The evaluation of fifty percent breakdown voltage across Iranian 400 kV transmission line insulators 伊朗400kv输电线路绝缘子50%击穿电压的评估

The Iranian isokeraunic map developed by the authors is presented. A statistical analysis of tower footing resistances of 400 kV lines in the Iranian national grid is also presented. An attempt has been made to evaluate lightning fifty-percent breakdown voltage (V/sub 50/) across 400 kV insulators in Iran, according to obtained keraunic levels and probabilistic results of tower footing resistances. A comparison between calculated V/sub 50/ and V/sub 50/ of presently installed insulators of 400 kV lines in the Iranian transmission system is also presented.<>

Electrode-end contact degradation of metallized polypropylene capacitors in power applications 电力应用中金属化聚丙烯电容器的电极端接触退化

An explanation of the disconnection of 'sprayed ends' from the electrode edges of metallized polypropylene capacitors is given. Experimental observations using transparent cells and post-test analyses of the end-edge contacts show that the disconnection is due to erosion caused by electric sparks. The sparks are a consequence of the irregular nature of the contacts and of high intensities of the current flowing through them. Results of laboratory tests show that the degradation of the contacts is related to the peak value of the current pulses, in agreement with the above explanation. In addition, the results confirm that the degradation is not related to the energy content of the applied pulses.<>

Electrical transport properties of polyimide Langmuir-Blodgett films incorporating MIS junctions fabricated by the LB technique LB技术制备的含有MIS结的聚酰亚胺Langmuir-Blodgett薄膜的电输运特性

The authors fabricated metal-insulator-semiconductor (MIS) junctions having a structure of Au/polymide (PI)/squarylium-dye-arachidic(SQ-C20) mixed system by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique, and then examined the electrical transport properties of the junctions. It was found that a PI LB film becomes a good electrical insulator even when the number of deposited layers is five. From capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurement, it was found that a SQ-C20 multilayered film is depleted at the interface between the PI layer and the SQ-C20 layer even when the biasing voltage was zero millivolts, because positive excess charges are displaced from the gate-Au electrode to the PI layer as deposited. The PI layer incorporated in the junctions makes a significant contribution to the electrical conduction, and asymmetric current-voltage (I-V) characteristics were obtained for the junctions.<>

Optical measurement of induced electric field in water using Pockels device 用波克尔斯装置光学测量水中感应电场

The induced toroidal electric field in water was optically measured by means of a Pockels device. For induction of the electric field based on the transformer principle, multiple primary coils have been used in order to avoid the increase in the primary voltage. A Bi/sub 12/SiO/sub 20/ crystal with a relative permittivity of 56 is used as the Pockels device. Since the electric field inside the crystal becomes much smaller than that in air due to the large permittivity, the electric field measurement has been performed in water in order to increase the sensitivity. The retardations by Pockels effect are on the order of 10/sup -3/ approximately 10/sup -2/, and V/cm, which agrees with those calculated from one-turn voltage within about 20%.<>

Surface dielectric properties of Cu-evaporated alumina insulators in vacuum and air 真空和空气中cu蒸发氧化铝绝缘子的表面介电性能

Metal evaporated on a nonideally smooth surface of ceramic insulators constitutes a discontinuous layer. Thus, the dielectric properties of the ceramic material are preserved, but at the same time one can observe a great change in these properties. The authors present a comparative analysis of some selected surface dielectric properties of alumina insulators on which a copper layer is deposited. The following relations were investigated in air and in vacuum: the dependence of surface resistivity on the amount of deposited copper, the dependence of surface resistivity on voltage, and flashover voltage as a function of surface resistivity. Coating the insulator with copper may cause both an increase (176%) and a decrease (59%) of flashover voltage in vacuum, whereas in air the influence of surface resistivity within the range of 10/sup 8/-10/sup 20/ Omega -cm/cm was not observed.<>

Effects of interface on electrical conduction in epoxy resin composites 界面对环氧树脂复合材料导电性能的影响

