PARTICLE-BASED TRANSPARENT FUSED VISUALIZATION APPLIED TO MEDICAL VOLUME DATA 基于粒子的透明融合可视化在医学体积数据中的应用

This paper proposes a method to create 3D fusion images, such as volume–volume, volume–surface, and surface–surface fusion. Our method is based on the particle-based rendering, which uses tiny particles as rendering primitives. The method can create natural and comprehensible 3D fusion images simply by merging particles prepared for each element to be fused. Moreover, the method does not require particle sorting along the line of sight to realize right depth feel. We apply our method to realize comprehensible visualization of medical volume data.

PARAMETRIC OPTIMIZING ANALYSIS OF UNSTEADY STRUCTURES AND VISUALIZATION OF MULTIDIMENSIONAL DATA 非定常结构参数化优化分析与多维数据可视化

The paper presents an approach to fast approximate estimation of conditions for space-time structures appearing in the flows. The approach is based on combination of optimization problem computation with methods of data visual presentation. The visual presentation methods are applied for analysis of multidimensional array containing discrete result data. Optimization problem solution is implemented by parallel computation in a multitask form. For some cases, the approach allows to obtain for control parameter of considered problem the sought-for approximate dependence on characteristic parameters in a quasi-analytical form.
本文提出了一种快速近似估计流中时空结构出现条件的方法。该方法基于优化问题计算与数据可视化表示方法的结合。将可视化表示方法应用于包含离散结果数据的多维数组的分析。优化问题的求解采用多任务形式的并行计算实现。在某些情况下,该方法可以得到所考虑问题的控制参数与特征参数的近似依赖关系的拟解析形式。

SIMULATION AND REALITY: THE BIG PICTURE 模拟和现实:大图景

The discipline of modeling and simulation (M&S) is advancing, maturing, and is being used in more and more challenging areas. Appreciation of its comprehensive and integrative view, i.e., its big picture would be very useful for its continued and systematic growth and successful applications. The article starts with a rationale for the needs to see the big picture of M&S and ways to see the big picture. Since M&S is closely related with reality and its representations i.e., models, reality/model dichotomy is clarified. As the core of the article, detailed perceptions of M&S from different perspectives such as: purpose of use, problem to be solved, connectivity of operations, and types of knowledge processing are clarified. Then, three aspects of ways to increase the trustworthiness of M&S are outlined (i.e., validation and verification (V&V), quality assurance (QA), and failure avoidance (FA). The article ends with a discussion of M&S from the perspective of professionalism. Some recommendations or challenges are still open for implementations for the success of M&S.
