'Government lights the fuse for privatisation' blazed the Health visitor journal's front cover when the NHS and Community Care Act was passed in 1990. Since then the debate on the future of the NHS has raged. Some 500 primary school children took part in a health promotion campaign organised by west Devon school health sister Moira Walley to raise awareness of the dangers of passive smoking. Part of the campaign was a competition to make a 'desk-top reminder' about the dangers of smoking, which produced some original and striking results.
