Arteriovenous Fistula (AVF) creation by nephrologists is less common in India and US than in European countries. The crucial advantage of this process in North East India is that the nephrologists have better chances of getting relatively intact veins than the surgeons as they examine the patient before referring them to the surgeon for AVF creation.
