Quantum-resistant Cryptography in FPGA FPGA中的抗量子加密

The use of cryptography techniques to guarantee confidentiality, authenticity and integrity of sensitive data has become mandatory. Besides, advancements in quantum computers are gradually posing a threat to public key encryption technology. Without proper security measures, fraudsters may easily gain access to one's personal and sensitive data. The result of the third round of NIST's Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) process for standardization of public-key cryptography systems brought CRYSTALS-Kyber as the first mechanism selected for key encapsulation. The aim of this study is to provide the specification of a reconfigurable CRYSTAL-Kyber accelerator using High-Level Synthesis (HLS) technology. Our architecture requires about 2200 LUTs, 3001 FFs and 28 DSP on a low-cost Zynq FPGA (XC7Z020-1 CLG400C). The total time spent by the accelerator in a key exchange simulation is approximately 0.84 ms, operating at 100 MHz, and the estimated power consumption in this process is 1.695W.

Assessment of Synchronous Condensers Connected to Extra-High Voltage Substations during Transmission Lines Switching 输电线路切换过程中超高压变电站同步电容器的评估

This work assesses the behavior of synchronous condensers when connected to a substation busbar in front of switching of transmission lines. This evaluation is based on the active and reactive powers as well as the field current of the electrical machine. In order to do so, a double-bus single breaker with four switch disconnectors power substation arrangement is modeled in the software EMTP-RV. This power system is tested under transmission line disconnections and the results show the response of the excitation system under this kind of situation and the way the synchronous condensers can alleviate the load flow in the remaining transmission lines it is also demonstrated.

Proof of concept of Fault Detection and Identification Framework applied in Power Converter based on Digital Twins 基于数字孪生的电力变换器故障检测与识别框架的概念验证

This article presents the framework proof of concept for fault detection and identification in power electronics converters using Digital Twins. Therefore, the Digital Twins contextualization on power electronics converter is presented since it is a recent trend in this research field. Moreover, a study and classification are carried out in terms of the main failures reported by the literature on power electronics. To validate the basic methodology, a buck dc-dc power converter simulation model was elaborated on Simulink, interfaced with an external DSP, providing the link with the real time requested by such monitoring applications. The results evidence that the intentional failure scenarios in the simulation are, indeed, identified and categorized by the external DSP. Thus, this proof of concept delivers the basic step for a framework capable to provide the communication of real power converters with their respective simulation model in order to provide data comparison in the monitoring of fault situations.

Accurate modeling of the wind power curve is crucial for estimating production capacity, furthering proper planning, abnormal state detection, and integration with the power system. For such, data-driven approaches appear as appealing alternatives. However, wind-power turbine performance is susceptible to uncertainties and non-linearities, and although several techniques have been explored, none was established as more advantageous in all cases, whereas each can suffer from data pollution, insufficiency, or poor conditioning. Therefore, adjudicating the most suitable model for each specific application requires careful consideration. Among the most prevalent strategies in the literature, artificial intelligence-based approaches often achieve better results, but curve-fitting solutions can obtain comparably good models with lesser development complexity. This work studies piecewise linear fitting and machine learning-based methods. An automatic data filtering procedure based on median absolute deviation patterns also is used. Compared simulations use datasets for the case of interest, related to a project aimed at building a hybrid solar-wind power plant, with integrated battery storage features, by the re-purposing of one generating unit operating in a previously existing Brazilian wind farm. Both approaches yielded useful results, and although the machine learning application outcomes had a wider range, they typically presented around 10% better error metrics overall.

Methodology for Impact Analysis of Electric Vehicles Charging Stations in Low Voltage Distribution Networks 低压配电网中电动汽车充电站影响分析方法

Electric vehicle sales increase at a rapid rhythm annually, however, potential negative impacts of charging stations on the power distribution grid can be a barrier to the widespread adoption of this technology. In this sense, this paper presents an analytical methodology for allocating electric vehicle charging stations in low voltage networks to reduce the impact on the voltage profile of the system. In addition, the proposed method allows estimating the maximum three-phase power that can be installed in each bus, which can be useful for sizing charging stations and for planning studies of the distribution system.

