The objective of this study is to determine the frequency and the effects of smoking on health and establish the importance of some educational programs for preventing and quitting smoking for teenagers and young people. The cross-sectional study was created in 2011-2012, within the partnership educational projects, No. 357/2011 and 356/2011, the sample comprised 515 subjects (228 male, 287 female) from both urban and rural areas, 12-20 years of age. They were medically and anthropometrically examined and they filled out questionnaires containing 41 items. The results were statistically processed with SPSS version 13. 37.18% of the participants, of both genres, smoked at least once in a lifetime. 55.17% of the boys and 65.04% of the girls first tried a cigarrete between 11 and 16 years of age. 49.70% of the participants had regular smokers in their families. 37.63% of the girls and 25.67% of the boys had consistent smoker parents. The cardio-vascular and digestive illnesses were found in 24.59% of the participants’ family members, these cases all being followed by diabetes and metabolic diseases (22.95%). 31.71% of the participants of both genres considered their health status as satisfactory, the acute infections of upper respiratory tract being the most common. Young people start smoking for various reasons. Awareness campaigns are, thus, necessary, in order to popularize the negative effects of smoking on health for both active and passive smokers, passive smokers who are not to be blamed in any case.

Apstrakt: Predmet istraživanja su demografske promjene koje su bitno determinisane promjenama koje se događaju u ekonomskom, društvenom, kulturnom, zdravstvenom i tehničko-tehnološkom razvoju Republike Srpske. Cilj istraživanja je definisati pojmove potrebne za razumijevanje procesa demografskog starenja, te istražiti trendove demografskih kretanja u Republici Srpskoj. Doprinos istraživanja sastoji se u utvrđivanju ekonomskih i socijalnih posljedica demografskih procesa. Demografska kretanja u Repubici Srpskoj su već duže vremena izrazito negativna. Dominantni procesi koji se ističu su nedovoljno rađanje i proces demografskog starenja. Dugoročne posljedice ovih procesa su već sada vidljive, ali u budućnosti bi mogle biti i još izraženije. Kao i većina posttranzicionih zemalja, Srpska je suočena s niskim stopama fertiliteta i zato joj je potrebna aktivna populaciona politika koja će pomoći u povećanju stopa fertiliteta i demografskom oporavku, a s tim povezano i ekonomskom oporavku.

Hemiparesis is a syndrome of brain damage leading to motor weakness of one half of the body accompanied by changes in sensibility , as well as speech and psychological and other changes in the patient. Medical gymnastics-kinesiotherapy (KTH) enhances sensory and motor recovery of the patient . The study was conducted on 148 patients (88 men and 60 women) aged 45-87 years who have been at the rehabilitation treatment in ZZFMR ,,Dr. M. Zotovic' in Banja Luka. The aim of the study was to examine the effect of KTH in improving walking function in patients with hemiparesis. Measurements of functional ability Motoricity Index, and Test UP & Go were performed in all patients on admission and at the end kinesiotherapeutic treatment, which lasted an average of 4 weeks. We followed the effect of kth program and questioned the degree of recovery of patients with hemiparesis in relation to sex and age. For statistical analyzes, we used the median test and the Wilcoxon rank test. The research results have identified a statistically significant increase in recent side - the motor index at discharge in relation to the receipt of all observed parameters. Test UP & GO showed a statistically significant increase in the release of results in relation to the admission of patients except for patients females and older than 75 years.

Solving complex tasks in the process of upbringing and education, and influenting on their health, growth and development of the pupils, demands good knowledge of age characteristics, in this case, characteristics of early age children. The purpose of this research is to determine how much is experimental programme, which was conducted during one school year, influenting the morphological characteristics. The applied experimental program was composed of athletics exercises, sports games, exercises on the pieces of equipment and on the floor, rhythmics and dancing exercises and some additional exercises. 13 metrical instruments were used for evaluation of morphological characteristics of male students. Multivariant and univariant analysis of variance for repeated measures (MANOVA and ANOVA - repeated measures) were applied for determination of eventual differences between initial and final measuring. The multivariant analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and univariant analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) were applied in order to determine the effects of the experimental program. On the basis of the results and discussion, it can be concluded that the experimental program has statistically significant effects on the changes of some morphological characteristics.
