Signature reliability evaluation of renewable energy system 可再生能源系统特征可靠性评估

In this paper, a real-life renewable energy-based system is considered and the reliability function of this system is evaluated with the help of Universal Generating Function technique.The renewable energy-based system is considered from the project in Germany where the wind turbine and hydro power plant are combined. In this project the wind turbines are the world?s tallest wind turbines of about 584 feet and one reservoir have the capacity of 1.6 million gallons of water. The wind turbines are set at the top of the hills and the reservoirs are allowed to be filled with river water. This paper presents a renewable energy-based system where the wind turbine and hydro power plant are combined together to produce electricity in bulk. Universal generating function technique is used to obtain the reliability function of the proposed system. Also tail signature, signature, expected cost rate, expected lifetime, and Barlow-Proschan Index are estimated.

Parametric optimization of friction stir welding of Al-Mg-Si alloy: A case study Al-Mg-Si合金搅拌摩擦焊接参数优化研究

Al-Mg-Si alloys have wide applications in industries such as aerospace, marine, automobile, construction. In this work, newly developed friction stir welding (FSW) was utilized for joining of AA6082-T6 alloy. The effect of major FSW process variables like rotational speed, traverse speed, and shoulder diameter of tool is studied over microstructural and mechanical characteristics of friction stir welded (FSWed) joints. Experimental design was done using Taguchi method (L9 orthogonal array). Three factors viz. rotational speed, welding speed, and diameter of tool shoulder were taken at three levels each. Mathematical modelling was developed in order to optimize the tensile strength of weld joints. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was utilized to determine the percentage contribution of input variables. The results of present study exhibits that shoulder diameter, rotation, and welding speed of tool significantly affect the mechanical strength of FSWed joints.

It is well-known that the production-inventory problem for deteriorating items in the supply chain is a challenge when deciding on how many products to manufacture to obtain a maximum total profit. This research work develops an economic production quantity model for a deteriorating item under partial trade credit policy considering inflation, the effect of reliability factor of a production system, and the demand depending on the price of a product whose selling price is optimized. The production inventory model is formulated as a nonlinearly constrained optimization problem by analyzing different cases. Finally, through a numerical example, a sensitivity analysis is performed to study the effect of different parameters, changing one parameter at a time and keeping others fixed at their original values.

Testing effort based software reliability assessment incorporating FRF and change point 结合FRF和变更点的基于测试工作的软件可靠性评估

In today's World, to meet the demand of high quality and reliable software systems, it is imperative to perform comprehensive testing and debugging of the software code. The fault detection and removal rate may change over time. The time point after which the rates are changed is termed as the change point. Practically, the failure count may not coincide with the total fault count removed from the system. Their ratio is measured by Fault Reduction Factor (FRF). Here, we propose a Weibull testing effort dependent Software Reliability Growth Model with logistic FRF and change point for assessing the failure phenomenon of a software system. The models have been validated on two real software fault datasets. The parameters are estimated using Least squares and various criteria are employed to check the goodness of fit. The comparison is also facilitated with the existing models in literature to demonstrate that proposed model has better performance.

Methods of optimization of Hausdorff distance between convex rotating figures 凸旋转图形间Hausdorff距离的优化方法

We studied the problem of optimizing the Hausdorff distance between two convex polygons. Its minimization is chosen as the criterion of optimality. It is believed that one of the polygons can make arbitrary movements on the plane, including parallel transfer and rotation with the center at any point. The other polygon is considered to be motionless. Iterative algorithms for the phased shift and rotation of the polygon are developed and implemented programmatically, providing a decrease in the Hausdorff distance between it and the fixed polygon. Theorems on the correctness of algorithms for a wide class of cases are proved. Moreover, the geometric properties of the Chebyshev center of a compact set and the differential properties of the Euclidean function of distance to a convex set are essentially used. When implementing the software package, it is possible to run multiple times in order to identify the best found polygon position. A number of examples are simulated.

