This article aims to analyze the fair pricing as well as the practices of selling to intermediaries in the context of the problems undergone by the small farming producers in eight towns in Yucatán, Mexico. The research is developed under a combined approach. To do so, relational comparative techniques were applied, binary logistic regression models were developed and semi-structured interviews were carried out. The results go against the idea that these producers want to contact mainly the intermediaries in order to have their goods sold in the case of any problem related to the land, production, marketing, transport or a lack of fair prices.

The keys for social development and sustainability in the mountain rural world in Southern Europe have been redefined by the new territorial governance, the mobilities and the impact of the crisis. This transformation is particularly evinced in the Spanish case. The results of the research carried out in the Navarra Pyrenees indicated the role played by the family strategies and the local associations as building blocks for resilience. It is something frequently ignored in the policies as well as in the ways of governance, but, a sociological approach allows documenting them as decisive social innovation resources in particularly vulnerable contexts and unfavorable situations.

This article aims to know the territorial impact of the community forest management (CFM) in the Sierra Norte de Puebla (SNP) during the term 2003-2017. The CFM is understood theoretically as a way of collective organization and environmental governance. Territory is understood as a reflection of the social behavior. This work uses a quantitative methodology based on analyzing the economic-environmental indicators, a Autor de correspondencia.

Agricultural activity in the rural sector has been studied mainly in terms of technical questions regarding cultivation; however, the organizational aspects that generate added value, such as knowledge, have rarely been addressed. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between knowledge management and innovation in rural agricultural organizations in northwestern Mexico. A questionnaire with composed of 36 items and a thorough interview was applied to seven leading organizations of the Yaqui Valley (YV). The results reveal a positive and significant relationship between knowledge management and innovation.

This research aims to show the need to consider aspects related to the interrelation between the agricultural structure, the production relationships and the agency capability, which implies an analysis of resilience, understood as being able to change, learn and transform oneself at different extents. In order to evaluate how pertinent is to consider these aspects, a case study was conducted on agroecosystems in the town of Marulanda (Caldas Province, Colombia). This work found that the agroecosystems are resilient after an analysis from the peasant’s viewpoint, although this resilience was reduced due to the semi-feudal production relationships kept in the region that appear in the form of land concentration, serfdom, and bossism.

This research evaluated the effects of the agricultural policies in central-east Puebla, Mexico, as well as how producers perceive the implementation and its outcomes. To carry out the work, a questionnaire was answered by 95 corn producers and a policy analysis matrix was applied. According to the results, there is a deficit in the ratio production cost/sale income. The private cost ratio and the internal resource cost ratio showed that the corn is efficient and non-profitable. They also show that with production incentives this product can be competitive. On the other hand, the perception analysis indicated that the sale prices and the public policies do not promote the competitiveness. In this vein, a really efficient policy must be focused on improving the sale prices.
