In experiments on rats it was found that dihydrotachysterol differs markedly from vitamin D in two respects: (1) the dose required to cure rickets is higher, and (2) the therapeutic range is narrower.

Die rasche Realimentation nach schweren Enteritiden verstösst gegen den allgemeinen, medizinischen Grundsatz, dass ein geschädigtes Organ geschont werden muss. Es wird auf die nachgewiesenen anatomischen und funktionellen Schäden hingewiesen. Die rasche Realimentation führt zu voluminösen Stühlen, was man als eine kaschierte Diarrhöe mit weiter gefährdetem Wasser‐ und Mineralhaushalt bezeichnen kann. Das Verfahren wird abgelehnt. Marasmus und Hypoproteinämie entwickeln sich nicht bei korrektem Gebrauch der klassischen Methode.

The presence of atypical mononuclear cells in the peripheral blood is a regular feature in all age groups examined, 1–3, 7 and 21 yrs. The frequency of these cells is highest in the youngest age groups, but only in one of the two investigation areas is this difference of statistical significance. The individual variation is great and the demarcation between normal and pathological is never well defined. Subclinical infections are probably of importance in this connection.
