Network Coding Enabling Resilient 5G Networks 网络编码实现弹性5G网络

A resilient 5G Network solution adopting Network Coding in the optical transport with minimum buffering requirements is proposed. Network level modelling results demonstrate a 33% reduction in the overall optical network capacity required and 50% reduction of edge node buffer size.

High-capacity and rain-resilient free-space optics link enabled by time-adaptive probabilistic shaping 由时间自适应概率整形实现的高容量和抗雨自由空间光学链路

Using time-adaptive probabilistic shaped 64QAM driven by a simple SNR prediction algorithm, we demonstrate $>$450 Gbps transmission over a 55-m free-space optics link with enhanced resilience towards rainy weather conditions. Through continuous measurement over 3-hours, we demonstrate $sim$40~Gbps average bit-rate gain over unsupervised fixed modulation.

We provide a new analytical model that fully justifies the recently disclosed Generalized Droop Formula of the nonlinear signal-to-noise (SNR) ratio in very-long submarine links with power-mode amplifiers, and show its relation with the Gaussian-Noise model SNR.

Stokes Vector Spectroscopy of Nonlinear Depolarized Light 非线性去偏振光的Stokes矢量光谱学

Experimental Stokes vector spectroscopy characterizes polarization state noise in nonlinear fiber transmission. Noise bandwidths of a few MHz are observed from XPM-blurred receive SOPs using a polarization scrambling interferometer. This method can detect data pattern correlations among WDM channels that contribute to performance degradations in signalling.

Optical frequency comb noise characterization using machine learning 光学频率梳噪声表征使用机器学习

A novel tool, based on Bayesian filtering framework and expectation maximization algorithm, is numerically and experimentally demonstrated for accurate frequency comb noise characterization. The tool is statistically optimum in a mean-square-error-sense, works at wide range of SNRs and offers more accurate noise estimation compared to conventional methods.

We realize dual-polarization full-field recovery using intensity only measurements and phase retrieval techniques based on dispersive elements. 30-Gbaud QPSK waveforms are transmitted over 520-km standard single-mode fiber and equalized from the receiver outputs using 2X2 MIMO.

Routing and Spectrum Allocation with Amplifier Placement in Elastic Metro-Aggregation Networks 弹性城域聚合网络中放大器的路由和频谱分配

We propose a quality-of-transmission (QoT) aware heuristic algorithm for the placement of amplifiers in elastic metroaggregation networks with the objective of minimizing their number while guaranteeing lightpaths’ QoT. Results show that optimized amplifier placement can lead to significant reduction of amplifiers with respect to baseline approaches.
