Abstract In this paper, by applying Pachpatte’s type integral inequality with integral impulses, we investigate Ulam–Hyers and Ulam–Hyers–Rassias stabilities for the impulsive Volterra delay integrodifferential equation Banach spaces. Suitable examples are given to support the obtained results.

Numerical simulation of particulate matter propagation in an indoor environment with various types of heating 不同加热方式下室内环境中颗粒物传播的数值模拟

Abstract The aim of the work is to describe the air flow in an enclosed space, which is ventilated by a diffuser, to select an appropriate turbulence model, to solve the problem using the ANSYS Fluent, to study the effect of heat sources in a room on air flow under various conditions and to simulate the movement of particulate matter. As a result, the distribution of PM2.5 particles in the room was shown, which enter the room through the diffuser. According to the data obtained, the temperature value increases with an increase in the area of the heat source, that is, with an increase in the number of batteries. The maximum temperature corresponds to a room with a warm floor, the minimum temperature is observed in a room with one battery. The obtained numerical data can be used when installing ventilation or heating devices inside buildings, when simulating the movement of harmful particles in the air, when determining the optimal ways to clean the air.

Numerical solutions of the Bagley–Torvik equation by using generalized functions with fractional powers of Laguerre polynomials 用Laguerre多项式的分数次幂广义函数求解Bagley–Torvik方程

Abstract In this study, a collocation approach is presented to solve Bagley–Torvik equation, which is a class of fractional differential equations. As most fractional differential equations do not have exact analytical solutions, it is needed numerical methods. This study is important because it presents a numerical method for fractional differential equations. The main purpose of this method is to obtain the approximate solution based on Laguerre polynomials of the Bagley–Torvik equation. To date, a collocation method based on the Laguerre polynomials has not been studied for the solutions of the Bagley–Torvik equation. This reveals the novelty of the study. The approximate solution is sought in form of the fractional powers of the Laguerre polynomials. By using the Caputo derivative, the matrix relation is created for term with fractional derivative in the equation. Similarly, the matrix relation of second derivative is computed in equation. Then, by using these matrix relations and the collocation points, the Bagley–Torvik problem is converted into a system of the linear algebraic equations. The solution of this system gives the coefficients of the assumed solution. Secondly, an error estimation method is given with the help of the residual function and also the Laguerre polynomial solution is improved by using the estimated error function. Then, the method is applied to four examples and the obtained numerical results are shown in tables and graphs. Also, the comparisons are made with other methods in the literature and so the presented method gives better results than other methods.

A new approach to representations of homothetic motions in Lorentz space 洛伦兹空间中同质运动表示的一种新方法

Abstract In this study, Rodrigues parameters have been first calculated for a homothetic rotation around spacelike and timelike axis using one parameter homothetic motions in Lorentz 3-space E 1 3 ${mathbb{E}}_{1}^{3}$ . The behavior of the vectors during the homothetic rotation, which is the increase or decrease (about size of one of the objects in motion) notion, has been investigated as a three dimensional shape with the help of Cinema 4D program. The behavioral differences have been observed on figures. Then, Lorentz motions that corresponding to the homothetic rotation matrices in terms of spacelike and timelike axes have been examined and expressed in E 1 3 ${mathbb{E}}_{1}^{3}$ . Some definitions, theorems, corollaries and three dimensional figures have been given in Lorentz 3-space.

Numerical simulation of variable-order fractional differential equation of nonlinear Lane–Emden type appearing in astrophysics 天体物理学中非线性Lane-Emden型变阶分数阶微分方程的数值模拟

Abstract This paper suggests the Chebyshev pseudo-spectral approach to solve the variable-order fractional Lane–Emden differential equations (VOFLEDE). The variable-order fractional derivative (VOFD) is defined in the Caputo sense. The proposed method transforms the problem into a set of algebraic equations that can be solved for unknowns. Few examples are discussed to exhibit the viability and effectiveness of the approach. The present study indicates the accuracy, efficiency, and powerfulness of the Chebyshev collocation method in solving the VOFD Lane–Emden equation. Error bound and convergence analysis of the method is also discussed. It is worth noticing that using lesser collocation nodes in computation is another advantage of the technique, which eventually reduces the computational cost.

