Rehabilitation Implantology can be a safe alternative for solving complex cases, especially when working in an interdisciplinary way with other specialties. The objective of this article is to describe a clinical case of oral rehabilitation of a 33-year-old female patient, with symptoms of inflammation and pain in element 24, due to failure in previous endodontic treatment. The image examination revealed root perforations, leakage of obturator material, periapical lesion, and loss of the buccal bone wall. In order to preserve as much bone structure as possible, element 24 was removed in a minimally traumatic way, starting with orthodontic apparatus 72 hours before extraction surgery. After extraction, guided bone regeneration therapy (GBR) was performed with a healing period of 8 months. Then, an implant was installed for subsequent rehabilitation with a single prosthesis. Interdisciplinary integration enabled the perfect reestablishment of the patients oral functions.

Gingival recession is the generic term that means exposure of the teeth root surface. It can cause aesthetic problems, dentin hypersensitivity or even favor the appearance of root caries. Depending on the patients complaint, it can be treated in different ways, such as through direct resin restorations, root desensitization or even surgical root coverage. The latter can be obtained through coronal/lateral repositioning of the flap with or without a connective tissue graft. Currently, the removal of subepithelial connective tissue graft from the patients palate be replaced by 3D collagen matrices, generating satisfactory aesthetic results. The aim of this case series was to evaluate the evolution of root coverage treatment using the protocol for covering multiple gingival recessions with the association of soft tissue substitute and enamel matrix-derivative proteins. Seven systemic healthy adult patients complaining of root exposure sought at our clinic. Coronal flap repositioning associated with soft tissue substitute and enamel matrix-derivative proteins was proposed. All patients were treated with the same surgical technique. At the end of 30 months postoperatively, the patients self-reported satisfactory results, with root coverage close to 85% and total coverage in 50% of the treated teeth, with no complaints of pain, considerable edema and/or hemorrhage in the immediate postoperative period. This protocol used seems to obtain satisfactory results regarding aesthetic complaints or dentin hypersensitivity reported by patients at the beginning of treatment.

To promote an effective and predictable treatment planning in cases of gingival smile correction, a periodontal surgical guided from virtual planning could be used. The guide was designed using planning software, based on the patient’s facial aesthetic analysis, photos and intraoral scanning. The present case report describes a gingival smile correction, using digital planning combined with high-power diode laser for periodontal surgery. After 16 months of preservation, there was less exposure of the gingiva in the smile and a high level of patient aesthetic satisfaction. Considering the importance of the correct treatment planning, it may be concluded that use of surgical guided made from a digital planning provided a predictable, personalized and safe treatment to the patient.

The direct restoration technique is the most used to treat the sequelae of dental caries. With the constant evolution of dental materials, emerged in the dental market Cention n (Ivoclar Vivadent), material belonging to the group of alkasite materials. This material has as proposal a higher mechanical resistance than the composite resin, with the similar color to the tooth and with good marginal sealing power. The present study aimed to compare the marginal infiltration of enamel in restorations using Cention n (Ivoclar Vivadent) with and without the use of adhesive and composite resin. Twenty one cavities were performed on the buccal surface of seven bovine incisor teeth. The cavities were divided into three groups: Group I - restoration with Cention n (Ivoclar Vivadent) without adhesive; Group II - restoration with Cention n (Ivoclar Vivadent) with adhesive; and Group III - adhesive system and vittra APS (FGM) resin. The collected data were submitted to the Anova statistical test in which the comparison between Groups I and II, II and III, and I and III was performed. In none of the cases a significant difference was found (p <0.05). Despite the limitations of an in vitro study, the results suggest that the marginal sealing of composite resin and alkasite do not differ significantly from each other.

Objective: It consists of reporting a clinical case of taking a facial arch and assembling a semi-adjustable articulator (ASA) for occlusal diagnosis. Case report: A 22-year-old female patient sought dental care because she was sensitive to element 24. It was clinically observed that the patient had a non-carious cervical lesion. The patient showed a physiological occlusion and an unfavorable positioning of elements 22 and 23. Thus, an attempt was made to investigate the presence of abrasive and erosive habits, which were not reported by the patient. Thus, a clinical evaluation and model assembly in ASA was conducted to identify possible occlusal interference, which would be triggering such injury. The following figures report the clinical case, occlusal registration, taking the facial arch itself, removing the facial arch, angulation adjustments in the ASA, mounting the upper and lower model in the position of maximum usual intercuspation. Conclusion: The use of the semi-adjustable articulator and the facial arch contributed to the diagnosis, planning and treatment of the case. Therefore, these instruments must be part of the dental surgeon’s clinical practice in order to offer greater predictability during oral rehabilitation.
