A dual broadband dual slot antenna 双宽带双槽天线

In this paper, two types of the slot antenna were designed, fabricated, and measured. We used several technical methods to perform the impedance characteristics, control the operating frequency of resonances, enhance the impedance bandwidth at the resonances and miniaturize the size of the microstrip-fed slot antenna at the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (the industrial-scientific-medical (ISM) bands and the Hiperlan2) bands. The slot antenna was fabricated by changing the radiation element from the rectangular slot to the Z-like slot, adding four symmetrical tuning stubs at the slot edges, and splitting the slot into a double slot. The obtained impedance bandwidths for two operating bands can reach about 16.07 % for the 2.4 GHz band and 20.59 % for the 5 GHz band. The simulated and the measured radiation patterns of the double Z-like slot antenna were shown.

Some techniques to improve small groundplane printed monopole performance 提高小地平面印刷单极子性能的一些技术

Printed planar monopole antennas are enjoying considerable popularity and publicity to their low-profile, wide bandwidth, quasi-omnidirectional radiation characteristics and their ease of integratability into devices. The impedance bandwidth and radiation properties of a strip monopole have been shown to be heavily dependent on groundplane size. The groundplane (GP) is of primary importance and when miniaturised, the antenna properties change significantly. Techniques to improve the performance of printed antennas on small groundplanes are presented.

Application of MNM on collinear microstrip patch antenna MNM在共线微带贴片天线中的应用

In this paper, multiport network (MN) model of CoMPA excited by mode TM03 has been developed. The theoretical results have been compared with the Method of Moment based IE3D results. For the accurate matching of results of the both methods the radiating equivalent admittance network of the inner slot has been included. This is the unique of the presented MN model implementation.

The measurement of antenna gain with transmitting and receiving antennas on a finite ground plane 在有限地平面上用发射和接收天线测量天线增益

In this paper the edge effects from a finite ground plane on the gain of an antenna for a wide band of frequencies at UHF and above was examined. Hewlett-Packard 8510 network analyzer was used for the measurements. Simulation is done using Ansoft's HFSS code for frequencies from 400 to 1200 MHz. In addition, the simulation is also done for an infinite ground plane so that the edge effects can be more easily understood.

An internal multi-band antenna for mobile phones featuring wide fractional bandwidth is presented. The antenna is realized by a flat conformal conductor above the ground plane, featuring a feed and ground connections to the PCB. A slot is cut in the flat conductor, which is open only in between the ground and feeding connections of the flat conductor, thus forming a slit. This structure is called enhanced bandwidth folded inverted conformal antenna (EB-FICA), with reference to its precursor FICA (Di Nallo and Faraone, 2005). The EB-FICA can be designed to be penta-band, covering the four GSM bands and the UMTS Rx band, and has been adopted in several Motorola products.

This paper reported a broadband 8x16 retrodirective array for millimeter-wave applications. The array element is a proximity-coupled dual-ring antenna with a bandwidth of 33.7% (31-42.8 GHz). The antenna is used to build a 4x4 retrodirective array as a sub-array Then the sub-arrays are assembled to form an 8x16 array. The design method of the array and the measured performances from 32 GHz to 40 GHz are presented.

Application of the multilevel field interpolation algorithm to large PEC structures in 2-D 二维多能级场插值算法在大型PEC结构中的应用

The application of the Method of Moments to the analysis of large PEC structures is difficult due to the computational requirements when the structure is discretized in a high number of unknowns. To solve this problem we propose the Multilevel Field Interpolation Algorithm (MLFIA) based on a source domain decomposition that permits a fast matrix-vector multiplication within the iterative solution that reduces the computational complexity and the memory requirements to O(NlogN). The execution of the algorithm is composed of five steps that follow the computation of the field evaluated at a set of evaluation points within the observation domain, the extraction of the Green's function, the interpolation of the fields, the restoration of the Green's function and finally the aggregation of the fields. The algorithm is applied to the fast solution of 2D problems. The generalization to 3D problems is straightforward.

Miniaturization of microstrip antenna using folded structure with attaching plates for satellite communication terminal 卫星通信终端用折叠附板微带天线的小型化

Today, the advancement speed of wireless communication system is accelerated and consumers want a communication service without limit of space. A portable satellite communication service is required with the need and miniaturization of a mobile terminal is more important. The previous antenna for a satellite communication terminal, such as the Quadrifilar Helix antenna, is used but it is not suitable for portable by its huge volume To solve this problem, in this paper, miniaturizing a microstrip patch antenna with 3-dimensional structure is explained that it has a small volume, a low position, light weight, and mass production. Generally, since the size of a microstrip patch antenna is in proportion with the wavelength of a center frequency, a high permittivity dielectric is utilized for miniaturization of an antenna. However, this method causes drops of a radiating efficiency and bandwidth by the high permittivity. Therefore, folded structure and a method of using a plate attached in the bottom of an antenna are mixed rather than using a high dielectric. It is that a plate is attached on the edge of a folded antenna's patch. Also, to minimize an antenna, a method of folded structure is applied to resonance length L and width W in a general patch antenna.

A metallodielectric frequency selective surfaces (FSS) filter was optimized by a genetic algorithm (GA) to have dual stopbands in the mid-IR. Fabrication and measurement of this design demonstrated excellent filter properties with greater than 10 dB attenuation in the stopbands. However, blooming of the metallic patches resulted in a frequency shift in the measured response. Efforts are currently underway to improve the fabrication process so that the fabricated structures are faithful to the design parameters.
