This paper deals with implementation of a method of graph-based symbolic simplification. The method is based on the structural modification of voltage and current graphs representing a network. The proposed method goes beyond the capabilities of conventional approach consisting in eliminating the network parameters or coefficients of a circuit matrix. It changes the graph structure in order to decrease the number of common spanning trees. The result is a simplified circuit model that can be analyzed symbolically or it can be used as a macromodel. The important property is that the graph transformation is based on physical relations in the circuit in contrast to the purely mathematical methods.

This paper describes the design of the isolator containing longitudinally magnetized microstrip ferrite coupled lines (FCL). In the sandwich structure of circuit the ferrite slab was introduced as an overlay. The termination in the isolator circuit was realized in two different ways: as a coaxial load and as a planar microstrip structure with lumped resistor. The results of the simulation were experimentally verified. Between simulations and measurements a good agreement was achieved. Better results was obtained for isolator with the coaxial load. The experiment showed average transmission losses better than -2dB in the band from 10.4 to 15GHz. The average isolation was better than -15dB. The reflection losses in one port were better than in the other one (below -15dB and average -12dB).

The speech recognisers use a parametric form of the signal to get the most important features in speech for the recognition task. Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) and Perceptual linear prediction coefficients (PLP) belong to the most commonly used methods. There is no rule to decide which one is better to use and it depends mainly on the particular conditions. The tests on taking advantage of different parts of each parametrization process to get the best results in given conditions are presented in this paper. Robust Hidden Markov model-based (HMM) Czech digit recogniser in slightly noisy environment is used for this purpose. The experiments show, that using Bark-frequency scaling, equal loudness pre-emphasis and intensity-loudness power law in the original MFCC method can bring improvement in white noise robustness for particular conditions. The results also uncovered that the LP-based methods tend to generate insertion errors in given environment.

The paper deals with the measuring of the EMI filters insertion loss. Two variations of differential mode measurement setups are compared. Impedance transformers are used in the first setup. Active devices (operational amplifiers) were used in alternative measurement setup instead of impedance transformers. This replacement was done for the 50 Omega differential mode insertion loss measurement setup. The performance of modified measurement setup was tested on several single phase EMI filters. The obtained data were compared with data taken in the setup with impedance transformers.

One of approaches in the Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction methods for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) is multiple signal representation (MSR) technique. This article presents the improvement of MSR technique where multiple signal representations are produced by different interleavers. The interleavers used in this approach are optimized and integrated with phase rotation (realized as element-by-element multiplying). The simulation for two-branch classical and optimized MSR is introduced in the article. The improvement in complementary cumulative distribution function of(CCDF) PAPR is presented.

Digital radio broadcasting systems will intervene more and more our lives. Production of transmitter systems and various receivers' types will be very increasing in close time period. Design of radio networks requires wide knowledge of real system behavior. Similarly development of receivers and selection of right approach needs to have good system feedback. We decided using available components in our "laboratory of radio transmitters and receivers" prepare measurement system which can cover issue of digital radio broadcasting system for long, middle and short wave bands -DRM (digital radio mondiale) and system for VHF band T-DAB (terrestrial-digital audio broadcasting). Paper describes system components, their connection and possible measurements on variable system.

The most common approach in today's interferometric laser vibrometry is the so called heterodyne technique. This about 20 year-old method works with two optical beams with two different optical frequencies that are lead over separate ways and, after one of them has interacted with the vibrating target, are superimposed on optical detectors to produce interference signals [1] However, this concept requires expensive optical components such as a Bragg Cell or a Zeeman-Laser. In order to reduce the manufacturing cost of an interferometic laser vibrometer we persecute a strategy which reduces the optical complexity for the prize of higher signal processing demand. Based on the fact that today highly integrated signal processing hardware such as DSPs (Digital Signal Processors) FPGAs or ASICs solutions are much less expensive than in the past, this so called HWSHD (Homodyne With Synthetic Heterodyne Demodulation) strategy is therefore competitive to the classical usage of expensive optical components in the heterodyne concept. This paper will, after a brief introduction into the homodyne vibrometer concept, describe the idea and realisation aspects of the signal processing algorithm by usage of NI-LabVIEWs FPGA Module.

The paper deals with the measurement of SOP (state of polarization) of polarization preserving fiber "bow-tie". Linear or circular polarized light has been launched into the input of fiber loaded by the torsion and resultant output intensity for different position of output polarizer has been measured. Obtained results can be used in the sensors applications of fibers.
