/ Problems in the behavior of children and young people develop in the interaction of several different risk and protective factors found both in individuals and their environment. Leisure time is part of an individual’s microsystem and as such has a strong educational and preventive potential. This paper aims to provide an overview of certain theories and recent empirical knowledge about the role of leisure time in modern prevention practice. The paper analyzes the organization and implementation of leisure activities and their impact on children, especially in the part of structured and unstructured activities. Some examples of quality practice from Western countries are given, and Croatian practice in this area is critically reviewed. The aforementioned knowledge is put into relation with modern prevention science and associated empirical results that support the importance of leisure time in prevention interventions.

of 329 participants. The results of the analysis show that men (regardless of age) rate their physical health significantly higher than women. Older elders are more satisfied with their finances than younger elders, and younger elders are more open to new life experiences than older elders in the female subsample only. Younger old women rate their aging process as more successful and are more generative than younger old men, but older old men are more successful and have a greater sense of generativity than older old women. Significant differences were also found between people with different educational status. These findings suggest that people in old age should not be treated as a homogeneous population and confirm the importance and need to consider older people as heterogeneous subgroups.

to the continuity hypothesis, significant positive associations of negative emotions, number of awakenings, induction techniques and frequency of lucid dreams with symptoms of psychopathology were found. Moreover, negative significant correlations between sleep quality, desire for a new lucid dream, positive emotions and intensity of lucid dreams with the examined symptoms were found, as well as different patterns of defense mechanisms with lucidity dimensions in dreams. The obtained results show that, in addition to the quality of sleep, the number of awakenings and the desire for a new lucid dream, emotionality and induction techniques are important determinants of the psychological well-being of lucid dreamers. This represents a significant shift in research and understanding of the multidimensionality of lucid dreaming so far.
