La exploración de California y la fundación de nuevas “misiones” conoció un auge inesperado durante el siglo XVIII, al mismo tiempo se favoreció un mejor conocimiento del territorio y se intentó incrementar la presencia española en las tierras norteamericanas. Se reivindica la figura de Fray Junipero Serra como uno de los responsables de este nuevo momento histórico que, al mismo tiempo, se corresponde con un mejor conocimiento geográfico del oeste de los actuales Estados Unidos. El incremento de las expediciones terrestres y marítimas coincide necesariamente con la realización de nuevas descripciones de las tierras exploradas y un incremento de los mapas disponibles de la región. Este material se conserva en el Museo Naval de Madrid.

La universalización y democratización de diversas geotecnologías, sumada a la creación y consumo de grandes cantidades de geodatos, ha generado un impulso para lograr soluciones tecnológicas que satisfagan las nuevas necesidades surgidas. El debate actual se centra en la disyuntiva de la continuidad de operar con sistemas tradicionales, o bien apostar por el surgimiento y consolidación de nuevas tecnologías, como es el caso del Big Data. A todo ello se suma la necesidad de evaluar y analizar el encaje de los SIG, herramienta fundamental del geógrafo en estos nuevos planteamientos.Dentro de todo este complejo universo, se tomará como ejemplo la transición que se está produciendo en el campo de las bases de datos, verdadero corazón de un SIG. Tradicionalmente se ha venido empleando modelos relacionales, que están actualmente en pugna con opciones más novedosas, entre las que destaca el ya citado Big Data, con una potente irrupción en el mundo geográfico, y con un gran peso fuera de él.A través de una revisión crítica, realizada de forma empírica, mediante el desarrollo de una matriz multicriterio y de la aplicación de un análisis DAFO, con este trabajo se pretenden evaluar las opciones tecnológicas, actuales y futuras, más adecuadas para dar respuesta a este nuevo paradigma.AbstractThe universalization and democratization of diverse geotechnologies, added to the creation and consumption of large amounts of geodata, has generated an impulse to achieve technological solutions that meet the new needs that have arisen. Los Sitios Reales constituyen espacios de características especiales que en muchas ocasiones no quedaron recogidos en los catastros históricos. No es el caso del catastro de Ensenada que, salvo los cinco de jornada, recogió estos espacios, así como los bienes y rentas de la Corona. En este trabajo abordamos el estudio de tres Sitios Reales menores (el Alcázar, los Reales Alcázares y la Alhambra) y los restantes bienes del Rey localizados en las ciudades de Toledo, Sevilla y Granada.AbstractThe Royal Sites became places of special characteristics which in many occasions were not recorded in the historical cadastres. It is not the case of the Ensenada cadastre that, except for the five major Royal Sites, recorded those places as well as the goods and rents of the Crown. In this paper we study three minor Royal Sites (the Alcázar, Royal Alcazares, the Alhambra Royal Fortress) and the rest of the King’s properties located in the cities of Toledo, Seville and Granada.

Desde mediados del siglo XX el espacio agrario de Castilla y León, y de gran parte de España, viene transformando las características que durante años definieron su estructuración. La masiva movilización demográfica obligó a adaptar los territorios ante el imponente grado de despoblación y con el fin de aumentar la producción, reducir los costes y poder, de este modo, competir en un mercado globalizado. El índice de correlación ayudará a garantizar la estrecha vinculación existente entre la dinámica poblacional, las variables estructurales y el fenómeno de la concentración parcelaria, mecanismo que se convertirá en el verdadero instrumento de modernización de la estructura agraria, centrado en eliminar las propiedades negativas que hasta la década de los 60 dominaban el espacio agrario castellano y leonés, si bien, este estará condicionado en todo momento por los componentes físicos de la altitud, la pendiente y el material geológico presentes en el territorio. Abstract Since the mid-twentieth century the agrarian space of Castilla y León, and much of Spain, has been transforming the characteristics that for years defined its structuring. The massive demographic mobilization forced to adapt the territories against the imposing degree of depopulation, in order to increase production, reduce costs and be able to compete, in this way, in a globalized market. The correlation index will help guarantee the close link between population dynamics, structural variables and the phenomenon of land consolidation, a mechanism that will become the real instrument for the modernization of the agrarian structure, focused on eliminating the negative properties that dominated the castellano y leonés space until the 60s, although this will be conditioned at all times by the physical components of altitude, slope and geological material present in the territory.

Las vías pecuarias son un legado histórico y cultural destacado. La Región de Murcia cuenta con un buen número de estas. Conocer sobre el carácter patrimonial de las mismas y elementos asociados es una cuestión de interés. Para ello se analiza la red de vías pecuarias, anexos y elementos próximos existentes en la Región de Murcia. Además de su posible calificación como caminos paisajísticos regionales. Estas infraestructuras cuentan con un destacado valor patrimonial, dotándolas de atractivo turístico y convirtiéndolas en un recurso complementario de la oferta turística regional. Dado que discurren por todo el territorio regional permiten el acercamiento a la gran diversidad de paisajes con que cuenta la Región, así como el desplazamiento por los mismos, de ahí que se justifique su denominación como caminos paisajísticos regionales. AbstractThe paths for livestock are a remarkable historical and cultural legacy. The Region of Murcia has a good number of these. Knowing about the patrimonial nature of the same and associated elements is a matter of interest. To this end, the net work of livestock trails, annexes and nearby elements exiting in the Region of Murcia is analyzed. In addition to its possible qualification as regional landscape roads. These infrastructures have an outstanding patrimonial value, endowing them with tourist attraction and turning them into tourist resource complementary to the regional tourist offer.