A joint inventory model with reliability, carbon emission, and inspection errors in a defective production system 有缺陷生产系统中具有可靠性、碳排放和检验误差的联合库存模型

Nowadays, environment is an important concern of industries parallel to the economy. In this direction, a joint vendor-buyer model is exhibited where the system reliability and inspection errors are discussed along with the carbon emission issue. The main goal of this model is to obtain the optimum investment, shipment size, reliability and lead time even the inspection errors present in the system. A reliability dependent unit production cost is utilized to raise the machinery system reliability. Transportation of products use the single-setup-multi-unequal-delivery (SSMUD) policy to reduce carbon emission. Mathematical problem is solved analytically and a quasi-closed-form solution is found. Total cost is minimized with the optimum level of decision variables. Globality of the decisions is proved by Hessian matrix. Results demonstrate that the total cost is minimized even though the optimum solutions are obtained in quasi-closed- form. Numerical example is elaborated to test the validity of the model and to clarify the comparison among SSSD, SSMD, and SSMUD policies.

Behavioral influences on strategic interactions outcomes in game theory models 博弈论模型中行为对战略互动结果的影响

Traditional decision-making models assume full rationality of all actors. Nevertheless, the practice has shown that the behavior and choices of actors are influenced by many factors such as motives, beliefs, opinions, personal and social preferences, as well as cognitive biases. Moreover, it has already been proven that people have limitations in their ability to collect relevant information and respond to them, i.e., they are bounded rational. All this has contributed to the development of behavioral models in many disciplines including game theory. This paper provides a detailed review of the literature regarding behavioral models of strategic decision making. Bounded rationality and other cognitive biases in the strategic interactions are illustrated through the findings of numerous experimental studies.

In this paper we study a coordinated stock replenishment, pricing, and advertisement problem for an inventory with advance booking system. A single period planning horizon is considered, consisting of both advance sales and spot sales periods. The discount is offered to the customers for booking the product in advance when the replenishment arrives. The product demand is price and advertising expenditure sensitive. This paper aims to find the optimal ordering quantity, selling price, and advertising expenditure of the product, which maximizes the total profit. The solution algorithm is suggested for computing the optimal solution, which is illustrated numerically.

A single period planning horizon is considered, consisting of both advance sales and spot sales periods. The discount is offered to the customers for booking the product in advance when the replenishment arrives. The product demand is price and advertising expenditure sensitive. This paper aims to find the optimal ordering quantity, selling price, and advertising expenditure of the product, which maximizes the total profit. Inventory relief chain model with deterioration and disposal of relief commodity 考虑救济物资变质与处置的库存救济链模型

Our environment can be hit by disasters such as earthquake, flood, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc., and if any happens, organizations (private or government) start to provide facilities for evacuation and supply of relief commodities in the affected regions. This paper formulates an inventory-relief-chain (IRC) model with the relief supply chain for the relief commodity distribution. The results of the model provide the optimal number of intermediate distribution and relief centers. However, in the study, every center is considered to distribute relief commodities. The model is formulated with a core objective to optimize the total cost of the relief operation. An algorithm is proposed to find the optimal solution of the model. Furthermore, a numerical analysis is carried out on a numerical example to validate the efficiency of the algorithm. The sensitivity analysis is done over the optimal solution and the respective parameters of the model, at the same time representing the strength of the model,i.e., the extent these parameters are sensitive to the objective. The model can help relief organizations when managing relief supplies to the disaster areas.

Improved starting solutions for the planar p-median problem 改进平面p中值问题的起始解

In this paper we present two new approaches for finding good starting solutions to the planar p-median problem. Both methods rely on a discrete approximation of the continuous model that restricts the facility locations to the given set of demand points. The first method adapts the first phase of a greedy random construction algorithm proposed for the minimum sum of squares clustering problem. The second one implements a simple descent procedure based on vertex exchange. The resulting solution is then used as a starting point in a local search heuristic that iterates between the well-known Cooper?s alternating locate-allocate method and a transfer follow-up step with a new and more effective selection rule. Extensive computational experiments show that (1) using good starting solutions can significantly improve the performance of local search, and (2) using a hybrid algorithm that combines good starting solutions with a deep" local search can be an effective strategy for solving a diversity of planar p-median problems.
