Purpose: Commercial banks have over time had procurement performance challenges owing from the poor procurement planning as reported in different procurement management literature. This study was carried out to examine the relationship between procurement planning and procurement performance of Centenary Bank Mapeera (CBM). Materials and Methods: Cross sectional survey research design was used to collect both quantitative and qualitative data from centenary bank team leaders, tender committee members, procurement officers, legal officers, procurement and disposal unit staff, credit officers, branch management officers and from prequalified suppliers and provider’s FY 2022/23. From a total population of 190 employees, a sample size of 129 was determined using Slovin’s (1965) formula. Specific random and none random sampling techniques were used to select respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires and interview guide and was analyzed using correlation and thematic analysis techniques. Findings: The findings displayed in the correlation analysis results for CBM (r = 0.653, p<.01) show a significant positive relationship between the predictor variable and the outcome variable. Specifically, budgeting and procurement performance at CBM were positive and significant (r =0.532, p<.01); needs assessment and procurement performance were significant and positive (r =0.484, p<.01); however, for contract administration and procurement performance the relationship was positive but none significant (r =0.613, p>.05). The likely explanation here could have been the fact that entities are geared towards cost reduction at the cost of quality improvement which would be possible through procurement planning. Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: From this study it is envisaged that commercial banks which institute systematic procurement planning systems would realize improvement in procurement performance. Purpose: A better understanding of the current state of procurement analytics is the goal of this article. This paper seeks to answer three main questions: first, where do we see procurement analytics going from here? Second, how can we incorporate analytical solutions into the procurement process? Third, what new research directions do we see opening because of thinking about where we see procurement analytics going from here? Materials and Methods: Using a qualitative technique, this article compiles data from places: a survey of the relevant literature, and a look at several technological platforms both now and in the future This study's procurement analytics landscape predicts that the sourcing and supply chain tech landscape will see more dramatic changes over the next five years. Data integrity and quality challenges are limiting analytics from making substantial advancements, and sophisticated procurement analytics are presently underutilized. Findings: Findings from this research highlight the importance of companies instituting a unified strategy for gathering and preserving reliable organizational data, drawing on existing resources like expenditure analysis and contract databases. It is also necessary to replace the present haphazard methods of collecting unstructured data with a methodical data governance plan. Managing change and fostering an analytical culture are crucial components of this progression for firms. Many studies and papers that look into the future just predict the technical effects of cognitive analytics and big data in general, without delving into the practical implications, including how they will affect procurement. Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: The analysis of this study has helped us get a better knowledge of the potential applications of business analytics and cognitive analytics in the procurement process. Additionally, it contributes to the generation of research topics that are pertinent for the future. To contribute to the current corpus of research and industry reports, this study proposes thorough implementation techniques for developing procurement technologies.

Purpose: The Ricardo Report (2020) recommends a holistic analysis of the effects of the global auto industry on sustainability by assessing the impacts of automobiles on the environment throughout their lifecycle. Much of the literature on sustainability in the transportation sector focuses on vehicle exhaust emissions and their contribution to urban smog, and there has been little consideration of emissions produced during the automobile manufacturing process itself. Materials and Methods: This study builds on the lifecycle emissions approach recommended by the Ricardo Report. Specifically, data on the pounds of pollution emitted was collected from the Toxic Release Inventory report of major multinational automobile producers and analyzed via piecewise linear regression analyses to provide insight about the pollution emitted during a vehicle’s production. Findings: The findings in this study will fill a gap in Ricardo’s “birth to grave” proposal to quantify whole-life carbon emissions in the automobile sector. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: As sustainability efforts within the automotive market continues to evolve, it is important to analyze automobile whole-life carbon emissions rather than just what is emitted from the tailpipe, and this study fills a gap in the Ricardo Report by providing data related to the rates of pollution emitted during the manufacture of vehicles at multinational automobile factories in America.

The data was analyzed using the Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation statistic through the aid of statistical packages for social science version 23.0. \u0000Findings: The result of the study revealed the existence of significant and positive relationship between material requirement planning and supply chain performance of oil and gas firms in Rivers State. \u0000Recommendation: The researcher concluded that material requirement planning affect supply chain performance of oil and gas firms in Rivers state and therefore recommended that managers of oil and gas firms should strategically manage their material and inventory processes in other to improve their supply chain performance. \u0000

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of tendering processes on the performance of National Government constituency development fund projects.Methodology: The study adopted a case study design to achieve in-depth understanding of the constituency while drawing inference on similar situations in other constituencies in Kenya. The study targeted 359 projects of various types across the constituency. However, for efficiency and accessibility, a sample of 60 projects were selected using stratified random sampling where the different categories of projects form the strata from which samples were selected. The study employed three tools to collect data; questionnaire, interviews and record analysis review. These tools were appropriate due to the nature of data which ranged from opinions, structured data and reports on project implementation. Interviews were conducted with sub-county based officers to get in- depth information on the challenges faced by NG-CDF projects particularly those that relate to procurement. The study adopted descriptive statistics to analyze data which is presented by use of bar graphs, pie charts and tables.Findings: The study established that, there is indeed a relationship between tendering processes and project performance; 47% of the projects under study that were initiated during period delayed due to factors associated with tendering processes; Similarly, 49% of the projects studied experienced cost escalations during the implementation period. 60% had to be redone at certain stages of project implementation. Further the study established that the effects of faulty processes included: late deliveries; non-purchase of required items; escalation of procurement budget; delivery of small quantities; delivery of wrong material sizes; non-delivery of ordered items; overpricing among others.Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study recommends the need to enhance supplier performance through; cross-functional team working of relevant county and national government departments, focused supplier development processes which includes training through continuous exposure to relevant regulatory requirements and improvement in the quality of Project Management Committee membership devoid of political inclinations.

Purpose: This aims at analyzing the implications of covid-19 on the shipping/oil tanker market. Methodology: In order to attain the aim of this study, findings and data are curated from existing literatures, documents, policies, etc. This implies that desk review is the methodology applied in this study where the researcher made use of secondary sources of data as against primary source of data. Findings: In the study, it was found that covid-19 brought about a shortage in the rate of demands for good thereby causing an unbalance in the rate of supply over demand at a time which directly brought about a huge decline in shipping/oil tanker transportation. The study also found that irrespective of the huge decline in the rate of shipping/oil tanker transportation brought about by low demand in comparison with supply; shipping/oil tanker was patronized by dealers for the purpose of storage of products. Also, the study found that seaborne trade fell downward from above 3% to below a negative 8% and at a bdp rate of 100m, the demand was 3% higher than the global supply which in 2019 was at about 97%. However, in the second quarter of 2020 the supply leads demand at over 28M bdp and a 13% increase in the demand year-on-year when compared to a fall of 3.9% in the supply year-on-year. Recommendation: The study recommends that appropriate forecasting methods and proper liaison with global health will aid in averting or ameliorating the risks and negative impacts brought on shipping/oil tanker market by covid-19.
