An adaptive image steganography algorithm based on the use of non-cryptographic hash functions for data extraction 基于使用非加密哈希函数进行数据提取的自适应图像隐写算法

An adaptive steganography algorithm for data hiding in full-color images based on iterative introduction of minor distortions into blocks of container images and the use of high-speed non-cryptographic hash functions for data extraction is considered. Modification of the minimum number of container elements compared to the length of the hidden message is a distinctive feature of the algorithm. This feature allows the hidden throughput to be increased and the visual and statistical visibility of hidden data to be reduced. The algorithm is compared with modern algorithms of adaptive spatial steganography in terms of assessing the level of distorting changes in stego-containers. In addition, a modified version of the algorithm that implements covert channel multiplexing using a common subset of container elements when embedding various messages into them is considered.

Subcarrier wave continuous-variable quantum key distribution with Gaussian modulation: composable security analysis 高斯调制的子载波连续变量量子密钥分发:可组合安全性分析

In this paper, we continue the study of the quantum cryptographic GG02 protocol, performed using the approach based on the subcarrier waves. We modify the scheme via heterodyne detection and perform security analysis for the full trusted hardware noise model in the presence of collective attacks with finite-key effects. It is shown that the system can potentially distribute the key even if the level of losses in the channel is above 9 dB. This result is consistent with the general technical level and comply with modern standards of practical CV-QKD systems. Finally, the system under consideration fully meets the criterion of composability.

An approach to segmentation of a solid focal lesion in breast and its peripheral areas in ultrasound images 超声图像中乳腺实体病灶及其周围区域的分割方法

The paper proposes an approach to the segmentation of solid breast lesions and their peripheral areas in ultrasound images. It is noted that identifying the outermost breast lesion structures is an important step for the further lesion classification, directly affecting the final classification of its type. The main feature of the proposed approach is that its implementation takes into account peculiarities of pixel brightness variations in the original image, without using speckle noise filters. The method was tested on a set of ultrasound images of morphologically verified 42 benign and 49 malignant breast lesions marked by a radiologist. The segmentation results were compared with the results of manual marking performed by the radiologist. The average errors in the segmentation of benign and malignant lesion were 5 pixels – for the lesion area and 7 pixels – for the peripheral area, which is insignificant, taking into account the error of manual marking performed by radiologist (3.9 and 4.7 pixels, respectively). The average intersection-over-union (IoU) metrics were 0.82 and 0.80, respectively. The presented results indicate the possibility of using the developed technology in a combination with the system of lesion differentiation.

Concept of a photon spatial switch based on an off-axis zone plate: experimental confirmation in the millimeter waves range 基于离轴带板的光子空间开关的概念:毫米波范围内的实验验证

We present results of the experimental verification of a concept of the previously proposed all-optical wavelength-selective multichannel switch based on an off-axis Wood zone plate in the millimeter waveband without the use of micromechanical devices or non-linear materials. A laboratory prototype of such a device is considered and its main parameters are discussed. It is shown that the optical isolation of switched channels for the switch based on an off-axis zone plate can reach 15 dB at a frequency difference of 25 GHz in the frequency range of 93 – 136 GHz.

New method for detecting and removing random-valued impulse noise from images 一种检测和去除图像随机脉冲噪声的新方法

The paper proposes a method for detecting and removing impulse noise in images, which determines the similarity between pixels by distance and the difference in brightness values in the local detector window. An impulse noise model is considered, where distorted pixels take random values and also randomly appear in the image. Pixels identified as pulses are recovered with an adaptive median filter. The impulses are determined in the detector window, whose size is calculated in the Euclidean metric and increases with increasing noise intensity in the image. In the experimental part, we discuss visual differences between familiar methods and the one proposed herein on three images for three different impulse noise intensities. In the approximation of image fragments, it is seen that the proposed method copes with the task in the best way, which is also confirmed by numerical estimates of the quality of image reconstruction from impulse noise based on the peak signal-to-noise ratio and the structural similarity index. The proposed method can be used when solving problems of cleaning images under conditions of distorting impulses and for eliminating distortions caused by adverse weather effects, such as raindrops and snow.

