Results A total of 10 children (7 females) underwent TIPSS. The primary indication was variceal haemorrhage in all the patients with different diagnoses (Table-1). Congenital Hepatic Fibrosis was the most common aetiology (50%). Three patients (30%) needed revision in a mean of 24.2 month post-procedure. 7 patients (70%) did not require revision 36 month post procedure, with a mean follow up of 60.5 month. Pre-operative high serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) was associated with TIPSS failure (p value =0.027) and thus, can be used as a pre-operative predictor for failed TIPSS. Other variables did not show significant association with TIPSS procedure including patients age and weight. Conclusion This study involves the association of multiple variables with TIPSS outcomes in children. ALP showed a relative association as a predictor to TIPSS failure. Further studies are needed with a larger sample.

Negative Expansion Coe cient of Water (4A20.30) -a 2 liter ask of colored water with a glass tube inserted through the stopper is kept in a bath of ice water until the temperature of the water in the ask has fallen to 0° C. The water level in the vertical tube is noted, and the ask and tube are removed from the ice bath. As the temperature of the ask water rises above 0° C, the water level in the tube drops until the water has warmed to about 4° C, the temperature of maximum density, then begins to rise. Demonstrates why ice oats, and always forms at the top surface of the water.

A new species of sarcophagid, Colcondamyia auditrix, is described, which locates its cicada host by sound. The fly was shown to respond to the mating song of the male cicada, and the majority of parasitized cicadas were male. Parasitism of females occasionally occurs when they are attracted to males simultaneously with the parasite. Levels of parasitism varied from 18.6% in 1962 to 0.2% in 1967 to 14.1% in 1973. Male cicadas lost their sound producing capability following parasitization, rendering them inaccessible to further female flies and thus apparently preventing multiple parasitism. auteurs decrivent nouvelle espkce auditrix audition.