The effects of the epoxy-resin interface on electronic conduction were studied by using photocurrent and thermally stimulated current techniques. The electrical properties of epoxy-filler composites are greatly affected by the interfaces in various ways depending on applied field, temperature, carrier species, and mechanical stress. At low temperature, electronic carriers transported from the epoxy layer in epoxy-alumina composites can pass through the epoxy-alumina interface and move in the alumina bulk, increasing the conduction current in the alumina, but they are accumulated at the interface and lead to interfacial polarization at room temperature. At low fields and low temperature, electronic carriers from the alumina layer can pass through the epoxy-alumina interface and increase the conduction current in the epoxy resin, but they are accumulated at the interface at high field and the conduction is explained by the Maxwell-Wagner model. At room temperature, electronic carriers from the alumina layer are blocked by the potential barrier at the interface. However, electronic carriers from the epoxy layer can pass through the epoxy-silica interface and increase the conduction current in the silica at low and room temperature.<>

Study of the local electric field and the Curie transition of ferroelectric polymers 铁电聚合物的局域电场与居里跃迁研究

The ferroelectric properties of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and vinylidene fluoride/trifluoroethylene (VDF/TrFE) copolymers were investigated, with special emphasis on their local electric field and phase transition behavior. The objective of this work was (1) to find the theoretical values of the spontaneous polarization of PVDF and VDF/TrFE copolymers; (2) to evaluate experimentally the Lorentz factor for PVDF beta -phase crystal, which relates the local electric field to the spontaneous polarization; and (3) to investigate the influence of the electrostatic interactions on ferroelectric-to-paraelectric phase transition of VDF/TrFE copolymers.<>

A mathematical model to study the influence of source parameters in polluted insulator tests 研究污染绝缘子试验中源参数影响的数学模型

A mathematical model, based on experimental tests, is developed to study and verify the influence of source parameters on the behavior of polluted insulators in AC systems. This analytical model allows users to reproduce and study several experimental characteristics of polluted insulator tests. The additional term included in the Mayr type arc equation to consider dielectric disruption is adequate for the purpose of pollution simulation. The arc ignition and extinction results obtained in simulations are in agreement with experiments. The influence of source parameters on the arc processes was observed with the model. The simulated results allow evaluation of the adequacy of a source to be used in pollution tests.<>

Temperature and moisture transient flow electrification measurements of transformer pressboard/oil insulation using a Couette facility 使用Couette设备对变压器压板/油绝缘进行温度和湿度瞬态流带电测量

To simulate the flow electrification processes in transformers, a 'Couette facility' has been developed, where transformer oil fills the annulus between coaxial cylindrical electrodes which can be bare metal or covered with transformer pressboard. Rotation of the inner cylinder provides controlled turbulent flow. This turbulent mixing transports electric charge from the electrical double layer at the liquid/solid interfaces to the oil volume. Measurements of the volume charge density are performed using an absolute charge sensor, which brings a sample of fluid from the turbulent core into a Faraday cage. In this facility, the temperature can be controlled from 15 degrees C to 140 degrees C and vacuum drying is used to reduce the moisture level below 1% in the pressboard. The oil conductivity and moisture content can be monitored continuously. Transient measurements with a step change in temperature have shown that the volume charge density follows the temperature.<>

Interferometry of the corona discharge 电晕放电的干涉测量

The authors consider the possibility of applying optical methods of registration of small changes in refractive index to the investigation of processes occurring during corona discharge in gases. The interferometry used makes it possible to determine changes in gas temperature on corona discharge for discharge gaps of ordinary geometry. The discharge occurred in coaxial and needle-plane systems of electrodes. In the latter case holographic methods for increasing the sensitivity of interference measurements were used for data collection. Application of the techniques mentioned above made it possible to determine the mean temperature of the gas in a coaxial system of electrodes, to observe the occurrence of a thin nonluminescent channel during the needle-plane corona discharge, and to make an estimate of the gas temperature in the discharge gap (which considerably exceeded that of the surrounding gas).<>