Application of generative adversarial neural networks for the formation of databases in scanning tunneling microscopy 生成对抗神经网络在扫描隧道显微镜数据库形成中的应用

We discuss the development of a technique for automatic generation of databases of images obtained with a scanning tunneling microscope. An analysis of state-of-the-art methods and means of automatic processing of images obtained from probe and electron microscopes is carried out. We proposed using generative-adversarial networks for generating images taken with a scanning tunneling microscope to form training databases of images. A process of training and comparison of deep convolutional generative adversarial network (DCGAN) architectures using the OpenCV and Keras libraries together with TensorFlow is described, with the best of them identified by computing the metrics IS, FID, and KID. The scaling of images obtained from DCGAN is performed using a method of fine tuning of a super-resolution generative adversarial neural network (SRGAN) and bilinear interpolation based on the Python programming language. An analysis of calculated quantitative metrics values shows that the best results of image generation are obtained using DCGAN96 and SRGAN. It is found that FID and KID metric values for SRGAN method are better than values for bilinear interpolation in all cases except for DCGAN32. All calculations are performed on a GTX GeForce 1070 video card. A method for automatic generation of a scanning tunneling microscope image database based on the stepwise application of DCGAN and SRGAN is developed. Results of generation and comparison of the original image, the one obtained with DCGAN96 and the enlarged image with SRGAN are presented.

High-Q Fano resonances are demonstrated, as well as effects similar to electromagnetically induced transparency arising in a curved Fabry-Perot waveguide resonator with variable-reflection mirrors. It is shown that these effects arise as a result of coupling the fundamental mode of the bent waveguide core with whispering gallery cladding modes. An influence of the main geometrical parameters of the resonator on the resonance features in its reflection and transmission spectra is studied. The results obtained can be used in the creation of new functional elements of photonics based on curved waveguides, in particular, highly sensitive portable refractometers for bio- and chemosensory systems, as well as optical sensors of mechanical effects.

Determining the error in measuring the spherical concave mirror radius of curvature with a laser rangefinder 用激光测距仪测量球面凹面镜曲率半径误差的确定

An instrument and technique for assessing errors of measuring optical surface radius of curvature with a laser rangefinder are presented. Errors of optical instrument alignment with a wave-front sensor are shown to influence the accuracy of measuring the mirror radius. Errors of the rangefinder-aided technique for measuring the surface radius are estimated. A computer analysis shows that the developed scheme of misalignment measurement allows a relative error of 0.02 – 0.3 % to be attained for mirrors ranging in radius from 1 m to 10 m. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the decision support algorithm for physicians in retinal dystrophy using machine learning methods 使用机器学习方法评估视网膜营养不良医师决策支持算法的有效性

Electroretinography is a method of electrophysiological testing, which allows diagnosing diseases associated with disorders of the vascular structures of the retina. The classical analysis of the electroretinogram is based on assessing four parameters of the amplitude-time representation and often needs to be specified further using alternative diagnostic methods. This study proposes the use of an original physician decision support algorithm for diagnosing retinal dystrophy. The proposed algorithm is based on machine learning methods and uses parameters extracted from the wavelet scalogram of pediatric and adult electroretinogram signals. The study also uses a labeled database of pediatric and adult electroretinogram signals recorded using a computerized electrophysiological workstation EP-1000 (Tomey GmbH) at the IRTC Eye Microsurgery Ekaterinburg Center. The scientific novelty of this study consists in the development of special mathematical and algorithmic software for analyzing a procedure for extracting wavelet scalogram parameters of the electroretinogram signal using the cwt function of the PyWT. The basis function is a Gaussian wavelet of order 8. Also, the scientific novelty includes the development of an algorithm for analyzing electroretinogram signals that implements the classification of adult (pediatric) electroretinogram signals 19 (20) percent more accurately than classical analysis.

Improving the diffraction efficiency of structures in direct laser writing using obliquely incident beams: modeling and experiment 利用斜入射光束提高直接激光书写结构的衍射效率:建模与实验

A brief review of methods for increasing the diffraction efficiency of optical elements synthesized by direct laser writing is done. It is noted that the previously proposed methods for recording the topology of similar elements using volumetric or surface contour masks do not provide an ultimate solution to a problem of increasing the diffraction efficiency. The performed model and physical experiments on the fabrication of structures of surface-relief phase optical elements by recording zone profiles using oblique laser beams show the fundamental possibility of forming steep side walls of the reverse zone slopes and the feasibility of developing this technology based on laser image generators.
