost and energy generation cost. The model is based on efficient scheduling of appliances and an ECG optimization algorithm is proposed. We are using and optimizing energy from two energy sources namely lceg and lcd which are also known as macrogrid and microgrid respectively. The problem is solved as cost optimization problem using genetic algorithm and mathematically formulated using binary MNKP. The simulation results show that our ECG model efficiently reduces the cost of energy consumption, energy generation and energy consumption utilization.

On Cooperative On-Path and Off-Path Caching Policy for Information Centric Networks (ICN) 信息中心网络(ICN)的协同在路与离路缓存策略研究

Information Centric Networks (ICN) envisions a radical shift from existing host-centric networking of the Internet to a content centric networking. Caching is an important and integral part of ICN. In ICN, the requested contents that are downloaded from the original source are stored at intermediate on-path routers. With increase in similarity in the requests by multiple users, similarity of contents passing through edge routers increases. This leads to cache redundancy at the edge routers resulting in decrease in network performance. To improve the network performance in such kind of scenarios, we have proposed a co-operative caching policy in which the edge routers or on-path routers optimally store the requested ICN contents and are supported by a strategically placed central off-path cache router for additional level of caching. We have proposed a simple heuristic mechanism which can be used to offload and to optimally store the contents from the on-path routers to off-path central cache router. Through theoretical studies and simulations we have demonstrated that this cooperative scheme improves the performance of the network significantly in terms of cache duplication, delay and network usage. While we have presented the results for a typical campus network, similar results can be expected in larger Internet by clustering a group of on-path routers around some criterion and then allocating an off-path cache router at a nearby location to the on-path routers.

A New Model for Testing CRUD Operations in a NoSQL Database NoSQL数据库中CRUD操作测试的新模型

NoSQL databases provide high availability and efficiency in data processing but at the expense of weaker consistency. In this paper, we propose a new approach in order to test NoSQL key/value databases in general and their CRUD operations in particular. We design a new context-aware model that takes into account the contextual requirements of clients (users) and the NoSQL database system. Accordingly, we develop a transaction model and testing criteria in order to test NoSQL databases by taking into account transactional and non-transactional CRUD operations. Results from testing criteria are used to analyse the trade-off between availability and consistency of NoSQL databases. In addition, these are used to help NoSQL database users and developers to choose between transactional and non-transactional CRUD operations.

Multi-master Replication of Enhanced Learning Assistant System in IoT Cluster IoT集群中增强型学习辅助系统的多主复制

In this paper, we discuss the multi-master replication of a Learning Assistance System (LAS). An LAS is an enhanced Learning Management System (LMS) developed in the lab of Wakkanai Hokusei Gakuen University. We consider an LAS cluster where availability of the service is inevitable. Data replication can be used to improve availability. However, the replication process can present several problems, such as consistency, availability, and partition tolerance. There are several ways to address these issues. For example, by developing a consistency-aware protocol, we can increase the data consistency of the application. However, we took a lazy approach to address this issue, in which we utilized a Galera cluster with an isolated sequential replication process. Our experiments show reliable results. The approach taken in our experiment is a combination of active and passive replication, to propagate changes in the background, log every transaction, calculate differentiation of content, and provide a comprehensive solution for replication with an eventually consistent approach. Furthermore, our experiments demonstrate that a multi-master replication system is effective for LAS in an Internet of Things (IoT) cluster. In this paper, we discuss the relevant results that we obtained from the evaluation.

Smart grids and smart homes improve energy management by coupling communication capabilities to their devices. Due to computational constraints of these devices, employment of simplified communication protocols is necessary. In this paper, we investigate the use of communication protocols based on CoAP and 6LoWPAN in smart home environments. Specifically, we analyze the vulnerabilities a smart home employing CoAP and 6LoWPAN may be susceptible to. We also present a performance analysis of the use of these protocols for ensuring secure communicationsin smart homes.

Content and Context Aware Strategies for QoS Support in VANETs VANETs中支持QoS的内容和上下文感知策略

The surging interest in autonomous coordinateddriving and in proactive safety services, exploiting the wealth ofsensing and computing resources which are gradually permeatingthe urban and vehicular environments, is making provisioning ofhigh levels of QoS in vehicular networks an urgent issue. At thesame time, the spreading model of a smart car, with a wealthof infotainment applications, calls for architectures for vehicularcommunications capable of supporting traffic with a diverse setof performance requirements. So far efforts have been revolvedtowards enabling a single specific QoS level. But the issues of howto support traffic with tight QoS requirements (no packet loss, and delays inferior to 1ms), and of designing a system capable atthe same time of efficiently sustaining such traffic together withtraffic from infotainment applications, are still open. In this paper we present the approach taken in the SNFCONTACT project in order to tackle these issues. The goal ofthe project is to investigate how an architecture for vehicularcommunications which integrates content-centric networking, software-defined networking as well as context aware floatingcontent schemes can properly support the very diverse set ofapplication and services currently envisioned for the vehicularenvironment.

A Positioning Handoff Decision Algorithm for Ubiquitous Pedestrian Navigation Systems 无所不在行人导航系统的定位切换决策算法

Nowadays, with the widespread deployment of smartphones the major challenge is to provide ubiquitous services, in particular, the pedestrian navigation service that rely greatly on both the positioning technology (e.g., WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.) and the positioning technique. In this paper, we propose a positioning handoff decision algorithm based on service parameters and user requirements to ensure a seamless and continuous switch process between heterogeneous available positioning technologies. The proposed algorithm starts by identifying the key parameters acting on the selection procedure, then, computes criteria weights by applying the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process -- AHP and finally, conducts to the best suitable positioning technology using a specific ranking function that always prefers the most accurate positioning technique. We end this paper by comparing our proposal with two different multicriteria decision making -- MCDM methods: the technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal solution -- TOPSIS and the simple additive weighting -- SAW approach.
