Runtime Adaptability through Automated Model Evolution 通过自动模型演化的运行时适应性

Dynamically adaptive systems propose adaptation by means of variants that are specified in the system model at design time and allow for a fixed set of different runtime configurations. However, in a dynamic environment, unanticipated changes may result in the inability of the system to meet its quality requirements. To allow the system to react to these changes we propose a solution for automatically evolving the system model by integrating new variants and periodically validating existing ones based on updated quality parameters. To illustrate our approach we present a BPEL based framework using a service composition model to represent the system functional requirements. Our framework estimates Quality of Service (QoS) values based on information provided by our monitoring mechanism, ensuring that changes in QoS are reflected in the system model. We show how the evolved model can be used at runtime to increase the system's autonomic capabilities and delivered QoS.

Introducing a Method to Derive an Enterprise-Specific SOA Operating Model 引入一种派生特定于企业的SOA操作模型的方法

Considering that each IT-organization is based on an established IT-governance the introduction of SOA as a new overall architectural approach will change the requirements for the specific governance model. The paper presents a SOA-specific governance model which differentiates an operating model, service lifecycle management, service ownership, cost allocation, and meta-data management support. Based on the company's maturity along the SOA-relevant dimensions IT-governance, SOA experience, and process maturity, its size, as well as its organizational structure the paper discusses an SOA operating model with organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, and KPIs. The main assumption of the approach is the alignment of the organizational structure of IT with a functional domain model. This operating model is the outcome of ten industrial workshops and one complex case study based on standards as CobiT and ITIL.

Mobile phones have seen a rapid recent growth due to smaller and lighter handsets, longer battery life, lower phone charges and more widely available services. The most remarkable expansion has been seen in the area of data communications represented by the i-mode information service and 64 kbps PHS communications. Their pace of growth is expected to gain further momentum with the start of IMT2000 in May 2001, which allows high-speed data transmission.

The explosive growth of electronic commerce will cause many changes in the way business is done worldwide. This talk will address the underlying causes and technologies that are enabling the evolution, and also a vision of a highly dynamic economy. Technical capabilities (bandwidth, computing power, storage capacity) are growing rapidly. Systems are moving toward standardized interfaces and distributed processing. Most important, software embodies ever more complex objects, including general business processes and models. Enterprise software will increasingly be built using business-oriented services that are negotiated and accessed over the network. Traditional business practices are characterized by rigidities of location, computing systems, software design, organization limit, closed long-term relationships, industrial sector, and national boundaries. In many cases, these will be replaced by new dynamics: pervasive e-business, distributed computing, network-based service components, virtual enterprises, competitive deal-making, cross-industry markets, and globalization
