Short-and long-term morbidity and mortality associated with Covid-19 disease remains high. Obesity is a recognized risk factor for symptomatic Covid-19, disease, hospitalization, critical Covid-19 disease, and fatal organ dysfunctions. Whether obesity is causally linked with mortality of critically ill Covid-19 patients is an unresolved question.
