In this article I explore the history of Merida's Soka Gakkai a Secular Buddhist New Religious Movement localized in Japan. The main objective is to analyze its institutionalization process in order to understand its establishment in a foreign context, recognizing the disruptive forces that arise as part of the organizational complexity. Firstly, I present an historical overview of the Soka Gakkai and its religious background, from the Buddhism of Nichiren. Subsequently, I divide in stages the development of the group (incipient organization, efficiency and formalism) to find the historical junctures that explain the current condition of the Soka Gakkai in Merida. Finally, I discuss a vision as a whole from the analysis.

Monolingual Spanish-Speaking youth in Merida currently state that the Mayan language is valuable and prestigious. Nevertheless, when they choose to learn a second language, preference leans towards English or another language. Motivated by this discrepancy, this study explores attitudes that influence the decisions of speakers to value one language and study another.

This study analyzes the vulnerability of the elderly women in Mexico and, particularly, in two Mayan communities in Campeche, and Yucatán; as well as the strategies of the women and their families to tackle poverty in a context of social inequality, exclusion and discrimination. Some demographic aspects of the female population and the types of support or transfers received from the state, community and family have been identified. It also points out the resources that they continue providing to the family group. With these data it is noted that especially the female age is in a situation of vulnerability that needs to be attended with precision and that, at the same time and contrary to what you might think, older women are not passive subjects or a burden, but continue to provide various resources to the family.

This article is about the concept of social vulnerability, in the contex-tualizing the situation of woman in the Latin-American region, after which we center particularly in the case of the Salvadorian women and their human right in healthcare.
This case study makes an approach of the women situation of disadvantage and powerlessness inside a legal system which excludes them as decision subjects, towards their own body and puts their human rights on a second level. This work seeks to present the concept of vulnerability as a multifactorial problem which is reflected in every environment and structure of the societies. This concept becomes more visible in groups of women in conditions of social exclusion, poverty and marginalization.

This article exposes the conception of gender vulnerability that has been built for less than a decade, starting with an analysis of the social phenomena which is expressed in contexts of poverty and migration; particularly focusing our attention on the health as a topic.
Our work has acquired some relevance, specifically on the relation of mental health and hiv/aids and their involvement on people's relational system. We have located dimensions which are currently present and naturalized through a consensus system of social representations, that we could summarize as gender mandates that define the role as much in men as for women. We specifically analyzed the emotional and subjective effect that women from migratory and extremely poor communities present, as well as their social representations of their life path.
