The analysis of the social variables that influence the allocation of custody has become an increasingly recurrent phenomenon under study. The present article, using the push and pull theoretical approach and focusing on the case of Spain, aims to examine how these variables influence the allocation of the shared modality, distinguishing between sociodemographic (characteristics of marriage) on the one hand and contextual (structural-economic and public opinion) on the other. The methodology used to study the data has been quantitative, using multiple linear regression as an analysis technique. The created database has been generated from the Statistics on Annulments, Separations and Divorces of the National Statistics Institute (INE, in the Spanish acronym) and from different rates obtained from the INE and the Sociological Research Center. The main conclusion is that although the two regression models obtained explain the allocation of joint custody, it is the set of contextual variables and specifically the gross domestic product of each autonomous community that have the greatest explanatory power.

This article explores the main trends observed in the evolution of the populations registered in the Portuguese prison system between 2000 and 2017. Based on an analysis that spans the changes in the field of Criminal Law, official statistical data, and national and international stud-ies and reports on the application of the prison sentence in the country, we aim at understanding and identifying some of the challenges posed to the prison system by the movement of the prison population, as well as by the changes registered in the profile of this population. The evolution and trends identified make it possible to inquire about the impact of the law and to help identify some of the paths that remain to be traced in response to the international legal imperatives in matters of the incarcerated population.

The literary field is a cultural form, an individualized system of practices, characterized by its attributes and the structure that it assumes. Inside the form, the actors formulate discourses about their practices, from which emerge both a set of rules that regulate practices and a structure. Structure, norm, and practitioners compete to give shape to the form. From the different understandings of what belongs (or not) to the literary domain and some (r)evolutions in the field, this article defines the elements of a cultural form and gives an account of its dynamics that, throughout time, explains the fact that some rules may be reformulated and new bearers to be introduced, with the cultural form undergoing some restructuration without losing its identity.
