&NA; Since the first kidney transplant in 1954, the state of the science for this surgery has continued to progress, with steadily increasing success and survival rates. The National Kidney Foundation reports that over 17,000 kidney transplants were performed in 2014. &NA; New therapies and evolving scientific concepts are significantly improving outcomes for patients with prostate cancer. A greater emphasis on delivering state‐of‐the‐art nursing care and personalization of treatments is needed. Nurses often spend significant time with patients, caregivers, and their families, and develop personal relationships that present opportunities for enhanced education of treatment options that may reflect patients' lifestyles and personal preferences. Newer drugs are costly, and their use should be discussed with the patient in regard to choice of treatment, potential survival benefits, and overall quality‐of‐life outcomes.

&NA; The following case discusses a 62‐year‐old female patient who presented to a local emergency department with severe abdominal pain and acute urinary retention secondary to bladder stones. She was diagnosed with a cystocele and uterine prolapse. Video urodynamic studies (VUDS) were undertaken for further evaluation, but due to the altered anatomical landmarks, the left ureter was inadvertently initially cannulated, then corrected.

&NA; Prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosis in men. Typically, men diagnosed with localized prostate cancer requiring treatment are offered two potentially curative treatment options: radical prostatectomy (RP) or radiation therapy. Commencing pelvic floor muscle (PFM) exercises pre‐operatively can improve post‐prostatectomy urinary incontinence (PPI), but men may experience difficulty in correctly performing these exercises, with difficulty isolating and correctly contracting the PFM. Research supports the need for individual PFM exercise instruction and assessment, and investigation of alternative means of providing this information to ensure participants have mastered the technique prior to RP.