Characterization of Large-Scale Parameters in Indoor THz Channels Applying the Ray Tracing Method 应用光线追踪方法表征室内太赫兹通道的大尺度参数

Due to the large available bandwidth, the communications in the terahertz band (0.1 THz − 10 THz) is one of the key techniques to meet the Tbit/s rate requirements of the future wireless networks. The propagation in the mentioned frequency range is subject to high path losses, presents a low diffractive capacity and is susceptible to diffuse scattering. Thus, in order to characterize the channel in the range from 0.2 THz to 0.3 THz, this work presents results of ray tracing simulations in an indoor environment. The ray tracing is based on the shooting-and-bouncing rays method and characterizes the propagation by means of reflections, diffractions, diffuse scattering and atmospheric molecular absorption. From the simulation results, the path losses, the Rice factor, the root-mean-square delay spread and the channel coherence band are evaluated.

Statistical and Performance Analysis of Compressive Sensing in Solar Corona Tomography 日冕层析成像中压缩感知的统计与性能分析

This work aims to evaluate the performance of the technique developed for tomography images of the Solar Corona, based on Compressive Sensing (CS) in comparison with the Filtered Backprojection method (FBM), in which 31 LASCO C2 images were used. The results of the reconstruction of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) present better performances for the CS and together with the analysis of the processing time for this method, it was possible to determine the optimal angle of projection of 250 that guarantees a suitable quality given the characteristics of reconstruction that the algorithm presented.

DNS tunneling uses DNS protocol features to establish command and control channels thus being possibly exploited as a malicious tool for data exfiltration. DNS tunneling security threats affect crossplatform systems within local and cloud computing resources. This article proposes an effective DNS tunnel detection methodology integrating cloud-based resources. The proposed detection methods compose an unsupervised machine-learning model execution for anomaly identification. The validation uses a collected DNS traffic dataset and shows the practical approach for C2, data exfiltration, and heartbeat tunnel test situations, as high levels of anomaly detection are obtained even for those lightweight data during the transfer process. This study has an operational approach and could be adapted to compose security control systems for organizations.

Leveraging BERT's Power to Classify TTP from Unstructured Text 利用BERT的能力从非结构化文本中分类TTP

Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) are valuable information to cyber-security analysts. However, they are mostly disseminated through unstructured text. This work presents a proposal for tackling this problem by using BERT models, a state-of-the-art approach in Natural Language Processing. We investigate the effect of some chosen hyperparameters on the fine-tuning of the models. MITRE's example sentences are used to train (fine-tuning step) eleven BERT models. The purpose is to find the best model and the finest combination of hyperparameters for the task of classifying TTPs according to the ATT&CK framework. As a result, we observed that the best models presented an accuracy of 82.64% and 78.75% on two datasets tested, demonstrating the potential of the application of BERT models in the complex task of TTP classification. At last, we gather some insights from the misclassified data that help better understand the dataset and how the models manage and classify the proposed data.

Soil Water Content and Porosity on Earth Potential Rise of Vertical Grounding Rods 土壤含水量和孔隙度对垂直接地棒接地电位上升的影响

Several formulations have been proposed to compute the electrical parameters of soil regarding its physical properties such as frequency effect, ground stratification, porosity, water content, and temperature. This paper investigates the impact of the porosity and water content on the soil conductivity proposed by the improved Archie's model on the harmonic grounding impedance of a 3-m vertical rod buried in two types of soil (clay loam and sand). The harmonic grounding impedance is computed by the full-wave electromagnetic software FEKO® for a frequency range from 100 Hz up to 10 MHz. Then, the transient ground potential rise (TGPR) is computed for lighting currents of the first and subsequent return strokes. Results indicated a significant influence on the peak values of TGPR wave-forms obtained for saturated soils, including porosity and water content compared with those assessed with dry soils. Increasing the water content and decreasing the porosity level produce more conductive soils that impact the transient responses notably.
