In this work we investigated the correlation between the emission properties of Scandia doped dispenser cathodes and their surface features. A proposal for explanation of the observed phenomena has been suggested.

There has been much research interest in improving magnetron performance by employing various priming techniques, such as shaped cathodes and nonuniform magnetic fields. These priming techniques have been successfully applied to reduce magnetron noise and also improve mode-locking and efficiency (Neculaes et al., 2005), (P. Fleming et al., 2007).

The development of a selective metallization process capable of metallizing only the top of a microfabricated, raised meander line ridge is described. This fabrication process has unique potential in the development of millimetre-wave and terahertz regime slow wave structures for travelling wave tubes. The fabrication process will be described and the latest images and measured data will be presented.

Simulation of resonant meander-line loaded helical slow-wave structure for a TWT 行波管弯曲线加载螺旋慢波结构的谐振仿真

An approach to modeling a resonant meanderline attenuator of helical slow-wave structure for a travelingwave tube is presented that uses eigen-mode solver in HFSS. The dispersion, interaction impedance and attenuation characteristics of the structure in the presence of the resonant attenuator were predicted using the model and were validated against experimental results, published elsewhere.

These MBKs operate on the frequency range from 8-10GHz, and have peak power of 50-100 kW, average power of 2.5-5 kW. The main design specifications of these MBKs are listed.

A triode type magnetron injection gun (MIG) shown in Fig. 1 for a 200 kW, 42 GHz gyrotron has been designed. Operating voltage of modulating anode is 29 KV and accelerating voltage is 65 KV. Operation mode of this gyrotron is TE03 and it would be used in a TOKAMAK system for plasma heating. This MIG is designed by using commercially available code EGUN and three in house developed software code MIGSYN, GINTMESH and MIGANS respectively.

Vacuum electronics play a large and expanding role in communication and broadcasting networks. It is well known that TWTs are commonly used in satellite downlink transmitters because of their high efficiency and low weight. But vacuum electronics are also essential to many forms of earth-based communications. Uplink satellite stations use TWTs, EIKs, CCTWTs and Klystrons to provide communications links that are cost-efficient and reliable. Terrestrial repeaters using Klystrons and TWTs provide digital radio signals where satellite cannot reach. Inductive output tubes (IOTs) (Klystrodes) power UHF television broadcasts with HDTV content. Troposcatter systems use Klystrons and TWTs to provide point-point high data rate links for transportable applications.
