Background: molar incisor hypoplasia is a rare condition affecting the permanent first molars and anterior teeth compromising function and esthetics. Purpose: this case report was done to discuss the proper treatment for MIH patients with crowns and composite veneers to restore the missing tooth structure, lack of function & poor esthetics. Methods: patient came to outpatient clinic suffering from low self-confidence and inability to chew food. Upon examination and investigations, she was diagnosed with MIH where her anterior teeth and first molars in both maxilla and mandible were affected. Conclusions: A detailed treatment plan was made starting with periodontal therapy followed by full ceramic crowns in upper anterior teeth, direct veneers in lowers followed by endodontic treatment in the molars and implants in the missing lower left molar and a bridge on the lower right side. The chosen treatment plan yielded great results and restored both the function and esthetics of the patient.

Background: PolyEtherEtherKetone and zirconia are two recent esthetic post materials used in treatment of endodontically treated teeth. Although both materials share similar esthetic properties but have different mechanical properties which could affect their mode of failures. Therefore, the aim of the study was to analyze the failure modes of zirconia versus PolyEtherEtherKetone custom made posts in anterior endodontically treated teeth. Materials and Methods: Thirty-six anterior maxillary incisors with similar dimensions were collected, decoronated, endodontically treated, and post space prepared. The teeth were divided according to material of post into two groups: group (1) PolyEtherEtherKetone post and group (2) zirconia post. PolyEtherEtherKetone posts were surface treated via sulfuric acid while zirconia posts were sandblasted by 50um aluminum oxide particles. All posts were cemented using dual cure self-adhesive cement. Thermocycling at 5,000 cycles was done to all samples. Three slices of 2mm thickness were obtained from each sample. The samples were loaded to failure via universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. Failure modes were evaluated using a scanning electron microscope under magnifications of 52x, 250x and 400x. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between failure modes of the two post material types at the cervical, middle as well as apical root levels (P-value = 0.070), (P-value = 0.580) and (P-value =

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the survival rates of Sandblasted, Large grit, Acid-etched (SLA) and laser-treated implants supporting two implant-mandibular overdentures over a 12 months period. Methods: Thirteen edentulous patients received two implants each in the intra-foraminal region of the mandible, with SLA in the left side of the midline, laser-treated implants in the right side and ball stud attachments for the overdenture. The overdentures were early loaded after 6 weeks. Implants survival rate was evaluated over a12 months follow up period using image analysis software (Digora Optime, Soredex). The statistical software SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Science; 22.0, IBM Corp, Armonk, NY, USA) was utilized for data analysis. Implant survival rates were calculated using the Kaplan-Meier analysis. Results: After 12 months follow up period, the implants survival rate was 92.3%. The overall mean survival times of the implants was 11.269 m. For the laser-treated implants and SLA the mean survival times were 11.308 and 11.231 months respectively. There was a non-statistically significant difference in the survival rate of implants in both groups with p value(P=0.97) Conclusion: The use of SLA and laser-treated implants with stud attachments and an early

Digital orthodontics, Digitized dentistry ,Digital models , Clear aligners , Digital imaging, digital workflow Abstract Orthodontists were the pioneers in adopting a digitized workflow and coping with the rapidly growing digital era worldwide. Digital transformation in the orthodontic field fundamentally alters the way in which orthodontic treatment is perceived, delivered, and helps in creating individualized orthodontic appliances. Fully equipped orthodontic office with intraoral scanners and 3D printers enhances diagnostic procedures and treatment planning abilities through implementing digital photos digital models, digital cephalometric analysis, and virtual setups, ending up with dental monitoring software analyzing tooth movement using artificial intelligence, manufacturing of custom-made brackets, robotically bent wires, 3D printed appliances like 3D printed facemask, which makes the device more comfortable to the child’s face with sensors allows orthodontist to measure compliance, clear aligners, indirect bonding trays, and retainers. In a short while, orthodontic specialists will only be required to be clinically involved in management of complicated malocclusions and more work will be performed in front of computers, tablets, and mobile devices.

Background : The loss of teeth is a problem that frequently interferes with mastication, phonetics and esthetics. Patients frequently find their use of a removable partial denture (RPD) to be in sufficient from a functional and aesthetic standpoint. An alternative to fixed dentures (FD) for free-end saddles is a hybrid prosthesis that combines a RPD and FD using precision attachment. Methods : The inability to consistently achieve a passive fit with screw-retained implant prostheses is well documented in the literature. This review is evidenced based literature describing current available data regarding the fabrication of fixed-detachable hybrid prosthesis. Conclusions : Current and past literature regarding implant-retained frameworks for full-arch, hybrid restorations have been presented. Guidelines were proposed for use by clinicians and laboratory technicians in designing implant-retained frameworks. However further clinical and laboratory research continues to be warranted to test the efficacy of the proposed guidelines. © 2022 MSA. All rights reserved.

Background: Dental students are at high risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Motivation to adopt the science of ergonomics correctly is still lacking among dental students. Methods: Dental students at Modern Sciences and Arts University were given a self-administered survey. In total, sixty-two people took part in this survey. Participants were asked to complete a structured online questionnaire containing 18 questions regarding their MSDs symptoms, intensity and frequency. The data was collected within two weeks starting from the 1st of January 2023 until the 14th of January 2023, to be analyzed and surveyed. Results: Lower back pain was the most frequently reported musculoskeletal disorder among all dental students, while workload had a significant impact on these conditions. Female dental students experienced a greater intensity of pain and increased pain sensitivity, even though both sexes experience it in the same areas of the body. There was a direct relation between physical activity and experienced chronic pain in the lower lumbar region of the back among dental students. Conclusions: The majority of students appear to work in environments that exacerbate musculoskeletal system disorders. It is advised to incorporate ergonomics principles into routine work and practice regular physical activity. To create a comfortable working environment; dental ergonomics should be taught to undergraduate students and strictly implemented in the clinics.
