The prevalence of oral health problems in the Jakarta Special Capital Region (DKI Jakarta) according to the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) results in 2018 was 59.1%. Pericoronitis and periodontal disease are common oral cavity issues. Knowledge about maintaining oral health is a key factor in achieving a good quality of life. To increase public understanding of the importance of dental and oral care, this knowledge program is designed to provide holistic and practical information. Therefore, education in the form of counseling and training is needed by directly engaging with the community to emphasize the importance of dental and oral health care, targeting mothers from the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) and Integrated Health Service Post (Posyandu) cadres in the Grogol sub-district. The results show a significant difference between pre-test and post-test (p < 0.0001). In conclusion, the knowledge of participants improves after receiving counseling and training.

Elderly are people aged 60 years or more. According to Riskesdas, the highest prevalence of tooth loss in Indonesia is in the age group over 60 years, specifically at 30.6%. Prosthodontic treatment can improve a patient's oral health, improve their masticatory and speech functions, and improve their aesthetics. However, the use of dentures requires proper care. The elderly need to be aware of how to maintain oral health and care for dentures to ensure its longevity. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge and change attitudes and behaviors concerning dental health care, denture care and oral hygiene in the elderly. In this activity, audio visual training techniques are applied by using powerpoint and videos as training tools to improve the retention of counseling materials by the elderly and avoid saturation. The delivery of materials is conducted using a language that is easily understood by the elderly. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest, this activity shows an increase in knowledge as well as the enthusiasm of the participants in asking questions about counseling and training related to maintaining oral health and the mouth as well as dentures. A good level of success can be achieved through this activity as it is supported by appropriate methods and good communication between the implementing team and the community.

Dental and oral health for elderly is crucial and has impact on the individual’s general health. Physical decline in the elderly is characterized by skin starting to shrink, hair beginning to change colour, loss of bone density, ability to see up to loss of mucous teeth. Tooth loss can interfere with the function of chewing, speaking and aesthetics. This condition can be aggravated by poor dental and oral hygiene. Therefore, dental health education is important to provide elderly an information about how to maintain oral health and prevent dental problem. The method used in this research is by providing education through power point media, given to Anggrek Bulan Elderly Community in November 25th 2023. Evaluation of participants’ knowledge was carried out before and after education by giving assessment sheet in the form of multiple choices to determine the level of community knowledge. Management of dental emergencies focuses on immediate action to relieve pain and preserve injured tissue so that the condition does not get worse. Some of the causes of dental emergencies include pain due to inflammation of the dental nerve, bacterial infections that cause abscesses or swelling, broken or loose teeth due to falls or impacts. Dental emergencies can also occur with dental tools installed in the oral cavity, such as dentures or orthodontic wires, for example broken dentures or sharp orthodontic wires that can cause injuries to the soft tissue in the oral cavity. This empowerment activity aims to improve knowledge and ability to handle oral emergencies. This Community Service Activity was carried out by the Trisakti University Faculty of Dentistry Team for parents of students at Yasporbi I Elementary School, South Jakarta on February 16 2024. The method used was offline counseling using presentations regarding various emergency conditions in dentistry. Counseling was conducted on 13 participants for 60 minutes. Participants' knowledge was assessed with a pre-test and posttest using Google Form. From the results obtained, it can be seen that there has been an increase in the knowledge of the counseling participants by 25% (average pre-test score 8 and average post-test score 10).

Nutrition has an important role during the growth and development of children in general, especially in the oral cavity. Children who are malnourished can cause abnormalities in the hard tissue of the teeth and periodontal. Abnormalities in the oral cavity can disrupt masticatory function, which can affect food intake. Parental knowledge is important in choosing food for the family, because it can affect the nutritional status of children and their families. This Community Service (PkM) were attended by 36 participants from the PKK mobilization team, Cideng, Central Jakarta. The materials provided are the effect of balanced nutrition on general health, the effect of nutrition on the tooth supporting tissue, the impact and prevention of poor dental health and good oral health care in power points, videos and posters. The results of the PkM training were evaluated by a pre-post test using a google form. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' knowledge scores from an average pre-test score of 45.78 to an average post-test score of 82.19. It is hoped that this PkM activity can increase the knowledge of the PKK mobilization team, so that in the future they can provide education to the public regarding the influence of balanced nutrition on general health and the oral cavity as well as how to maintain oral health.

The first 5 years of a child's development stage is a golden period in a child's growth and development period. Children's dental and oral health is very important, because the mouth is the first gate in the human digestive system. Parents' knowledge regarding dental and oral hygiene and health is the basis for forming children's behavior in maintaining children's oral and dental hygiene. Parents need to be provided with adequate knowledge on how to do an early detection of cavities, crowding of teeth, and abnormalities in the mouth as a form of prevention against tooth decay in children in the home environment. Community Service (PkM) was carried out online via Zoom Meeting on Friday 1 July 2022, and was attended by 37 people including teachers, staff and parents of students from Playgoup School and Kindergarten Al-Alaq Jatibening. The material provided is in the form of early detection of tooth decay, how to check oral health at home, how to detect crowding of teeth early, soft tissue disorders in the form of ppt, e-flyer and video. Measure success by completing a pre-test and post-test consisting of 17 knowledge questions related to the topic presented. It was found that participants' knowledge increased by 31%. The results obtained from this activity are very good with partners who are willing to carry out PkM activities on an ongoing basis.

Bad breath, or commonly known as halitosis, is a health problem that is often overlooked. It can harm a person's daily life, including social isolation, anxiety, and discomfort. Halitosis can be divided into two types: genuine halitosis (related to oral issues) and delusional halitosis (related to false perceptions). Most cases of halitosis are caused by oral hygiene problems such as reduced saliva, dry mouth, gingivitis, periodontitis, and the use of dentures. Specific bacteria in the mouth can produce foul-smelling compounds known as volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs), such as methyl mercaptan and hydrogen sulfide. Additionally, halitosis can also result from systemic issues or bad habits. It is important to provide education to the community on how to address halitosis and maintain oral hygiene. Steps like regular tooth brushing, tongue cleaning, using dental floss, and avoiding strongly aromatic foods can help reduce the risk of halitosis. In the community of RT015/RW008, Kelurahan Jatipulo, West Jakarta, this education is particularly crucial because the level of knowledge about oral health is low. Through education and training, it is hoped that the community can recognize the causes of halitosis and address the issue before seeking medical help. This will improve the quality of life for the community, boost their self-confidence, and help prevent more serious oral health.
