The occurrence of the Golgi apparatus in mouse oocytes. Demonstration of thiamine pyrophosphatase activity. 小鼠卵母细胞中高尔基体的发生。硫胺素焦磷酸酶活性的证明。

Location of thiamine pyrophosphatase activity as a marker of the Golgi apparatus was studied ultracytochemically in mouse oocytes with germinal vesicle (OGV), oocytes at metaphase I (OMI) and oocytes at metaphase II (OMII), and further in cells of the respective cumulus oophorus serving as comparative objects. TPPase activity in cumulus oophorus cells and in OGV was found exclusively in the Golgi apparatus. In OMI the reaction product of TPPase activity was observed in isolated smooth vesicles, and in only one case in structures identifiable as the Golgi apparatus. In OMII the occurrence of TPPase activity was also recorded in isolated smooth vesicles in cortical cytoplasm and further, exceptionally, in smooth concentrically arranged vesicles or tubules. The TPPase activity was not present in vesicular complexes. The results have shown that after the resumption of meiosis the occurrence of the reaction product of TPPase activity drops abruptly due to the reduction of the Golgi apparatus. Changes affecting the Golgi apparatus after the resumption of meiosis are related to the loss of the nucleus after the germinal vesicle breakdown.

Ultrastructural study of small granule containing (SGC) cells in the lower mesenteric ganglion in drug treated guinea-pigs. 药物治疗豚鼠肠系膜下神经节含小颗粒细胞的超微结构研究。

Small granule containing cells (SGC or SIF cells) in the lower mesenteric ganglion of the guinea-pig were studied in control and experimental animals. After reserpine administration a decrease of dense population of granular vesicles was found. After injection of nialamide and dopamine to the animals in SGC cells significantly increased the number and density of granular vesicles. No real efferent synapses were found on SGC cell processes, although sites with accumulated synaptic-like vesicles, mostly with a dense core, were often observed.

Ultrastructural aspects of and observations on the permeability of the rat mesentery to colloidal iron. 大鼠肠系膜对胶体铁通透性的超微结构观察。

In works already published, it was made clear that many researches were interested in the absorption phenomena, permeability and structure of the visceral mesothelial tissue. Attention was concentrated on the mesentery and observations were made using the application of lanthanum nitrate and osmium-amine. The penetration of lanthanum nitrate is impeded by the basement membrane situated between the connective and mesothelial tissues. The heavy salt moves through and not between the mesothelial cells by passive diffusion. No reaction was observed in general with osmium-amine, with the exception of a few cases. In those instances, the osmium-amine reacted not only in the outer surface of the mesentery, but also penetrated with no visible reaction all the way to the connective tissue where it was detected in the elastic layer. In this paper, the colloidal iron was employed using different techniques, and depositions were detected in the surface of the mesentery, in the mesothelial cells and also in the connective tissue. A final conclusion that the permeability of different layers of tissues is of great variety and has a definite capacity for selectivity is suggested.

The Schmidt-Lanterman incisures are formed in the phase of "loose" myelin at 15-17 weeks of prenatal development with the formation of nodes of Ranvier. The formation of mature Schmidt-Lanterman incisure is completed in the second foetis period. Schmidt-Lanterman incisures distribution in nerve fibres of young men depends on fibre diameter. In the nerves of elderly people the distribution of the incisures in the internode doesn't depend on a fibre diameter. In the nerves of the elderly men the number of incisures is twice as much as that in the young people. The incisural ultrastructure in human nerve is similar to its structure in other mammals.

Fine structure of camel erythrocytes in relation to its functions. 骆驼红细胞精细结构与功能的关系。

The fine structure of the red cells in Arabian camels was investigated and certain characteristic features were noted. The plasmalemma of camel erythrocytes are tri-laminar, the inner and outer membranes are of high electron density between which is a zone of lesser electron density. No intracellular organelles were observed with the occasional exception of a small number of mitochondria. In the camel erythrocyte, a marginal band consisting of 30-45 microtubules was observed in many cells. Some of the possible functions of the marginal band in camel erythrocytes are discussed.

This article presents a modified Giemsa-staining. The dye Azure B-Eosinate (Serva, Heidelberg) reformed according to Wittekind was applied to paraffin-slices of decalcified bones of rabbits. Electron microscopical localization of the lead in peripheral blood neutrophils of the rat with timm sulphide silver method and X-ray probe microanalysis. 用硫银法和x射线探针微量分析测定大鼠外周血中性粒细胞中铅的电镜定位。

The distribution of lead ions in rat peripheral neutrophils was investigated using Timm sulphide silver method. In the neutrophils of adult male rats the Pb-precipitates were electron microscopically localized at 1.5, 3.0 and 6.0 hours after a single intraperitoneal injection of lead at dose 150 mgPb kg b. w. After increased lead ions input to cell matrix a formation of cytoplasmic metal deposits as well as an aggregation of Pb-complexes within deep invaginations of nuclear membrane was detectable. Furthermore, the neutrophils were prepared to examination by scanning electron microscope according to Domagała et al. (1979). In neither case there was a clear difference of neutrophil surface morphology between exposed and control populations. The same preparations were then used to X-ray probe microanalysis, and correlation between the presence of Timm reaction product and lead indication was obtained.

A ruthenium red-toluidine blue procedure for staining epoxy sections in the light microscopy. 光学显微镜中环氧树脂切片染色的钌红-甲苯胺蓝方法。

Ruthenium red (RR) has been widely used as a fixation additive for electron microscopy on the basis of its capacity to retain acid mucopolysaccharide residues of the cell surface coat. Little is known about the properties of this compound as a direct staining agent for epoxy-resin embedded material. In this study, semithin sections of Epon-infiltrated muscle tissue samples have been treated with 1% RR followed by counterstaining with 1% toluidine blue. This 2 step staining procedure has proven to be simple, rapid, and reliable and to give a dramatic improvement in image resolution and contrast. Thus, we believe that histochemical procedures employing RR may find in the future interesting applications for the direct staining of epoxy-resin embedded tissues.

The nerve fiber layer of the opossum olfactory bulb, formed by axons originating from bipolar neurons in the olfactory epithelium, and glomeruli are intensely immunoreactive for olfactory marker protein. The surrounding extra-glomerular neuropil contains numerous periglomerular neurons immunoreactive for either tyrosine hydroxylase or corticotropin releasing factor. Dendrites of both types of immunoreactive neurons extend into the intraglomerular neuropil. CRF-immunoreactive neurons are fewer in number than TH-immunoreactive neurons and are observed primarily in the periglomerular region. Occasional, scattered TH-immunoreactive neurons are seen in the deeper layers of the olfactory bulb.

Effects of met-enkephalin on the adrenocorticotropic cells of the rat pituitary. 脑啡肽对大鼠垂体促肾上腺皮质细胞的影响。

The effects of chronic administration of met-enkephalin (40 micrograms/d during 20 days) on ACTH producing cells of the rat adenohypophysis have been studied both in light (PAP-immunocytochemistry for ACTH) and electron microscope. In addition a morphometric analysis and a percent distribution of secretory granules were performed. The ACTH cells of treated animals showed ultrastructural signs of hyperactivity, and some of them vacuolization (small vacuoles or a large central vacuole). The secretory granules of the experimental animals are larger and more spherical than the ones in the untreated and the control animals. We discuss the possible mechanism of action whereby met-enkephalin influences ACTH cells.
