Due to aging and gingival recession, the radicular structures are exposed to cariogenic attacks from the oral cavity. This phenomenon leads to a constantly higher frequency of root caries. The aspect of these carious lesions was analysed by a histological and an SEM study. To conclude the study, a clinical description of the lesions and an epidemiological survey were realized on 112 patients for 16 months.

Traumatisms on the deciduous upper incisors could induce orthodontic indirect consequences on the permanent germ, dependent on his growth level and his malleability, dependent on connection between the root of deciduous incisor and the crown of permanent germ and according to the type of traumatism. According to those various data, it should be observed on the permanent incisor: germination of two germs, multiple odontoma, crown dilaceration, severe tipping of the crown with facial angulation, retention of the permanent germ with lack of root resorption of the deciduous teeth or simple cross-bite, without speaking of enamel defect.

M Klapisz-Wolikow, A Gouvernaire, I Lys-Masanes, C Adam, P Moulin
The authors, explain the need of a pulpo-dentinal protection, and present the way to adopt in case of dental traumas, as well for hard tissues (coronal and radicular) and for non calcified tissues (luxations). This protection allows a cicatrisation of dento-periodontal tissues.

The purpose of this article is to report a possible use of dental implants in children. The immediate implantation of an aluminium artificial frialite root, is described in an 8 years old child following the complete avulsion with loss of her center incisor. Osteo integration and the surgical placement technique of the Frialite implant are reviewed. The selection of an implant and of the immediate implantation concept are also discussed in this article. This implant will either become functional as a prosthetic abutment or esthetic by filling the alveolus, as it avoids the formation of a concavity in the edentulous ridge.

With the use of calcium hydroxide, apexification and apexogenesis will result in the formation of an apical barrier (osteo-cementum or similar hard tissue) or in the apical closure of the traumatised tooth, in order to realise later on, a hermetic and permanent root canal obturation.

In this article a simple and rational technique is described to make a complete denture. This technique is based upon the utilization of the articulator as an instrument necessary to the realization of the final prosthesis and as an intermediary between the general practitioner and the laboratory technician. As the physiology rules the determinants of the occlusion, the mandibular kinetics determines the orientation of posterior teeth. This way, step by step, the physiological recording of the condylar pathway, of the anterior guidance and of the level of the plane of occlusion will enable the laboratory to realize a set-up of the prosthetic teeth to conform with the esthetic criterias.

This article is about the different iatrogenic (or others) mechanical and/or chemical trauma that can affect the mandibular nerve and which can lead to paresthesia. Depending on the different causes of the paresthesia, the prognosis for the nerve sensitivity regeneration will vary: in some cases treatment is necessary to make the symptoms disappear, in others expectation will be the rule and the prognosis is very poor.

The observation of a sample of 2000 patients enabled us to individualize a group whose fright of dental care showed all the characteristics of a phobia in the ethological meaning of the term. Such a phobia definitely seems to have a link with an experience of pain during a previous dental treatment. It could be considered as a particular example of prepared learning.
