Modern Democracy is a welcomed political force which has redefined the existence of humanity. It has enabled the realization of socio economic development and egalitarian society in places where the concept had been properly utilized. In African continent, the concept is yet to fully make impact on socio economic and political system since its emergence in the aftermath of colonialism and military regimes which were wide spread before late 20th century. Among other things, democracy is still battling with political violence which derives its energy and dominance force from the army of young men and women of the African population. Using Anthropological, empirical documentations, and other available literatures, this paper unveils the negative relationship between youth involvement in political violence, and democratic development in Africa. In the quest for sustainable democratic development in the face of recurrence political violence among African nations, development of healthy political culture, participation in leadership positions, regular orientation/enlightenment, and detachment of politics from ethnic and religious affiliation; were recommended as panacea.

The article conceptualizes and typifies the narco election campaigns in the light of the experience of the Mexican case. Similarly, it is analyzing the harmful effects that such campaigns generated in the electoral system and the system of government. It is concluded that the narco electoral campaigns jeopardize the future of the fledgling Mexican democracy and contribute greatly to the foundation of what could degenerate into a narco-state or state Mafia.

The sign of Islamic rejuvenation and reinvigoration that transcended eras along its evolutionary path and the failure of Arab nationalism in the postcolonial period as well as its takeover by Islamism in the post-Cold War era are likely to be thrust into the decades and centuries ahead. Analyzing the trends of contemporary Muslim politics and transposing them onto a future context, Islam will remain politically important in the 21st century Middle East. Fluid domestic Islamist politics, resilient social movements, ideological rivalries, resurgent Arab nationalism and the after effects of Iranian revolution are impacting national debates in the region in significant ways going forward into the century. Regional hegemony and sectarianism underpinned by external interference are likely to blight the region’s march towards the future. The widening Shia-Sunni schism is likely to offer political Islam the necessary fuel for advancing supremacist agenda. The transnational nature of the modern world including globalization and the constant threat of secularism is forcing the region to react externally in various ways. Islamism is key to elucidating the discourse appropriate for countering unorthodox themes within the region in the centuries to come. Since it is clear that Islam will remain politically important in the 21st century Middle East, at times with violent extremism, it is imperative that the rest of the world recognizes that fact and concentrates on designing and opening channels of communication that promote diversity and non-violence across the globe.

This paper is based on qualitative analysis of public policies whereby its findings and discussions is derived from the available literatures on government policies and relevant theories surrounding HRM in the public sector of an economy in practice. The main aim and purpose of this review is to demonstrate the ideal practices of Human Resource Management from the Ghana’s view point of the subject matter for best approach. The major aim is to establish the history and policy practice of HRM in Ghana. Generally, the findings indicates that Ghana policies, systems, structures and programmes of HRM practice is still evolving in that, much needs to be done in order for the nation to benefit the full complement of HRM practice. In this case, it is recommended that both the public and political leaders must institute policies and systems and laws by way of streamlining existing policies and commissions in order to get the full complement of HRM practice within a country with a well-designed generic policy framework/model. With this, it will show respect and trust among one another since this is the only way a country can advance towards its Human Capital Development. Governments must establish good practices and procedures and abiding by those principles in the designed generic framework/model without government in power interferences or bias of HRM practices. Besides, it is recommended that during regime change, civil service and public sector workers who are deemed and found competent among the best and knowledgeable, must be allowed to continue their work without sacking them because of regime change and this will help to build good human relations. Above all, Handy, (1995) and Torrington statement on HRM must serve as a yard stick or wake-up call to African leaders and practitioners which states that employee society is on the wane, that new models are needed, new role models who will make life less frightening, even political society will have to make some changes so that the children of today will have something to sell to the world, so that the failures and suffering of today will not bring us too much suffering or at least less hardship to the populace. By and large, designing social policies by government are different from the adoption and practice of HRM systems and for that matter, Ghana’s current systems designed are largely based on social policies and are not proper practice of HRM systems and procedures.

1951 Convention has widely been adopted as the standard framework to deal with refugee issue, whether through being a signatory of convention or replicating the principles while deliberating over a national or regional refugee law. The paper would attempt to reveal the political basis of the refugee law and analyze the portrayal of the figure of refugee. Moving beyond the debate of having or not having a refugee law, it would accentuate the need to develop a multicultural space that could make integration, and not merely incorporation, for refugees permissible.

Post-demonetization of the 8th of November, 2016, the government of India changed the stated objective of this move from that of reducing black money in the economy to creating a cashless economy. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi incentivizing digital transactions, financial inclusion has assumed importance for its necessary role in engendering a cashless economy. This study looks at auto rickshaw drivers in Viman Nagar, Pune to look at the barriers to digital financial inclusion. The study proposes different hurdles that the Indian government and banks need to tackle to not only give the urban informal laborers bank accounts but to accommodate them into digital mediums of transaction.

The interdependence of developing countries necessitates the granting of aid to needy countries. However, analysts have diverse opinions about factors responsible for the underdevelopment of Africa. Many assumed that the underdevelopment and dependency situation of most African countries on foreign aid are due to poor leadership, mismanagement of national resources and elevation of personal aggrandizement and primordial interest over and above national interest. The neo-Marxist scholars, on the other hand, submitted and insisted that what propelled the development of developed countries are also the same factors that facilitated the underdevelopment of developing countries. These factors are: colonialism, slave trade, and unequal exchange. This paper adopts dependency theory in analyzing the implication of foreign aid on the economies of developing world.
