We present the high-speed physical-layer secure key generation and distribution in fiber networks. A key generation rate of 2.7 Gb/s is achieved over 10 km single-mode fiber using a specifically-designed bidirectional polarization scrambler.

Research on Self-calibration Strategy of Workpiece Processing Based on Machine Vision 基于机器视觉的工件加工自标定策略研究

Self-calibration processing equipment is studied through measuring the precise size of the workpiece produced in the factory assembly line based on the machine vision measurement technology. Hough circle detection algorithm and subpixel edge algorithm are adopted. After several experiments, the measuring accuracy of the device can reach 0.05mm, which meets the design requirements of measurement accuracy. The self-calibration parameters are sent to the processing equipment through the transmission layer to reduce the rejection rate and improve the enterprise benefits.

A Methodology of Building a Platform to Evaluate the Loss and the Crosstalk in Silicon Photonic Interconnects on Chip 芯片上硅光子互连损耗和串扰评估平台的构建方法

The evaluation of the loss and the crosstalk is essential for the power budget and performance guarantee. In addition, the speed of the evaluation is important to verify different designs and proposals. However, to ensure the accuracy in the professional tools, the speed is constrained and thus not efficient for the evaluation of different designs. Thus, this work proposes a methodology of building a platform to evaluate the loss and crosstalk in silicon photonic interconnects on chip. Compared to the professional tools, the proposed methodology can offer faster evaluation results, although the evaluation accuracy is to be improved further.

A Gas Recognition Method Based on PCA and PSO-LSSVM 基于PCA和PSO-LSSVM的气体识别方法

Gases in the real environment always exist in the form of mixtures, and effective identification of gas types to reduce the occurrence of safety incidents has become an important direction in the field of gas analysis research. This paper proposes a mixed gas identification method based on PCA and PSO-LSSVM. This method uses principal component analysis (PCA) to reduce the dimensionality of the sensor array output signal, and uses the Relief algorithm to select data. The particle swarm algorithm is used to iteratively optimize the relevant parameters in the least squares support vector machine model, and the PSO-LSSVM model is constructed to qualitatively analyze the composition of the mixed gas. This article uses a public data set of mixed gases of ethylene, methane and carbon monoxide to conduct experiments. The experimental results show that the method used in this paper can effectively identify the type of mixed gas, and the recognition accuracy rate reaches 91.67%. The method proposed in this paper can provide a research foundation for the follow-up analysis of the mixed gas concentration.

Curvature sensor based on cascaded dual-core photonic crystal fiber 基于级联双核光子晶体光纤的曲率传感器

In recent years, as the development of aerospace, road bridge, precisioninstrument and other fields, the requirements of curved detection have become more and more precise and multi-point, and the advantages of fiber curvature sensors have become increasingly obvious. Based on the principle of mode interference, we proposed a cascade single-mode fiber, few-mode fiber and dual-core photonic crystal fiber curvature sensor, which can measure the distribution curvature, and solve the problem of measurement of multiple points that cannot be measured using one sensor. The experiment results show that within 0 to 1.06m−1 curvature range, each test point curvature sensitivity and linearity are −1.58 nm/m−1 and 0.98135, −1.62 nm/m−1 and 0.99504, −1.56 nm/m−1 and 0.98301, −1.74 nm/m−1 and 0.99701, and −1.31 nm/m−1 and 0.97315, respectively.

Role of the FBG's bandwidth in long distance point sensing system based on random fiber laser 光纤光栅带宽在基于随机光纤激光器的远距离点传感系统中的作用

We study the influence of the fiber Bragg grating (FBG)'s bandwidth on the performance of the long distance point sensing system based on random fiber laser. The results show that the optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) decreases gradually when the bandwidth of the FBG increases by simulation, under the same pump power, which is demonstrated by the experiment. This work could provide a reference for designing a long-distance optical fiber sensing system.

A broadband single-polarization single-mode hollow core anti-resonant optical fiber 一种宽带单极化单模空芯抗谐振光纤

An anti-resonant hollow core fiber with an ultra-wide bandwidth of single-polarization single-mode (SPSM) operation is realized and analyzed in this paper. Double-ring circular cladding structure is introduced to control the reflection area and suppress high-order modes for the proposed fiber. To achieve SPSM behavior, an epsilon negative (ENG) material is fully filled in the selected cladding tubes to manipulate the effective material absorption loss (EML). By changing the parameters of the proposed fiber, the wanted (X-polarized) and unwanted (Y-polarized and high order) modes yield large loss differences (LD), i.e., SPSM guidance. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that the fiber exhibits an extra-wide SPSM wavelength bandwidth (from 1450 nm to 1620 nm) in conditions of minimum LD > 100 dB/m.

An efficient procedure is presented for evaluating the performance implications of bandwidth narrowing due to cascaded WSSs on probabilistically shaped and uniform 64- QAM using the BW AIR. The constellation distribution that yields the optimum shaping gain in BW AIR for a given SNR depends on the extent of the narrowing.