Elastic trend filtering 弹性趋势滤波

Abstract Trend filtering aims to estimate underlying trends in time series data, which is necessary to investigate data in a variety of disciplines. We propose a new method called elastic trend filtering. The proposed method combines ℓ 2 and ℓ 1 norm penalties to exploit the benefits and strengths of Hodrick–Prescott and ℓ 1 trend filterings. We apply the alternating direction method of multipliers for its efficient computation and numerical experiments show the soundness and efficiency of the proposed method. We further apply the proposed method to graph cases for potential applications and suggest a trend filtering for its variance estimate.

N-fold Darboux transformation and exact solutions for the nonlocal Fokas–Lenells equation on the vanishing and plane wave backgrounds 消失波和平面波背景下非局部Fokas-Lenells方程的n倍Darboux变换和精确解

Abstract In this paper, we propose and investigate the reverse-space–time nonlocal nonlinear Fokas–Lenells equation by the idea of Ablowitz and Musslimani. The reverse-space–time Fokas–Lenells equation, associated with a 2 × 2 matrix Lax pair, is the important integrable system, which can be reduced to the nonlocal Fokas–Lenells equation. Based on its Lax pair, we construct nonlocal version of N-fold Darboux transformation (DT) for the Fokas–Lenells equation, and obtain two kinds of soliton solutions from vanishing and plane wave backgrounds. Further some novel one-soliton and two-soliton are derived with the zero and nonzero seed solutions through complex computations, including the bright soliton, kink soliton and breather wave soliton. Moreover, various graphical analyses on the presented solutions are made to reveal the dynamic behaviors, which display the elastic interactions between two solitons and their amplitudes keeping unchanged after the interactions except for the phase shifts. It is clearly shown that these solutions have new properties which differ from ones of the classical Fokas–Lenells equation.

Abstract In this study, we present a mathematical model of socio-economic process of labor force migration. We present our model in the terms of distributed order fractional partial differential equation. The proposed model involves time varying diffusion coefficient. To solve this model we propose an implicit discrete scheme by using graded meshes, and study numerically labor migration flow data from Turkey along with other countries throughout the period of 1966–2014.

Abstract In this paper, the dynamical behaviors of a multiple delayed HIV-1 infection model which describes the interactions of humoral, cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) immune responses, and two modes of transmission that are the classical virus-to-cell infection and the direct cell-to-cell transmission are investigated. The model incorporates three delays, including the delays of cell infection, virus production and activation of immune response. We first prove the well-posedness of the model, and calculate the biological existence of equilibria and the reproduction numbers, which contain virus infection, humoral immune response, CTL immune response, CTL immune competition, and humoral immune competition. Further, the threshold conditions for the local and global stability of the equilibria for infection-free, immune-free, antibody response, CTL response, and interior are established by utilizing linearization method and the Lyapunov functionals. The existence of Hopf bifurcation with immune delay as a bifurcation parameter is investigated by using the bifurcation theory. Numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the theoretical results and reveal the effects of some key parameters on viral dynamics.

Numerical study of heat and mass transfer on the pulsatile flow of blood under atherosclerotic condition 动脉粥样硬化条件下血液脉动流动传热传质的数值研究

Abstract The present article investigates the effects of heat and mass transfer on the pulsatile flow of blood through a tapered artery under atherosclerotic conditions. The blood is treated as Sutterby fluid. The wall of the artery is considered to be time-invariant having overlapping stenosis in its lumen. The fully coupled momentum, energy and concentration equations in conjunction with the constitutive equation of Sutterby fluid are simplified by applying the mild stenosis assumption. The governing equations together with the prescribed boundary conditions are discretized and solved by using the finite difference method. The results highlighting the effects of various emerging parameters on the heat and mass transfer are also displayed through graphs. The effects of stenosis height and Prandtl number on the axial variation of Nusselt number are also discussed in detail. A comparison of Sutterby fluid with the Newtonian fluid is also presented to highlight the effects of the Prandtl number on the heat and mass transfer. The present study reveals that the distribution of temperature in the constricted region of the blood vessel is closely associated with the viscoelastic nature of blood. It is also observed that the rate of heat transfer at the wall of the artery can be enhanced by reducing the thermal conductivity.
