It is argued that the commercialization of cultural heritage in the Historic Center of Zacatecas (CHZ) pushed one hand, an increase in land prices in the built heritage and on the other, attracting tourists who changed their economy towards entertainment and tourism. The theoretical argument recovers the discussion on tourist gentrification, but it is separated from touristification as a phenomenon associated with housing. The use of the trajectories methodology located behavior, rhythm and consequences of the process over time (1990-2020) and allowed to conclude that the CHZ experienced a successful gentrification in the appropriation of public space for entertainment and tourism that took advantage of the valuation cultural; but it failed in the displacement of the low-income population to the periphery, due to its precariousness, high land prices and the little interest of the high-income population to live in it.

This work establishes a relation between gender and representation in order to shed light over an epistemic gaze that tends to conceal the knowledge produced by women and override their role as knowing subjects. In this regard, the article analyzes, using the concept “coloniality of seeing”, the representation made, through the exhibition “Femicide in Mexico” (2017) at the Memory and Tolerance Museum in Mexico City, of a group of activism women from the urban outskirts. This approach facilitates to observe how the curatorial use of a set of photographs triggered an epistemic injustice that excluded these women ́s voices from the knowledge/power field that was shaped by the exhibit. Thus, the article posits that collective recognition of women ́s lives, within the context of femicide violence, is sustain by the ways those lives are narrated and framed by women ́s actions and words.

This essay addresses and analyzes the discourse and strategy of evangelical actors who have built their action and power in the public space from collec- tive protest action, political advocacy and interaction with other actors and spaces of civil society. The analysis emphasizes the implications and resig-nifications of the strategy of appropriation of public space by groups and networks linked to evangelical neo-progressivism. Our analysis contributes to the discussion about how religious capital contributes to the processes of collective action and social mobilization. It also allows us to recognize the other face of the evangelical in the public sphere, which contrasts with the discourse and practices of neo-fundamentalist religion and which is located on the frontier of protestant religious activism.
