Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consists of small nodes with sensing, computation and wireless communications capabilities. Many routing protocols have been specially designed for WSNs where the fault tolerance, self-organization and scalability is an essential design issues. The focus however has been given to the routing protocols. In this paper, we present a survey of the state-of-the-art routing techniques based on biologically methods, such as ACO (Ant Colony Optimizations) & BCO (Bee Colony Optimization) algorithms. We first overview the design challenges for routing protocols in WSNs such as fault tolerance, self-organization and scalability. The objective of the research work to develop the new network algorithms those are for fault tolerance, self-organized and scalable in large-scale systems.

A Vision based Simultaneous localization and mapping (vSLAM) algorithm for navigation systems is a key problem in the field of automation and Control systems. The SLAM technique is used to calculate the pose estimation for unknown environment. In this paper, Autonomous navigation system is design for mobile robot control with a distributed filter. Basically the filter technique is used to reduce the internal and external noise. The proposed system design is used to guide the robot in unknown environment. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping, which means that the mobile robot can simultaneously determine its position and reconstruct the surrounding environment or unknown path is achieved. In this paper, we used the vision-based SLAM method to improve navigation performance. By design the two encoders for calculating the robot position. The Image correlation method is used to implement the mapping technique for pose estimation and distributed filter using kalman filtering to reduce the noise in input images or remote images.

Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) encompasses many functions such as traffic surveillance, parking assist, accident avoidance, driverless vehicle etc. It is widely proposed to use recent advances in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technologies for ITS applications. Flexibility, ease in installation and maintenance, low cost and high accuracy of WSN make it a prospective candidate for replacing contemporary technologies in use for vehicle detection and classification. This approach is an improvisation and advancement of already developed algorithms. Detection state machine (DSM) and K-Nearest Neighbour algorithm is used to detect and classify vehicle. India holds an unenviable record of having highest number of road accidents every year. The road accidents involve high human suffering in terms of untimely deaths, injuries and loss of income to the affected families apart from heavy financial losses to insurance companies. A low-cost micro controller based system with 3-axis accelerometer sensor and discarded cell phone model is developed to provide warnings to driver for abnormal conditions or unsafe driving and capability to detect accidents. The system has versatile features like alerting the driver about servicing schedule, abnormal engine temperature, over-speeding and rash driving situations. It also incorporates facility to capture images and send multimedia and text messages to predetermined users immediately after occurrence of accident. The usage of old cell phone model drastically reduces cost of the system apart from preventing environmental hazards due to unsafe dumping of old cell phones. The installation of proposed system in existing vehicles has tremendous potential to reduce fatalities during road accidents due to its warning alerts to driver and immediate communication to dear ones and emergency help lines after the occurrence of accident.

Edge detection is useful for segmentation of objects, its registration and identification. So image processing algorithms are defined. Early state detection of image has been tried using VLSI architecture. A normal image and disease affected image are compared and percentage of disease has been tried to find out. Looking towards the market providing the luxurious comfort to the passengers in the vehicle, the suspension system plays an important role. To design the a controller for suspension system is very important for improving road handling quality of vehicle and riding comfort of passenger. In this paper a mathematical model is given for proposed suspension system. The detail literature review has been done and provided. The active suspension system has a great performance for vibration control but one of the drawback of this system that it consumes high energy. This drawback has been solved by providing the facility to convert the vibration energy that produced because of road surface profile to useful electrical energy to reduce the energy consumption. The application of adaptive Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System for proposed system has been justified in this paper.

The reliability of fingerprint matching system is highly depends on the perfect alignment algorithm and a suitable matching techniques, which assign a label to the input fingerprint image. In this paper, we propose a rotation invariant fingerprint descriptor and a improved generalization performance classifier. The proposed new descriptor is represented by a histogram of local directional pattern (LDP) computed from extracted region of interest (ROI) of fingerprint images. For fingerprint matching, we propose a single hidden layer neural network (SLFN), which combines a powerful extreme learning machine (ELM) and a well generalized resilient propagation (RPROP) algorithm. The proposed fingerprint matching system comprises the following steps: fingerprint pre-processing/enhancement, ROI extraction, invariant LDP feature extraction, and matching using proposed hybrid classifier. The experimental result shows that the matching accuracy of the proposed system is improved as compare to ELM for lower values of hidden nodes, and other distance based matching approaches proposed in the literature.
